Although the main part of the park has lost quite a bit of the authentic natural nature wonderment I grew up with, it is still a beautiful park to explore.
What I cherish is it is a wonderful place for families, dogs welcomed, PLENTY of trails for all skills and length. Gorgeous bird watching, natural stream to fish in when stocked and to wade in- dogs too. Abundant material to learn about the different aspects of the park, activities offered and information to get involved.
I grew up knowing this State Park like it was my backyard for my entire life. Many memories with my Dad since I was very little, I took my daughter there growing up and it's so very nostalgic to me at 50.💗

Great place for a beautiful hike! Go on a weekday to avoid the crowds. The new modern building has a nice restroom and information but you want to pull into the other lot.

Head past the information kiosk and go over the bridge near the restrooms and take the old growth trail Henry’s Woods along the creek. It’s amazing!

Restrooms near the trailhead there, by the bridge don’t have paper towels, but are also nice.

Free state park, free parking, free natural beauty. Escape the city and renew in Nature. 🍁☀ 🌲

This is my go to place for birding. I've seen over 200 species of birds here to include over around 17 species of warblers. I recommend the homestead trail for spring and fall warblers. Just don't go on Thursday or Fridays between 10-2 as there's always bus loads of kids running around and screaming, scaring off all the wildlife. I'd rather them running around yelling there than at home playing video games though, at least they're out in nature. Hopefully there's a couple of their groups that will fall in love with the outdoors and will be good conservationists.
Also watch for dog poop on the Henry wood's trail as there are many inconsiderate people who don't clean up after their dogs, I mean a LOT of them. Also watch for horse poop all over the trails that allow them especially if you're riding a bike. Most of the trails are all use trails that allow biking, walking and horseback riding.
Try and avoid the areas around the parking lots as they're usually the busiest areas. The hummingbird gardens is an awesome area, there's lots of wildlife in and around the area if you can find a time when there aren't a lot of people. My best days for birding have been when it's cold or rainy and hardly anyone is there. On nice sunny days it can get very busy, especially on the weekends. The volunteers there have done a lot of good there, with clearing the trails, putting up nesting boxes, removing invasive species of plants and have really cleaned up all around the park. Your guys effort does not go unnoticed. From someone who is there easily 150 times per year I know it takes a lot of time and hard work to keep up with mother nature. Without everyone pitching in to keep this place nice it would be destroyed in no time.

Took our first hike in the park today. Lots of interesting plants and insects to see. We’ll be back soon and definitely want to see it in the Fall.

It is a wonderful park full of history and beautiful places to photograph, trek, and walk your pet. The only thing is that the visitor center is closed on weekends and it is unfortunate because that is when perhaps we need your support for advice the most, but there will be reasons for it. They have parking and restrooms available. It's a beautiful park..!!

Love this place. Such a peaceful park and the trails are clean and taken care of! I love to do a quick hike around the stream or head up into the fields for a longer one.

Have hiked there for over a decade and never get old. Also, it has the ability to ride horses if you start at the stables. Very peaceful place. Nice fishing spots to.

Did a nice guided wildflower walk along Sober's Run today (4/19/2023). This state park with over 20 miles of trails is a gem; Henry's Woods, Bushkill Creek, it's old growth Hemlocks, White Pines & Tulip trees & history make it ideal for all ages. Just go! (Bluebells added a week later).

You can walk, you can run, you can hike, you can ruck. You can go alone, you can take your family. You can swim, watch the sunset or the sunrise. It's the perfect, local place to get grounded and recharge for the week.

Arrived early enough to get a parking spot near Henry's Woods trail. Very nice trails to walk with maps available. Met some riders on horses as well as other people walking with dogs and children. Easy level trails for the most part and a few steeper trails.

My favorite local place for an easy hike that’s pet friendly. Great on a hot day because you can walk in or dip your feet in the creek. As a rock hunting fan, it was exciting because there was tons of quartz and other rocks and debris left over from when there was a forge at the park.

We drove 1.5 hours but it absolutely worth it, we loved every corner of it. It has very beautiful landscapes and easy trails. Most importantly it is kids and dogs friendly. Btw, be careful at the picnic area our son had tick bite.

Stunning scenery and very well maintained walking trails. Would recommend as a great place to hike and walk from beginners to more experienced hikers. One of the best facilities around.

A must go magical place for all seasons. Take a swim in the kid and dog-friendly creek/river! This place will never disappoint you.

Try going very early before others arrive for an even more peaceful and heavenly experience.

Be one with Mother Nature! One of the best places to go on a nature walk and enjoy all its natural beauty! Nice trails! Some are a little primitive... So be careful ! Others are family friendly.

Jacobsburg State Park is one of the most magical places you can visit. Yes, the cliff path and Henry's Woods are enjoyable, but challenge yourself to find the many other paths less trod upon. My wife and I have been walking Jacobsburg for many years, but the recent pandemic has given us the gift of discovering the natural beauty of the park through all of the seasons. The subtle, incremental changes from late winter to early spring to late spring to summer are just gorgeous. Different types of flowers and foliage pop up and wither, giving rise to new ones. From the yellows of April to the purples of August, Jacobsburg never disappoints.
