Mike and Tony are a wellspring of knowledge and are always more than happy to help find something for any occasion and any price range. It’s clear they take a lot of consideration in their offerings and are not wines you’ll find in other stores. Their pairing dinners are incredibly fun as well.

Michael, Mark and Tony are well educated in the growth, production and sale of wines of the world. They specialize in wines from small producers in the south of France, Italy, Spain and Oregon. Tell them something of what you are looking for and they will satisfy your tastes. The service is friendly and the prices are competitive. If you love the Oregon Pinot Noirs, Fountainhead is the place to go.

Fountainhead is a gem of a store, and a great destination for wine and spirits lovers.
It's a place where you can hang out and learn from the knowledgable staff...I usually work with Mark, who is the nicest of people. Each time I leave with something new that 1) broadens my horizon, 2) isn't easily available elsewhere and 3) reminds me that I should visit more often.

The best wine store in Connecticut. Check out their fabulous artisan producers from France, Argentina, Chile and of course the US. Great value on excellent wines under $20.

Thought I would update. Years later they have paid about half of their debt and seem to have no inclination to pay the rest. After paying a portion we received a letter asking us to remove our poor review. As if paying somewhere around 50% of a debt in excess of $15,000 was worthy of note. Since that time they seem to be self-satisfied with stealing only somewhat less from us.

Of course, they keep the shop open by not paying the producers they work with. Buy from them and know that you are buying from a dishonest vendor that essentially steals from the small producers they are getting the wine from.

Fountainhead has owed us over $15,500 for over two years now. The last payment they made was on 3/15/2018 for $170. They do not like this review being up here and even texted the attorney handling this matter to say, "Please ask Jim to take down his review. I guarantee it will not help anybody." Not sure how we are being helped currently so it would seem posting relevant information about whom people are doing business with is a valuable service. They are still selling wine so they are generating income, they must be paying some vendors, they are apparently able to live their lives and whatnot, etc. Just know that we have not been paid a substantial amount of money and, no doubt, they sold that wine quite some time ago. Basically they made a choice in who to rip-off and it was us. There may be other wineries or vendors in the same boat. I don't know. I do know that we are a small, family winery that is out $15k to this operation.
