1776 Steakhouse

A birthday celebration for my husband is always about prime rib and this is the place to get anything steak! It was thick and delicious he said. I had the black raviolis and it was so good, the creamy sherry sauce was delicious not overpowering in sherry. It was not too filling for me that I had a cup of ice cream after for dessert. Another favorite of my husband's is banana cream pie which both my son and husband ordered, a very generous portion that he said was the best he ever had. Our server Ellie and the rest of the staff were outstanding, we didn't have to ask for anything. They would quietly come and fill our water and clear our plates without interrupting our conversations. They were all awesome! I gave the atmosphere a 3 star because it was very congested when we walked in and had a difficult time getting to the small bar where we waited for our table to be ready, we arrived about 10 mins before our reservation. It was a little loud when we sat down at our table, it was difficult for me to hear across the table until some of the patrons cleared out. But I would definitely recommend the place. It was busy! And it was a Tuesday night!

Absolutely delicious meal at 1776 Steakhouse. The food was simply scrumptious, and the service was attentive, polite, and truly made us feel welcomed. Our server, Xander, did an excellent tour of the menu, making personal recommendations and ensuring our needs were met. My wife found her lobster tail divine, and I very much enjoyed my Frenched bone-in ribeye, which was soft, juicy, and flavorful.I had the French onion soup as a starter, and it was truly like drinking liquified magic. As a non-drinker, I greatly appreciated the quality of their sparkling water. Their desserts were also very lovingly crafted. Overall, we had a truly lovely time at 1776 Steakhouse, and would make it a destination for a special occasion. My compliments to the chef, and thank you to Xander for being a great server!

Just ate here and this is a great local steak house. Lots of seating but on the weekends you must make a reservation to dine here. They have a nice selection of steaks and they’ll bring them raw to your table to help you choose which one you may want. Of course they also have fish and a kids menu as well. Excellent deserts, good mixed drinks and even Trappist beers to choose from. If you want a good steak after the beach then I recommend this restaurant.

incredible experience. the service was helpful and friendly, it is obvious they make good customer service a priority. very romantic setting, with candles and a gentleman setting the mood with the piano. waitress was very sharp, she ran down the list of every special and even brought out a platter showcasing each steak on the menu. and wow, WHAT A STEAK! I got the 44oz Tomahawk special, I'm not even joking when I say it was the best I have ever had. everything was wonderful. Thank you 1776, you made a memory we will never forget.

Incredible, Go!, We’ve been coming down from Lancaster County For over a decade now and this is always, ALWAYS The very FIRST Stop on Our List Go, Tom is Unbelievable and The whole staff really are so special, The food by the way, Take it from an award winning Chef, I’ve never had anything less than a Five Star spectacular experience Here, The food is all so superb, the mixed greens salad and / or their Wedge salad Are Unbelievable but the mixed greens salad comes with the single best dressing I’ve EVER Had, and the Filet trio is my new favorite, The desserts are always a must Here and we never get dessert anywhere else, Their Key Like Pie and Creme Brûlée are second to none!

Everything was excellent. The steaks are delicious and tender, the service is excellent and staff is very friendly and attentive. I highly recommend visiting 1776 for any occasion, you won't be disappointed.

This was my first visit ( 11/10/23) and was a special suprise. My best friend took me out to treat me and gift me time. I loved our server who took time to answer questions, chat and joke with us. The wine list was nice and we chose the Zolo(Argentinian Malbec) and it was delightful.
We both opted for the 1776 steak( a filet top with lump crab and a cream sauce atop mash and paired with asparagus). We also added 1 serving of seared scallops. The steak was lovely but the all star were those scallops! They were large and perfectly cooked. They melted like butter in your mouth.
We ended our dinner with the creme brulee cheesecake which was an interesting take on a classic dessert. It was absolutely delicious!
I will definitely add this to my list of local places to visit for a special occasion or dinner.

My 80 year young husband has Parkinson's Disease, which is rapidly declining and in a Nursing Home. Our 46th Anniversary was July 9th and I knew I couldn't take him to the restaurant, so I asked them to come to us and they did. Everything was delicious. Thank you 1776 and Tom for making our day so special and unforgettable. You are 1 special person in my book. I am thankful for those good people that are still out there.

One of the best places in Sussex county! Always delicious, great service, warm and welcoming staff!

4 years ago visited for a steak, and so impressed that today, 4 years later I chose it as my birthday menu. So we came from Arundel, Sussex, UK to meet up with friends and went for a steak. Sounds simple, but the care and attention is out on a raft on its own, the food is exceptional, the staff are the icing on the cake, to make an evening special. When you come out of an establishment, feeling full, happy, and that it felt so good you are on cloud9, it remains in your mind as something good. It's good, trust me as an honest Brit, its the jewel in the crown folks.

Excellent food and service! We hadn’t been for about 20 years after eating there shortly after My father retired from the GPOin ‘99 and
moved from Olney, MD to the eastern shore. He passed on 1/15/24 and while down dealing with things, my wife and I decided to give 1776 a try again and it was better than I remember! Reservations required. Make them at least a week in advance! The house cheesecake was phenomenal!

Went for our 30th wedding anniversary. Whole experience was fabulous from start to finish. The house special steak was incredible. Wait staff and the owner made multiple passes to make sure we had everything we needed. Great experience!!

Dinner was amazing and the waiter Paul put it over the top!! Service was incredible. He recommended a blue cheese topping on my steak that just pushed it over the edge for the best flavored steak I’ve ever had. Unfortunately I unknowingly left my credit card at the restaurant but Paul hunted us down to return it. We will be back next time we are in the area. Thanks again for a great experience.

The quality cook, and taste of my French Cut Ribeye was absolutely perfect, the au poivre sauce devine, the wine spot on, and our waitress and her service to our table was the perfect accompaniment. An absolute 5! HIGHLY RECOMMEND

All around amazing experience. The servers were great, the dining experience was amazing. It was the best steak I've had in a restaurant, and the cheesecake made me enter an alternate dimension in which I had no problems.

Wonderful place! My husband took me for my birthday dinner and I couldn’t be more pleased. I saw a couple bad reviews saying it was to loud to be considered romantic but I absolutely disagree. It was mildly loud with many happy guests having conversation but not so loud we were distracted or unable to hear each other. It was nice an cozy. Many employees and the owner came to greet us and made us feel welcomed and well cared for. The food…omg!!! The best steak I’ve ever had in my entire life. Everything was absolutely perfect! I highly recommend this place.

A fine dining colonial inspired American steakhouse. A low light and intimate setting with a piano player in the background brings together quality steak and a worthwhile experience that you'll be asking to come back for. Don't let the strip mall appeal fool you, this is a grade A real local gem in Rehoboth located off of the coastal highway. P.S. try the basil butter 🧈.

We know the food is always excellent at 1776 in Rehoboth, but our experience on our last family visit with a party of 9 was made extra special by our server, Xander. This young man knew the menu inside and out, he recommended additions to our meals, was probably the most attentive server ever, was kind and very sociable. I would rate our service a 10. I hope 1776 realizes what a gem they have and I hope they make sure he continues representing this wonderful restaurant!!

We just had the barrel steak and a slice of creme brulee cheesecake. Jodi is absolutely amazing. Be sure to ask for her if you are looking for a great dining experience.
