Vinton Family Restaurant

The level of cleanliness at Vinton Family Restaurant was not the best, floors were dirty. The bathroom was extremely outdated; While the toilet and sink were clean the walls, floor, counter and room divider we're rusty, crusty and musty.
I ordered the Plain Bacon Cheeseburger with Homemade Chicken Noodle Soup. It was good. The prices were affordable, and you definitely get what you pay for.
Overall, while my time was enjoyable I probably wouldn't highly recommend it to anyone and I probably won't be going back myself.

I had the all you can eat walleye. I can eat alot and was hungry and 5 of them filled me up well. I like trying different places for fish. I like the different batters used. And theirs was a keeper. It was a nice big place with friendly staff.

I will give them a 5/5 (even though they forgot my dessert, which was supposed to be included with my meal).
The staff were all working really hard and were very busy but you did not have to wait long.
Food selection was excellent with tons of specials.
We were happy with what we had for the portion size and price (although I didn't love the seasoning sauce on the vegetable stir fry and the veg were a bit over-done).
Hot turkey sandwich was huge and wonderful (so says my dining companion)
The place was busy, and everyone was enjoying their meals. So thank you!

Second time that I have been here. The first time was a disappointment. The waitress spent more time talking to the kitchen staff than taking care of the customers. This time they had just a few more people but had a few more wait staff. The one who took care of the two of us was very kind and understanding. Explained certain costs of substituting the food items. Will be back if I have a chance. Almost didn’t want to after the first encounter

Pretty standard comfort food, but we'll done with a wonderful atmosphere. Vinton isn't a big place so it's often very busy. Still has great food.

We had a noon reservation for 12 elderly adults. The class of 1956 was arriving from near and far. It was mentioned at the time of making reservations that we would have walkers, wheelchairs and canes yet we were placed in a tight space and left to our own demise to get in and out. However the service was prompt. The food was very tasty and generous portions. Priced reasonably.

While visiting briefly from North Carolina, I had the pleasure of having breakfast at this restaurant. While Iowa may not have the southern sweet tea staple I'm used to, this restaurant proves they have the most fluffy waffles I have ever seen! Next time I visit, the Vinton Family Restaurant will be on my roadmap! 😋

Great food and service with very reasonable prices. Had the steak and shrimp special, and it did not disappoint. Nice sized steak, cooked perfectly, and a lot of shrimp for $16.95, yeah $16.95 and that included soup or salad, choice of potato, and desert. My wife had some sort of shrimp stir fry dish that also had a generous amount of shrimp, and included the same side options as mine for $12.95. Server was very attentive, and all the staff we interacted with were very friendly. My wife complained that the Women's restroom was small and cramped, but otherwise, everything else was good in terms of accessibility. A very nice well run family restaurant. Would highly recommend.

Tuesday Aug 29 me and coffee buddy went from Cedar Rapids for breakfast. BEST BREAKFAST I HAVE HAD IN A LONG TIME. Everything was exceptional ! Thanks for the great restaurant, definately will be back OFTEN

Food was good, service was fast, just a simple all American Diner.

I ordered hot beef with hash browns and iced tea,with out tip it was under 10$. Staff is always polite and efficient.

The food was delicious and the service was great!

Came in at 10 minutes to close on a Sunday. They still made me a great hamburger and fries.

Well I was on my motorcycle when a BIG storm rolled in. They let me sit in there and watch without ordering anything so I didn't get rained on while on the bike. Everybody in there was extremely nice and greeted me with smiles. I have eaten here before and won't lie the steak and eggs were amazing. I'm making this review to also say thank you very much.

GREAT place for a Breakfast type diner. They have a pretty decent selection of food in the menu that gets out to you with relative quickness and decent prices for what you get! Staff is great, atmosphere is pretty generic so if you're looking to go somewhere and just have some good food and no worry about anything else, this is a great quick stop! (Get their waffles, they are SO good!)

They have good food. Service was good and checked how everything was done. I eat there again when I get back there.

Our family loves this restaurant! The food is always good but even more the service is always great! The young ladies who serve the tables are always so kind and my two young girls love going there and chatting with them. We live locally and this is always one of our go to spots.
