Hiway Theater

Great local theater! I love their selection of movies. Small, cozy, clean theater. Unlike the large commercial theaters where you have to sit through 30 minutes of non-stop commercials before the movie even starts and everything smell like stale over-buttered popcorn, this place has a relaxed comfortable environment with reasonably-priced concessions. Would recommend becoming a member.

Great movie theater!

The staff is super friendly and helpful. The lobby and concession area is well laid out with plenty of seating. The theater itself is always clean. And the movies they show are great! This is the best local movie theater I've been to!

Any lover of cinema will love this theater. I enjoy seeing classics on the big screen and getting to see Stand By Me with my girlfriend at the Hiway made for an awesome night. If I were local I would be here at least twice a week. I will definitely be back as often as possible. As a horror fan I love any theater that appreciates horror flicks.

It's been a while since I was last there and the seats look new and they are comfy! Employees are super nice and energetic. All in all, a nice blast from the past and a great alternative to the huge screen modern theaters.

One of the best community locations around. All the local ghouls and ghosts will appreciate the Horror at the Hiway series that showcases some of the best movies in the horror genre. Ownership, staff, etc. have always been very welcoming and friendly, you can tell that they love movies and love creating a unique space to share these experiences with the community. While you're here, don't forget to grab a beer at Human Robot after the show!

Such a great experience. A very classic feel with just the right amount of modern . The theater is completely non profit. It is sustained by donations, memberships, and ticket sales. 🎟 support this local part of history, and keep this beautiful theater around for years to come.

A great, classic, small theater that always has cool showings. Chairs are a little cramped, but it's worth it for experiencing theaters the way they were so long ago.

The Hiway theater is a wonderful single screen theater right in the middle of Jenkintown. They get fantastic movies, whether they are new releases or classics. They often have special movie events (Horror at the Hiway!) and contests. Their snack bar is great and reasonably priced, and the staff is excellent. This is a theater operated and staffed by people that love movies and their community. My wife and I are members of the theater for two years running and have no plans on stopping - you get complimentary tickets and discounted admission for the whole year. If you want a genuine and old school movie going experience, skip Regal and AMC and check out the Hiway instead. Their sister theater in Ambler is great too!

Awesome theater, might be a little cramped if you're a bigger person but the staff is always super friendly, popcorn isn't as expensive at traditional movie theaters.

They also do special movies which is so cool, from indie stuff getting buzz at film fests to old school horror movies, and even really old school black and white stuff.

Friendly staff, relatively reasonably priced concessions, and rarely a full house so there's always a good seat available. More classic seating -- not stadium layout or recliner massage chairs, but comfortable enough.

An old-style, single screen theater that plays everything from classics to indies to current popular films. The popcorn is so good I almost made myself sick! Has a nice lobby with seating in case you need to finish your popcorn before you leave.

Parking is challenging as the theater is on a busy highway, but there are options within a short block or two. Worth the trip!
