Black Duck On Sunset

I'm finishing up my salmon and it is awesome! Got it for take out, and they gave me some bread for dipping in the fantastic broth/sauce. I had some bad experiences at nearby restaurants and am very happy I gave Black Duck a try. They were very friendly and quick for an amazing meal. Pretty sure the pasta that comes with the salmon is handmade, certainly delicious...and don't trust the hours on Google as they are open more than it appears, give them a call!

The food is amazing along with the service. We had the orange almond salad, lobster bisque, lamb chops, halibut and flourless chocolate cake. We highly recommended The Black Duck

This place is the very best... Chris the owner and head chef is remarkable the food was beyond great. In fact canceled other reservations to to go back to eat there to again. The menu is wonderful but the food and service is just great. Crab cakes and filet mignon were beyond great... Go there and enjoy!!!

We had a “Crème Brûlée emergency” while vacationing in Cape May with my in-laws. My mother-in-law and father-in-law were excited to get some but the restaurants we had eaten at were always out. On our second to last night, on a whim, I called the Black Duck to see if they had Crème Brûlée and if they could seat 7 people on a busy Friday night. The hostess was so friendly! She checked with the kitchen (plenty of brûlée on tap!) and found us a lovely table where we could sit and enjoy some dessert. My mother-in-law proclaimed it was the best crème brûlée she had ever had! We also enjoyed some upside down peach cake, a flourless chocolate torte, and some sea salt panna cotta! Service was impeccable. The restaurant space is lovely. And the staff were friendly and accommodating. Black Duck is already on our list for a full meal (and dessert!) during next year’s Cape May vacation! Thanks for making my 80-year old in-laws happy!!

The Black Duck is an exquisite experience not to be missed. Chef Chris is an actual culinary genius. Flavors are nuanced and perfectly seasoned.The staff is friendly, warm and professional. Truly a treat. I had the duck which was delectable. Everything was a delight. Absolutely wonderful , so glad we went!

Friendly, prompt service, nice atmosphere and amazing food! Dined last night with a party of four and everything was delicious from beginning to end. We started with the Ribs, Crab and Duck Spring Rolls and Edamame Dumplings. We shared the Tomato Mozzarella Salad with Fig and Pesto - for entrees we had the Beef Stir Fry Special, Halibut, Lamb and Salmon. All were fantastic! Dessert was delicious as well. Highly recommend!

Food was outstanding, one of the best restaurants in cape may… new jersey even. absolutely beautiful presentation and everything tastes better than it looks which is hard to believe. One of the best meals i’ve had. We love Chris and his family and his restaurant is amazing

Excellent food and service -- we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The outdoor seating had a casual atmosphere and distancing was well set up. But there's no tent, so in poor weather it could be challenging. You have to call and leave a message to get a reservation, but it worked fine for us.

We've been coming here every year since they opened. Black Duck is a Cape May tradition, with an eclectic menu of delicious standards and a scintillating rotation of specials.

Bonus: like most restaurants in Cape May, this place is BYOB, and there's a fantastic wine and beer shop across the street.

Absolutely delicious. Best meal in Cape May that I've had, and that's saying a lot. Great service. Super nice staff. We had the duck, and a steak - both were fantastic, and well-presented. The fact that it's a BYOB means you're getting a good deal on wine (across the street) of your liking to go with the meal. The food is amazing.

Delicious with a charming al fresco ambiance. Even though the restaurant is on a somewhat busy street, the owners have successfully shielded patrons from the traffic with lovely potted shrubs and latticework; it, feels like an arbor! Terrific service with friendly waitress who took time to chat with us. Loved the restaurant, would return in a heartbeat. Asian-influenced dishes, and of course, we recommend the duck breast.

First time for us though family members had been coming here for years. Fabulous food, beautifully presented-shrimp toast appetizer and end of season melon salad are standouts, as are the halibut, lamb chops and duck breast dinner choices. Try not to skip dessert, they are delicious!Friendly, attentive service. BYOB.

Our 1st Outdoor dinner at Black Duck was absolutely amazing! The new outside seating area is very romantic and relaxing. Our server Valerie was friendly,fast and nice to chat with. The food was easy a 10!! Large portions and glasses supplied for our byob. The seafood risotto was the best seafood dish I ever had in my Life!

Our dinner last night was exquisite! I had the salmon and asparagus risotto that was perfect and my husband had the halibut and he loved it. Service was right on point and lovely atmosphere. Thank you Chris for a wonderful dinner. Kim and Jim
