One of my favorite things about this place is the small simple menu! I have to favorite hear and an honorable mention. Number 1, the delicious fried scallops! They're a must try. Number 2, the Burger is absolutely perfected, easily in my top 3 burgers. Third is the smoked fish dip for an appetizer(ask for some crackers on the side).

The best meal I’ve had in Cape May in 10+ years First sign of a top tier experience is the service of COLD water. Everything we ordered was exceptional. Service was great. The brioche bread pudding was the best dessert I’ve had in Cape May, until I tried the peach crumble special. Both memory making desserts to cap off a 10/10 meal. Not pictured: fried scallops, PEI mussels, fried calamari all fire.

We had to visit our namesake while we were in Cape May this last time... Dinner was good, they have a smaller menu which is fine because where they shine is their drink menu. Every single thing we ordered was wonderful. From the calamari to the crab fritters. And the Cold front cocktail was a favorite of everyone!

Amazing meal. The small menu just means that everything they make is amazing. It was the best meal we have had in Cape May in years.

Mayers is the best in town. We crave their food. The scallop platter, the burger, the kale salad , the clams……😀

I started w a side salad that had a great Challot vinaigrette! Excellent. One item to note. You can’t serve a salad outdoors on a teeny tiny rectangle dish. I could not even cut up my lettuce without is blowing and falling off the plate. Please. It was so tasty but I’m not eating lettuce after it’s fallen on the table. Just change the plate.
I had the seafood tower which did not disappoint. Everything was chilled perfectly!
The main event was for sure the scalllops. Cooked so good they tasted like butter. Just melted in your mouth. The Cole slaw was good too. Fries cooked well but could have been a bit warmer. Not mushy. But not hot either. We will be back!

The oysters were the best oysters I’ve had since visiting Ireland. The shrimp, the mussels, and clams were all wonderfully fresh and tasty. Best spot for seafood!

Bartenders and servers were great. Super helpful for out of towners. Gave us many recommendations outside of their establishment. Food was great. Burgers were stellar. Kept the kitchen open late for us as we were traveling in. Nice atmosphere with big open outside area on the marina. Will go back when I’m in the area.

Recently redone and upgraded this is no longer a fisherman's shot and beer bar expect a chic local vibe with a new outdoor deck and large open bar window with a view of the deck. The menu is limited but all of the appetizers are excellent. Indoor seating with air conditioning or outdoor seating Worth the visit as many locals and Cape May tourist have found this new spot. If you boating in the area at South JERSEY marina or Cape May Marina its less than a five minute walk. If you are coming from the Cape May Whale Watcher you are. Across the parking lot. As of July 2018 the are only serving dinner and open at 5pm

Unquestionably the best scallops in Southern Jersey! Crab fritters have an amazing flavor. If you have not tried Mayer's you are missing out on great food.

The crab appetizer, burger, and scallop meal were all exceptional. Will make this a regular stop when we visit Cape May.

I love this place! Fresh food, delicious cocktails and fun wine.

My wife and I ate here, Tuesday night on the 20th. Our server was Riley and she is AWESOME! She was friendly and always had a smile on her face. 10 stars for her. We ordered the large shellfish tower which had a dozen large shrimp, raw clams and Oysters. They were fresh and terrific. Another 10 stars.
The drinks........the drinks ..WOW. This establishment knows how to serve a drink. My wife had the Cold Front and I had a Long Island Iced tea. They actually put alcohol in there drinks, nothing watered down here. 10 stars for that as well. This place was on our radar for sometime and I'm glad we went there. If you are in Cape May, make sure you stop and visit Mayers, you will be glad you did. I can only give 5 stars here, but they deserve more, way more.

Another year, another review. Mayer's never ceases to amaze me with the quality of the food on their menu. The scallops and muscles were cooked perfectly and their sauce and side pairing was divine. Live music as always on point and service was prompt but relaxed. 5 stars as always. Small menu executed perfectly and the ambiance is exquisite. Will be back again later this summer after our daughter arrives.

Went to Mayer’s this evening for dinner outside under the spring sun on the patio and had the best time. Our sever Abby was absolutely amazing and really made our time there that much better.

I never ever leave reviews, but felt the need to hop on here to pass on to those checking this page out that you can’t go wrong with Mayer’s when in Cape May. The front of house staff is amazing, the kitchen crew knows what they’re doing, and overall you’ll have a wonderful experience. Get the scallops, you’re welcome.

Easily the best hidden gem in Cape May. My wife and I have visited Mayer's 10 times this season and even into the fall, not one disappointing experience. The menu is limited but executed perfectly, the chef really knows how to handle her fresh seafood. The ambiance is quaint and low-key, perfect for a date night with your spouse. The service is swift and attentive, and of course the food and drinks are sublime. Our favorite spot hands down.

Tried take out on a whim. Food is excellent! Best items were smoked Bluefish dip and crab fritters (order extra cilantro dipping sauce!). Takeout containers were boxes safe for environment which was nice. Kids loved their burgers and all the adults loved their small plates. Would like to return to try drink menu. Thanks for a delicious Sunday night dinner.

Being a non-seafood person for the most part, I came in with low expectations as the girls were eager to get more of the local flavor.

Lo and behold, I had what might have been the best burger I have ever eaten. BTW, the girls loved the oysters (both raw and broiled with Pimento cheese) and the scallops.

Friendly staff and a great atmosphere. I cannot recommend this place more when you visit Cape May.

Fabulous place for scallops! We couldn’t rave enough. Apps of shrimp, crab fritters, and bluefin spread were amazing!! To top it off the waitress was phenomenal… we I’ll definitely be back this summer.
