Not your average diner. Not your typical diner food. Pre-Covid prices. Tastes like real down home cooking. Friendly staff. We need more hidden gems like Schwalm's Cleona Restaurant.

Easter Sundays, my wife and I have been going to Schwalms Restaurant. The ham and turkey dinner specials are homemade and very delicious with plenty of sides to choose from with dessert, which reminded us of family meals with our parents and grandparents. Friendly atmosphere and great service too. They are family owned and operated and have been very kind and friendly to us through the years. They also serve a fantastic haddock dinner on Fridays as well as other dinner specials throughout the week. Their breakfast and lunch menu is very good too. Great place to relax and enjoy a delicious meal anytime of the day.

Service was outstanding. Food outstanding. (I had breakfast and only ordered eggs, toast and home fries. Cooked a little crispy with onions) will be my stop when I can.

Stopped in while passing through town, extremely friendly service. Reasonable prices. What I noticed most was how clean the place was. Would certainly come back if in the area. I appreciated that they accepted credit/debit cards. Don’t hesitate to stop here!

By far one of the most wholesome welcoming experiences I've had ever. My waitress was incredible and the food was fantastic. I can't wait to have another reason to be in the area.

Cheap, decent food, quick service. Chicken salad sandwich is my favorite. Usually go for supper but went for lunch today. Cream of chicken soup is good too. No surprises... Service and food was as expected.

The classic Coca-Cola sign caught my eye and me and my friend decided to investigate. With 0 research, the sign places it at least 30 or 40 years old.

I got a beef bbq sandwich (sloppy joe), fresh cut fries, macaroni salad and a diet coke. My meal was around $11.

Everything was excellent and I'm normally indifferent towards macaroni salad.

The entire restaurant was exceptionally clean and the staff very friendly.

This place was originally a service station back when the school behind it was functional and gas pumps were gravity-fed. I think it's been in the same family the entire time.

Take a look at the pictures, knick nacks and talk to the staff!

Schwalm's is a classic, simple home town restaurant. The staff knows all the regulars by name and their schedules and everyone is very friendly. The kind of place where the waitress calls you "Hun" and it's completely charming. All the classics are available and breakfast is on the menu all day. I had a BLT club and my mom had a classic Ruben. My bacon was so crispy and loved that they had rye bread as an option. Prices seem like they haven't changed in 10 years! They have all the Central PA dinner staples on the menu - no one leaves disappointed or hungry! Couldn't bring myself to try the Ham BBQ, but always good to know it's there for those who like that sort of thing.

Food: Came in for breakfast. The cream beef on toast was something I've never had before but made me feel like a kid again. The hot cakes were incredibly fluffy and were so good I could have eaten them without syrup. The breakfast sausage was amazing, and you taste the quality in it from being locally sourced. Bacon was thin, crispy, and delicious. Eggs medium well proved to be flawless.

Service: Melanie is an absolute doll, and she made my arnold palmer exactly how I like it first try. She is wonderful, present, and attentive.

Atmosphere: Was a very comfortable place, and it felt like I was at home waiting for my grandma to make my favorite dish! All the staff rock in this place.

Ordered take-out of Friday baked haddock special. Haddock was very good and 2 side dish portions were large and delicious. I had stewed tomatoes and breaded cauliflower. All desserts looked wonderful; my choice chocolate cake with fudge frosting. Meal came with choice of white or wheat rolls and butter.

I called in an order, I asked if they could put creamed chipped beef over honkey fries. They informed me that they would have to charge me for both meals but if that's what I wanted they could do that. It was so good!! Their creamed chipped beef was so flavorful! Everything was so delicious that I had to call back and thank them for the great meal, I know I'm weird, but I was craving that exact thing and they totally delivered! The girls working were amazing too! Thanks again to cook for making my breakfast craving a reality!!
