Briglia's Tavern

My wife and I had an adventure at Briglia's Tavern in Berlin when we came in for Chef’s Tasting Thursday! This quaint little gem is on Route 73 near the expressway and it’s the perfect stop if you’re headed home from AC. We only live about 15 minutes away so we like to make Briglias our fine dining destination in the middle of a dive bar tour. The food there is always delicious! Chef Matt AKA Matty B knows how to cook and he’s constantly offering a variety of specials in addition to a full menu. Our first time there we sat at the bar, watched them make some tasty drinks, ordered a Ribeye, and had a great time chatting with everyone. When we went back for the Chef’s Tasting we sat in the cozy dining room. They also have outdoor seating and a large enclosed tent. We had Fried Tomato Scallop Caprese and Shrimp/Scallops wrapped in bacon for the appetizers along with a Garden Salad and French Onion Soup. For the entrees we chose Chilean Seabass Portofino and Parma Lamb Chops wrapped in prosciutto. We ended the meal with Chef Matt’s famous Tiramisu, which is my wife’s favorite and the highlight of our adventure! I also heard about their roast beef sandwiches so I got one for lunch when I was around there for work the other day. There is something about this small, intimate bar/restaurant that I love. Their broccoli rabe, white bean appetizer with sausage is something that I crave! It's so flavorful. Tonight, I enjoyed meatballs and marinara over penne, and my husband had a tasty chicken cheesesteak and wings. The garlic parm sauce has actual pieces of roasted garlic in it, which is so good on the wings. My vanilla bean creme brulee was great with a perfect sugar crust on top. When people say that small family owned restaurants are better than chain restaurants, Briglias is certainly a testament to that.

Such a cute little bar and seating area l visited for the good reviews and I was not disappointed everything was delicious that I ordered and I will definitely be back to try more.

Went for our first time because we saw they were going to have Buck A Shuck oysters. They had five types. Four from Virginia and one from Maryland. The staff were all very nice and the entrees were delicious and plentiful. I recommend reservations if you want to be seated inside otherwise you may be seated in the large enclosed well lit heated tent.

The food and service were outstanding. You won't be disappointed with either!
The pricing was very reasonable, especially with the level of service and their delicious food. Food portion size is generous as you'll witness several patrons taking home what they can't finish!!

The food was nothing short of amazing. The chefs sauces were just incredible. Something as simple as mussels in red sauce…. So much tastier here than anywhere else. We really tried the place out and ordered at least 10 different items. Don’t miss out on the crab soup either. The food is just phenomenal.

This joint is a small town bar with huge personality!! Great food , great service and great atmosphere. It was my first time here and everyone made me feel like they knew me. This place is a hidden gem I love it here and will definitely visit more often. Its home away from home !! Matt, Kevin and staff thank you for an incredible experience.

If you're lucky enough to get here Matt has an amazing thing going on. Everything from the quality of the food, the open kitchen, the warm hospitality- wow. Worlds better than any other restaurant in the area. Keep up the fantastic work! It's clear you truly care about what you do. Can't wait to return and very jealous my parents live down the street!

Where do I start (cause I don’t have an ending)? The delightful peppers served with bread? The meatballs & ricotta appetizer? The oysters? The Sunday Gravy special? The tavern sandwiches? Don’t get me started on the fried tomatoes! I’ve tried many dishes here and I’ve yet to be disappointed. The food is delicious (and beautiful), the drinks are refreshing (and fun), the staff are both professional and endearing, and Matt is passionate that your experience in his establishment is worthy of a 5 star review! I get excited every time we think about stopping in for a delicious meal, but I also look forward to seeing the amazing staff (Kevin, Tito, Amy, and all the other hard working ladies & gentlemen) putting their best foot forward with each order. The food, drinks, staff, and atmosphere will not disappoint - worth every dollar spent!!

Wow! Don't judge a book by its cover. It was our first time there. We saw really good reviews so we decided to check it out. The place is VERY small. When we got in we almost turned around and left. I am glad we didn't. We were in the back room. They actually had a singer in the room who was very good. The service was a little jumbled but not bad. The food is amazing. I had the ribeye steak which was outstanding. Portions were large and they give you bread and a salad. Calamari was very good also. Everyone enjoyed the meal and we are planning to return.

Love this restaurant. Small place with an upscale menu. Outside seating available too. Food is delicious and great specials. Buck a shuck is a must and f you enjoy raw oysters, mussels and shrimp. I am also a big fan of the Italian Manhattan as well as other in house drinks. The owner puts a lot of time and energy into the restaurant and it shows. Highly recommend this restaurant.

We've been wanting to come eat here for a while and finally did tonight. Everything was amazing! We sat at a high top table in the bar area. Food and service were awesome. Can't wait to make a reservation for a future date.

Food is always great and drink is always cold! I will update this review in a few weeks as they are going to be preparing the food for my sons 2nd birthday party! Shout out to Corey and the owner Matt for always giving the best.

Matt did an amazing job providing food for my sons 2nd birthday party! we decided not to cook this year and have the food catered and when with Matt as we have always loved his food! you can see in the attached pics what we got and while i think this post is a disservice, he went above and beyond with what he gave us! thank you, we will be sure to use you again! give 10 stars if i could!

2nd time here. Very nice and clean place ( even though I feel like the dining area is a little too tight for us). Food is good. Price is reasonable. Definitely recommend!

The food here is amazing! There is something for everyone. They have roast beef sandwiches and they have filet mignon - just depends on what you’re in the mood for, BUT no matter what you get, just know.... The quality and the taste of the food will blow you away!

The outside set up is also so cozy and inviting. The fire pit is perfect for a chilly fall night and some friends.

Oh and I can’t forget to mention how amazing the staff is!!!

Food here is excellent. They have the best stuffed long hots in the area. Everything we've had has been great. The Sunday Gravy is an amazing meal for a great price.

This place is great. Food is top quality, drinks are perfect and the menu always keeps you going back to try new things.

Went to briglias tavern for a post xmas appy tower and dinner with my staff, my private chef staff.
Tower was superb/ cold and very flavorful and alot for the money.
Dinner followed ....all of us couldn't finish our dinner order.....so we had doggie bags for later...if hungry.
My opinion...I eat at several places for breakfast to desserts.
Nothing can come close to our meal at the tavern.
Matt was a great host and owner along with our server.
Drinks were priced accordingly.
Will be back again for dinner.

This is a hidden gem. Food is prepared when you order staff are attentive. It is small but just big enough. Lunch was perfect!
