Mr Joe's Steak House & Restaurant

I only went here because it looks so old school...like places I remember happily from my youth. I've only had two cheesesteaks from here and they were perfectly wrapped and absolutely satisfying. Seriously, my favorite cheesesteak. I just moved to Columbia and they're maybe a block from me. Thank God.

I like it. It has an old-fashioned type of vibe.
The ladies seem polite. The food is in score 6 out of 10. The drinks are not to good.

Amazing! The bread is not too tough like most places, but also holds up if you get sauce because the sauce is thick and on top away from the roll (I used ketchup for this one). Probably the best meat I gotten in a cheese steak, and chopped to perfection.
It sounds like some people feel uncomfortable eating alone if they don't have other customers (???) Weird, but I also ate alone and it was a nice view and the staff was very friendly.
For the price and convenient location, you really can't beat it!

The best cheesesteak in Columbia I want to say in Lancaster County it's definitely better than the other steak places in Columbia it may cost you a little bit more what the quality of the steak you can't beat it's not 90% onions like those other places

I love their cheese steak sandwiches. I add lettuce, tomatoes and raw onions. It had a very fresh roll, the steak meat was tender ( no gristle or fat) and the sauce was just the finishing touch. The sweet potato fries are great. Top your meal off with a fountain soda with a splash of flavor (we add vanilla).
This is not a fancy place however I highly recommend it for a steak sandwich!

Best little steak shop around. The staff is great, no nonsense service straight to the point and great food. If you're looking for a upstanding restaurant this isn't the place, however if you want the best steak around this is your place.

By far the best cheese steaks ever. And love the real vanilla cokes that they make. They still have all the orginal retro 50s milk shake maker and soda dispensers although they don't work anymore it's cool to see that stuff.

This cheese steak with sauce and mushrooms and onions was just like I remember when I was growing up in Colombia.!! Basket block to them with their business being open and I will be back very soon. Thank you Jose steak shop keep up the great work and the place was very clean.

They have the best fries and gravy ever I’m from Baltimore not from around here and it took me forever to find decent fries and gravy and this is one of my number one spot! The rest of the food is so good the cheesesteaks everything it’s the best sub shop around.

The Best cheesesteak subs I've had since I've lived in Lancaster County. I love ordering lunch there. Great taste and reasonable prices!

Gotta say that the cheesesteak is phenomenal. I tried it out about a month ago and now its one of the few places ill order a cheesesteak. The meats fresh and the helping is more than enough. I suggest going with a medium, large is alot of meat and bread.

The great debate in Columbia... Joe's or Smiths' for cheesesteaks. Thing is, there's no wrong answer. Good thing is these guys have great food, all around.

This Italian place is definitely a good spot for awesome meals. I’ve never been disappointed with these guys. I love how they incorporate the Italian culture into their meals. Their steak is definitely to die for

Mr. Joe's has been around a long time. Good cheese steak at a fair price.
Not a Philly cheese steak, but a Lancaster county style with red sauce and deli cheese of your choice.

Well this was unexpected. Was looking for a good cheese steak in Columbia the other day and came across Mr Joe's. Classic local place, Covid-19 seems to have taken a hold, which stinks, AMIRITE?
Of course I ate in the car but it was DELICIOUS. Small cheese steak was huge. Cheese fries were okay. Still, would stop in again next time thru Columbia.

Best. Cheesesteaks. Ever. I like that they also have sweet potato fries, most places don't offer that. We enjoy our food every time.

BEST Cheesesteak in the Lancaster County and arguably the best outside the Philly metro area. Its a shame more people outside of Columbia haven't discovered Mr. Joes because its not on main route through town,. and they don't need a liquor license to sell their food. The "other" shop in town wins the popularity contest but Mr. Joes wins where it counts theiir cheesesteaks, food and service.
