Tiki Taco

Tiki Taco is a great little joint in downtown OP. The shrimp tacos were good but the 'Dripping' Birria tacos were freaking awesome. Unfortunately I didn't get the bartenders name, but he made a bomb spicy margarita... I think I'm a lightweight now because it hit me HARD.

THIS PLACE IS SUCH A VIBE!! Fun, colorful atmosphere with lots of seating and space at the bar. So many creative menu items to choose from, including several great vegetarian options.

The people there are a prime example of how nice everyone is in Overland Park. The food was exemplary. However, I didn't have a chance to taste the thai variations of what was available.

First time coming here and it was incredible! The staff was very welcoming and the food and drinks were amazing. I’d highly recommend the birria tacos and the street corn. We will be coming back!!

Great little taco joint. The only thing is I wish they had more outdoor seating. But the food is so good and the prices are great.

This place is great! We ordered takeout so not the full dining experience but from I saw the place looked great with a full patio on this beautiful weekend day (a fairly small restaurant but a fun vibe for sure).

We loved the food! First of all, kudos to the team here for the beautiful photos of their food on their menu/Yelp page. I had the chimi with chorizo as it looked good and not something I encounter at all Mexican restaurants. DELICIOUS and I found it even more filling than I anticipated.

My wife really enjoyed the tacos and said “this might be the best queso I’ve ever had.” High praise. I enjoyed the queso as well.

It was all also very reasonably priced. Looking forward to returning!

I made an impromptu decision to eat lunch here after shopping with my toddler. The staff was extremely friendly and kind not only to me, but to my daughter as well. The cashier gave me AMAZING taco recommendations- the birria taco and Thai chicken were so good! When my toddler got a random wild hair and swiped my tacos off the table and onto the floor before I was finished, the chef immediately noticed and went back to make me another taco at no cost- even though it was our fault. They were all so kind and understanding and amazing service like that beyond fantastic food should absolutely be recognized. Thank you all so much for such a wonderful and stress free lunch experience!

I just moved back from South Florida so it's hard to find street tacos that are actually good here in kansas but this place was amazing! I love that everything is fresh and clean. The anesthetic and the music in the shop really called to my elder-emo soul as well! The bartender was really cool I'm glad I found this place!! If you haven't tried it you definitely should!!

First time eating at this location. It was awesome. We tried the Tiki bowl (with chicken), crispy taco (ground beef), street taco (pulled pork), KC burrito (carne asada and rice), and the street corn (best I’ve ever had).
All of the meat was delicious~nothing was dry, and it all had great seasoning. The bowl is my new favorite~lots of fresh toppings.
If you order it to-go, you don’t need to go inside! They have a to-go window to the side of the main entrance. Just ring the bell and they’ll hand your food right to you. Great concept!

Had two of the veggie tacos (the tempura avocado was SO delicious) and two of the street tacos with mushrooms — everything was fresh and full of flavor. The service was friendly, quick, and accommodating! Already excited to go back for next Taco Tuesday.

This was an unexpected gem. We were looking for somewhere open close to my friends house on the way back from a concert. The atmosphere and food were amazing. I loved the side of refried beans so much I thought about ordering more. We have already been telling people about it.

My spouse and I love this place. The food is very tasty and has original concepts. The aesthetic is very fun and vibrant. The staff and owner is very friendly and personable. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting downtown OP.

This was my first time here, and i was unsure of what to order. Kaitlyn was so nice, and recommended me some of the best food i have ever had. - i will def be back for more recommendations from her.

Went here for the first-time last week. It was really good overall. There is a bar but we ordered from the window inside and sat outside. Staff was very friendly and attentive. I got the Thai Chili Pork Burrito and it was great. My dad got the chimi with steak. He said it was good, too. Brother got 3 tacos which all looked and tasted great. He like the Dripping Birria Taco the best which is what I’ll try next time. The only thing I found odd is that nothing comes with a sauce/salsa. You have to order that separately for an additional charge. Since this was the first time any of us had been there we did not know this and ended up eating our food with no salsa or hot sauce. We will know next time because we will definitely be back.

Had the Fish Baja taco and the crunchy chicken taco. They were favorable and delicious! Prices are reasonable with very friendly service. Well definitely visit again!

I've ordered take out once and visited this location twice. Loved the indoor decor and margs were great. Wonderful and friendly staff as well as the owner. Several of the tacos were amazing, with the Thai, birria and shredded pork (great taco tues special as well) being the best. The shredded pork may be one of my favorite in town and I often try carnitas tacos.

One more thing, the tiki choco is an amazing dessert. Local ice cream company makes it and it's def worth giving a try. Loved it!!

Negative: Only one negative, they charge for salsa and they come in tiny containers. However, their hottest salsa has a great flavor and is very good. Spoke with several friends who've tried the place and we all hope they change the salsa policy.

Still 5 stars, but want more of the hot salsa!!

Tacos were delicious! Shrimp taco was by far my favorite! Friendly staff and super fast service! Didn’t get a chance to try the drinks, but they look really good as well.

First time, ordered to-go. Wow! Atmosphere was great, staff just seemed genuinely happy and were super kind, and the food was amazing (Burrito,Tacos, Cheese Dip)! Will be back…often!
