Caroline's Restaurant

Caroline’s was a pleasant surprise. Housed on the lower level of the prestigious Hotel Julien in downtown Dubuque, this restaurant has a terrific dinner menu. I decided to have a light dinner and chose the restaurant’s signature White Bean Chicken Chili and Paradise Salad. The chili was creamy with a subtle heat and outstanding flavor. I enjoyed the salad, which was copiously sized and served with warm rolls and whipped butter. Truly a treat.

We had breakfast here recently and it was AAAmazing!! Service was very, very fast and food was a 10/10!! Try these guys out ASAP!

We went for breakfast on a late Saturday morning and it was great. Not busy and great service. Bloody Mary's were delicious. We ordered eggs Benedict and banana bread french toast, highly recommend both! It was definitely more than we could eat, so good price for portion sizes. We will definitely be back.

One of the best cinnamon lattes ever! The eggs Benedict was solid, nothing crazy, but the hash browns were delicious with the extra cheese and onion. Great place for catching up in a cozy atmosphere

Fantastic experience. Excellent food, service and atmosphere. White Bean Chili might have been the most delicious food I ever had. Everything else was great as well, including the free dessert (if you stay at the hotel). Service is spot on with a great eye on detail, super friendly, and efficient. Cocktails are good, but a little more crafty upstairs at the Riverboat lounge (ask for Carl).

One of the few restaurants in Dubuque to actually improve food quality in the last few years. Blackened chicken pasta was very good.

One thing it could use is tablecloths. It'd help upscale dinners in particular.

Service was good and the food was too! Sunday morning and we were able to be seated promptly. Friendly waitress (Jen) and efficient! Thanks for a great breakfast!

Very nice restaurant that's been going strong in Dubuque for a long time. Sunday breakfast is especially amazing. If you go on that day request Jen because she is the best waitress hands down.

I was looking in several places for biscuits and gravy! I'm really glad I came here because it's delicious and was affordable and they had great service

Went in on a Saturday morning for brunch. Eggs Benedict was great! My husband got an omelet and it was enough for 2 people. Went back for dinner the next night and the pork loin was excellent. But the BEST was the espresso martinins after dinner. Wow!

Great food, pretty solid drink list, and quick service. Highly recommend this place

Nice high end restaurant that impressed our group of high-rollers. My trout was delicious and the others spoke very highly of the steaks. Wine was great as well, and they had a good selection of craft brews. Moderately priced for a restaurant of this caliber, too.

Have not had a bad experience here! If you're looking for a higher class atmosphere, this is a good choice.

My experience was great. I unknowingly came in right before they briefly close at 10:30 am, and they were very accommodating. My coffee and water were always full. The biscuits and gravy with browns and onions topped with two sunny up eggs was spot on and delicious as well as generously portioned. Best of all was my server, Jamie. She was terrific and had a to go cup of coffee in my hand before I was even fully prepared with my gear for the cold outside. Outstanding.
