Family Chicken and Waffles Seafood and Soulfood

Owners are from Newark NJ. A really nice no frills soul food place. The music is good, and the food is equally good too! I had the soul food platter with a side potato salad and Everything was delicious. Potato salad tastes like my grandmas sister made it. Place is BYOB as well. It’s a great place to grab some soul food. I will be back !

I ate here a couple of weeks back and was blown away. I saw the pictures in my camera roll and was transported back immediately and needed to give a review. Me and my girl had each gotten a platter and not 1 item wasn’t spot on. Let’s begin. I got the chicken, it was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside,seasoned perfectly. Some places Mac n cheese can get a little weird on me, but once again this was a perfect balance. The collard greens were seasoned so good, they have just the right hit of heat and they were cooked just right. Sometimes I feel like I’m chewing on leaves but not here, it was on point. My girl had the whiting and was so fresh tasting, it’s like they made it tomorrow. And lastly the corn bread. It’s a hard thing to get balanced. It’s gotta be wet and dry at the same time and they did it. Place was clean and the guy that rung me out was super nice with great customer service. We will definitely be back.

I ordered the “mini soul food platter” all 4 sides and fried fish. The best soul food spot in the valley hands down. And they are a black owned business !! Will most definitely be back :)

CHICKEN & WAFFLES $ Seafood!: The absolute BEST! This is a JEWEL of a neighborhood restaurant! I have been coming to Family Chicken & Waffles for months & have eaten many of the dishes at this small family owned restaurant. It has become one of my few goto restaurants here in the Lehigh Valley (the LV).

The chicken (wings, legs & thighs) are the BIGGEST chicken pieces that I have ever seen, much less eaten. The taste is superb - crispy skin outside, yet juicy & tender inside. The food is served HOT and FRESH. So you know that it hasn’t been sitting around under heat lamps. And don’t get me started on their fried shrimp! It’s outstanding. Also, The service from all staff is given with a smile. The restaurant itself is very clean with the tables, table mats and sturdy chairs being spotlessly maintained. There are tables available for sit-down dining or waiting so that you can get your food to-go.

Oh. I forgot to mention their outstanding waffles created with different flavors no less. There is no other restaurant like this one. It fills a great void in the culinary tapestry that exists in the Lehigh Valley.

The restaurant is located in an out of the way plaza in Forks on Sullivan Trail. The food is simply delicious. Finally, whatever you order, you will not be disappointed!

We ordered dinner for take out, and it was great! I ordered the seafood platter, no complaints. My wife ordered chicken and waffles, and it was delicious! The waffles are to die for.
The staff were friendly and the food was prepared in a reasonable amount of time. Will definitely hit this place up next time we craving chicken and waffles.

I'm so happy to stumble into this spot. Don't let the outside fool you, this is the place for soul food. The ambiance is casual. Order and pay in front and your food is brought to your table. The chicken and waffles are made to perfection. The seafood was arranged to beautifully, I almost didn't want to eat it. Everything that comes out of here is absolutely amazing. I will be back! The staff was super friendly, the service was extremely quick, they had great music playing, and best of all the food was amazing! I got the jumbo shrimp and fries platter, and the shrimp was cooked perfectly (something I rarely experience). The chicken and waffles were also the quintessential experience you want when you think of the dish. All-in-all this place aims to serve people great soul food and they hit that mark exactly.

This place is like no other in our area. Amazing seafood pots. But, their fried chicken is the best I've ever had. Their waffles menu is beyond anything I've ever seen. Let me the owner, Dave, and his family that run the place.

Wonderful Wonderful to have this restaurant in Easton! Friendly Family Staff! Inviting & accommodating dine in setting. Take out was ordered and delivered in a timely manner! Fish & Shrimp were perfectly seasoned & fried! Waffles were delicious! Arrive early to be able to order soul food sides. Park on the back section of the Park Plaza Mall for quicker access

This is insane. It blew my expectations out the park. THIS is what I've been looking for and what you've been looking for. Everything seasoned amazingly. I don't even like collard greens yet I kept going at these. The corn bread tasted like it had crack in it (don't worry they don't) and just wow to everything else. Stop reading my review, turn on your GPS and go get that food. 😋

This place really is worthy of 5 stars. The service was great the food was excellent. Had the whiting and shrimp with Mac n cheese and greens. The food comes to the table piping hot and large portions. Greens were seasoned and spicy. Mac n cheese was banging. The seafood is seasoned well and hot. Those shrimp are off the hook too. Check out there Facebook and Instagram for more pics and videos. I remember ordering a seafood boil and the owner would deliver it to your house. Food is just great well worth the hour drive.

This food was by far the best soul food I have ever had! The prices were high but once I saw the portion size the price was well worth every cent! This place is the real deal and worth checking out!

This was my first time eating here and it wont be my last! The food was amazing! I had The Shrimp Lovers Pot( I think thats the name) and yes! Slamming. My bff had waffles and fried fish and shrimp and she really enjoyed it.

Great place to eat w great prices! Tasty chicken and Mac. The chicken was juicy and big not dried out and skimpy. Food came quick about 5 min not even. Great vibe of the place, tv to watch with some good music playing. Want to go back to try other things on the menu! Check them out! It’s a must.

Omg Omg found a closer soul food spot use to drive way out to Plainfield NJ or stroudsburg pa and live in phillipsburg about 15 minutes away from this spot.
My tastebuds found a home and loved every thing on this plate.WELL SEASONED I didn't have to add anything.I was dancing the food was so good mmm mmmm mmmm brought me back to my grandmother's cooking but she lives downsouth.
I'm in love and I'm definitely returning back can't wait to try other things off the menu.
