The most recent occasion was a family wedding for my cousin where many family members borrowed hanboks from fellow church members or rented from Etsy. Jessica and Jeoung were wonderful! My wife and I went to BDK Mint to help us plan our paebak, and make us some custom hanbok. The result was incredible. Jessica planned the whole ceremony, walked us through it, helped us prepare (shout out to Sylvia too!), setup a wonderful setting and MC'ed the whole ceremony to keep all my non-korean side of the family understanding what was going on.

The custom hanboks made by Jeoung were amazing, and fantastic craftsmanship. While I thought I looked pretty damn good, my wife looked stunning. The whole process of helping pick the design and fabrics and everything was a great time, and they were very patient with us and make all the time needed to help us get the perfect outfits for the perfect day!

I can’t say enough about my amazing experience at BDKmint! If you’re in the market for a hanbok to purchase or rent, look no further! I decided super last minute that I wanted to wear a hanbok for my wedding portraits, and was panicking about finding something in time for our photoshoot back in April. Jess and her mom scheduled me for a fitting right away, and were both so patient with me as I tried on tons of different color combinations and customized silk embroidered add-ons to create the perfect dress to match my cherry blossom vision! I was worried the rental color and design options would be somewhat limited, as it wasn’t a custom order and I only gave them one week’s notice, but they worked their MAGIC! Jess and her mom were super attentive during the appointment, pulled out all the stops, and the final product was a dream come true! Not only are their hanboks reasonably priced compared to what I’ve seen back home in NY and NJ, but the quality is fantastic and the customer service is unparalleled. We ordered a custom hanbok though BDK Mint and had nothing but top-notch service each step of the way. Even the virtual consultation ( due to our living two states away) and measurement session was seamless with the staff’s guidance. BDK Mint was extremely helpful in ensuring I, father of the groom, was able to match my wife’s hanbok for a unified look. After a beautiful, seamless Paebaek ceremony during my sister's wedding in May of 2019, my husband and I knew we wanted the same experience at our wedding for October of 2021. Wonderful experience!! We got hanbok rentals for me and my mom along with the full paebaek package. Everyone commented on how fun the ceremony was and were so impressed by how professional and funny Jessica was. Both English and Korean speakers felt at home in the ceremony! My in laws are American but they felt like they knew what to do at all times bc the MC-ing was so seamless.

And the hanbok! Both my mom and I were so pleased with her hanbok. I had gone in to get mine fitted and altered but we had to do my moms all remotely. I was nervous but the end result was perfect! My mom looked so cute and beautiful. Everyone was commenting on how beautiful she looked.

I was nervous because I'd never worn, bought, or been fitted for hanbok and felt a bit self-conscious about my lack of knowledge in this area. I also opted for a more gender-neutral design -- a choice that was honored and embraced by Jessica and her mom. At every point I felt seen and welcomed by them and I cannot recommend them enough!

My wife and I had our wedding celebration in Boston during Memorial day weekend of 2022. Jessica & her team at BDK Mint were so responsive, easy to work with, and accommodating. We wanted to have a Korean American ceremony blending both cultures, and they knew exactly what to do. They made sure both families and guests from both cultures felt comfortable and fully understood the ceremony. BDK Mint provided a complete service for my son’s wedding reception and thanks to Jessica, the owner of BDK, the entire evening was so much fun and memorable. My daughter in law and her family are from the non Korean backgrounds so the reception could’ve been a bit awkward due to the cultural difference between the guests. BDK Mint was my favorite vendor on my wedding day. Through the entire process Jessica was extremely prompt in communications, very flexible, and easy to work with. On the day of, they totally blew my expectations. The set up is gorgeous and they make the ceremony so incredibly easy. They come with everything prepared, back up, clips, pins, everything. They've thought of every detail and help you get dressed into their beautiful robes. They help you through the process of the ceremony. My Korean family was so impressed with the whole thing and asked how I found them, and will be hiring them for any future weddings in the area. Amazing! My husband and I had Paebaek ceremony with BDK Mint and they were so easy to work with and provided us fun experience! We made Paebaek public to our guests during reception and everyone LOVED and enjoyed seeing that!! Selecting BDK MINT to perform the paebeak service at my wedding this past summer was the easiest decision during the whole wedding planning service. I have been going to BDK MINT to purchase hanbok with my mother since I was about 5 years old. I knew that the quality of the clothing would be beautiful, the service would be kind, and the process would be easy. Jessica walked me through ever step and made sure to explain all the cultural differences and meanings to my husband's family in a much better way than I ever could. While my mother was able to go in by herself to choose her hanbok, I went with both of my mothers-in-law so that they would not feel so out of place in a Korean store. The consultation had both of them giggling with excitement and when we went to pick up their hanbok, they looked absolutely beautiful.

The actual paebeak ceremony during the wedding was a huge success. Almost three months after the wedding I still have people telling me how much fun it was to be able to witness this traditional ceremony. Even though it is normally a private event, I explained to Jessica that I wanted it to be open to all of my guests (if they wanted to witness it) because many of my non-Korean friends expressed interest in how the ceremony would be performed. She had no problems with the idea and emceed the paebeak in both Korean and English for everyone to understand and enjoy. It was truly a wonderful way to incorporate my Korean background. The handmade Paebeak food was beautifully made and delicious as well. While the food is traditionally given to the groom's parents, they offered it to my mother. It was adorable that I had to call Jessica to try and return to her the dishes the paebeak food was packaged in, because my mother insisted that we return the beautiful Korean dishes. Jessica explained to me that the package we purchased included the dishes.
