Timmerman's Supper Club

Not every “supper club” is a supper club. Timmermans is what I consider the real deal as far as getting the whole supper club experience. Great location with nice views. Really not a bad seat in the place. Nice little old school bar. Wide variety of characters enjoying meals that gout enjoys visiting but who cares if you mouths watering. Felt like a few generations of car dealers were enjoying themselves on this day. Great staff that knows the menu but doesn’t pretend it’s sophisticated just good food in a traditional supper club way. It’s been around for awhile and theirs a reason for that. Good food, good service, nice views and conversation with smiles from one table to another. Enjoy!

Timmerman’s is the kind of place that regulars have been coming for the last 50+ years. It’s also the kind of place that younger generation like mine are rediscovering.

Located on a scenic bluff just past Dubuque, Timmerman’s serves classic supper-club fare with quality unmatched by anyone else in the area.

If you’re looking for a creative and modern menu, check out other place in Dubuque. The menu here is time honored and proven. All our food was delicious and came out in great timing.

There was a slight issue. My prime rib came out severely overcooked. But hey, it happens. No place is perfect. Our server was kind and replaced it with another within minutes. The rest of our dinner went on swimmingly.

Speaking of the service, it is obvious that it is a priority here. Our party of 9 felt like family and very well taken care of. It was a busy Saturday evening with people coming in and out nonstop. Never once did we feel like we were forgotten about. Our server handled our party with poise, even though there were several colorful personalities:)

There’s no enforced dress code, but dudes, please wear a collared shirt.

I would highly recommend Timmerman’s to anyone spending time in the Dubuque/Galena area.

A Memorable Dining Experience at Timmerman's

My wife and I recently visited Timmerman's Supper Club in East Dubuque for a lovely dinner outing. As soon as we walked in, we were captivated by the warm ambiance and stunning views that this place is renowned for.

We decided to go for the steaks, and it was a decision we didn't regret. The steaks were cooked to perfection, juicy and flavorful, complementing the elegant setting. Our two boys, who are big fans of burgers, were delighted with their choices. The burgers were hearty and delicious, leaving them completely satisfied.

What made our experience even more special was the exceptional service provided by our server, Tracy. Her attentiveness, friendliness, and professionalism truly stood out, making us feel welcome and well taken care of throughout our meal.

Timmerman's Supper Club exceeded our expectations with its delectable cuisine, inviting atmosphere, and top-notch service. It's a place we would highly recommend to anyone looking for a memorable dining experience in East Dubuque.

Stopped for a Birthday Dinner for my sister. What a great place to celebrate! The restaurant was a bit busy but no worries as we had reservations. Great table by the windows overlooking a bit of the Mississippi River area, (great views). Wait people were all happy and knew their jobs. This is a 1950's era supper club....the food arrived delicious & hot. I had a 10 ounce steak that was exceptional. The rest of my party ordered Fish, (salmon) and all seemed pleased. Great atmosphere & dinner place, well done TimmerMan's!

What a beautiful restraunt. It was my first time being here and I'd say it's 5 stars across the board. The view is amazing, the staff is very friendly and the food is delicious. Our waitress was very attentive, helpful and fun. I ordered the seafood platter (go big or go home) and got lobster, crab, cod and oysters which were all so good. The menu is pricey which is understandable for the food you're getting but i promise it's worth it.

We have a group of 12 that travel. This is our 3rd and last year to travel to Galena area. A coworker recommended Timmerman's. The view is beautiful, and structure of the building is unique. When you are seated the menus are presented up, like a book, with a small slice of cornbread on each plate. My husband and I had a 4 stuffed mushroom appetizer. They were very big and so delicious! Then the salad with a raspberry vinegarette dressing. I should have gotten it on the side. I got the garlic roasted scallops with a wild rice basil pesto sauce on it. The scallops were cooked perfectly but flavor was faint, but if you have a fork filled with the rice in the same mouthful you can taste everything. I got a side of asparagus, I would have liked it cooked a tad longer. My husband's ribeye was perfect and delicious with garlic mashed potatoes. They have a full bar and an extensive wine list. This was a definite highlight for our trip!

WOW. Truly an awesome dining experience. Top notch in all aspects. All employees were amazing. The view of the river from the whole dining room is absolutely stunning.

Great atmosphere. Food was good too. I had gulf shrimp and my wife had filet mignon. Both were very good. Open views through huge windows was an added bonus. Will be going again in the near future.

Amazing experience. We were traveling though and were able to get a table here. So glad we did. The corn bread was the best I’ve had, ever. I never even thought corn bread would be something to write about, but wow, so good. My steak was perfect, service was on point. They nailed it.

Went for the Sunday brunch and it was awesome! More food to choose from than any other brunch I've been to. Can't wait to go back the next time I'm in the area!

Seafood Platter has a good mix of seafood. Prime Rib was tender and delicious.

Classic Midwest American supper club with top end food and service.

I recommend this for everyone from singles to spouse dates to family outings.

This was a dining experience at it's best!!! An old school full service restaurant with "service" at the forefront.

I would be remiss if I did not mention the breath taking view of the river and valley. It's amazing!

I had the 14oz. Smothered Pork chop that was the evening special. It was a meal sized for two an very delicious. My husband had the New York strip which was cooked to perfection.

All portions were huge and our server, Bailey, was absolutely wonderful!!!

There are some places in this world that should be experienced by everyone. Timmerman’s is one of those places. My siblings and I traveled to Galena with our spouse to spend a week together. Having traveled from near and far, our first night was spent at a round table near the window at sunset. The service, the food and the atmosphere made for a memorable evening. It felt both retro and modern all at the same time. From the sweet cornbread placed at our table to the delicious steaks, chops and ribs, everything felt special. Bria was a terrific server whose kind, sweet demeanor added to the evening. This is a special place that shouldn’t be missed.

Steak cooked to perfection, salad with fresh homemade dressing and a shrimp cocktail. I call that a wonderful meal. My second time here and it is consistent in quality and service.
A scenic view over the Mississippi River Valley, to bad it was raining my pics would of came out better. It also has a nice bar. To bad we live in a time of social distancing. I would love to talk to others but I didn’t let that stop you from a martini.
Price is as to be expected at a upper end supper club but not a budget breaker. Treat yourself you only live once.

I'm from Wisconsin and have eaten at many "supper clubs" in my 76 years. This was one of the best. The view was spectacular overlooking the Mississippi River and Dubuque across the river. The food was excellent and so was the staff. We were sure glad we found this gem.

It was just what we were looking for. A wonderful supper club from another era! Great food, good service, lovely views. We enjoyed the fancy martinis, the bonus cornbread, and the atmosphere. The food was reasonably priced. Recommend visiting during sunset!

My wife and I enjoy trying new places, especially ones that will leave a lasting impression. The location is on top of a bluff that over looks water, a railway, and you can see Dubuque. We timed our visit to end our dinner with the sun setting. My wife had the steak and shrimp, I had the New York steak with cheese on top and mashed potatoes. All the steaks come with mushrooms and a few onions. Food was timely, service was excellent, we will be back!
