wonderful people work at this location! in particular I can say about one of them... a giant, pure and generous heart! I clean this place, and the books are really rare, very well cared for, and special.

I had a wonderful experience buying an 120 year old book from PRBM! The book I wanted was being sold by Barnes & Noble for $30 but was in pretty poor condition with lots of water damage. I was able to find it being sold by PRBM for $35 in such perfect condition and they even offered me free shipping! The buying experience was so easy. Everyone I talked to from email to phone call, were extremely nice, friendly, and professional. With the book, they included a little slip with information about the books owner history and where it's been. So awesome! I will definitely be purchasing from them again.

I have had the inordinate pleasure of dealing with PRB&M many times, as a customer, over the past 20 years, and have found them to be absolutely professional in every way. They have also been most attentive to detail and personable in a very human way, making all my dealings with them satisfying and pleasurable. They remain far and away my favourite antiquarian booksellers to this day.

In a time when bookstores are an endangered species, here is one with style and elegance. Housed in a historic building (former officer's house) in a historic site (former Frankford Arsenal, active from the Civil War to the Cold War, now a business center), PRB&M is a warm and welcoming space to look at a carefully selected collection of books (and manuscripts) both rare and readable. The collection is open by appointment, and many Saturdays are 'open house' (in the great tradition of rare book dealers, coffee, cake, wine, and conversation are on the menu). PRB&M's website is an essential guide to their treasures. The website highlights new arrivals, and the index allows one to search for items by specific category.
