We always love walking at Southwestway Park. No matter what, we always end up walking a different path and it never disappoints. Everyone is always friendly too. A gorgeous 67 degrees w blue skies and sunshine warrant a walk outside even if it's only for a couple of hours!

Great for your lowkey hike. The area surrounding the park is nothing special and the actual park area which includes a playground, baseball fields and other parking areas is run down. There is also a big recycling dumpster on the property. OTHERWISE, the dirt/gravel trail system was great. The trails are poorly marked as in there is no actual map provided when you are there. So once we got a grasp of it from my Strava walking app, we walked the perimeter which was about a 3 mile walk. There are a lot of shoot offs and short cuts from each trail. Widened of trails vary. We enjoyed walking by the white river for a good portion of it. The parking lot was packed when we came at 12pm on a Sunday but there is additional parking, it’s just further away. The place also allows horses and bikes. There were a good amount of bikers, but the space was truly big enough that it didn’t seem busy at all. Do be aware of the bikers. You could walk all of the trails in a matter of a couple hours. Nice gem of a park in between Greenwood and downtown. Restrooms available.

Great place to get peace and quiet close to the city. The downside...they have a port-o-potty, but that's really the only negative thing I could possibly say!

Lots of nature trails, which we love. But our two year old did not have much to do as the slides are for big kids only as you have to climb over 6 ft to get up on unstable surfaces such as a vertical chain ladder or a rock wall with shallow rocks. But other than that it is a pretty cool place.

Close to home.. nice trails. Just wish the mountain bikes would stay on bike designated trails and not be on the hiking only trails. Guess they can't read. 🤔

Went for the mountain bike trails, but ran out of daylight dealing with a pesky flat tire, seems really nice, the playground is standard, there are ball fields you can use.
What bit of trails we went on were very nice.
You can find them on the app Trailforks.

This is a beautiful park with lots of trails in which we take our dog with us to go hiking and view the scenery. There are many different trails, all numbered and labeled as some are for horse riding, hiking and some for bicycling only. Our boxer dog loves going for walks here and we even get to walk down alongside the White River with some of the trails. There’s also a large park for children to play. I highly recommend this park for anyone who enjoys and can respect nature!

Tranquil relaxing trail.. rarely see anyone on the trail. However, occasional mountain biker does pass through. Take bug spray if it's warm weather. Enjoy the views

I have only visited this park to watch the grandkids play baseball. The concession stand had a nice variety of snacks at reasonable prices.

I believe the park has a decent playground as well as walking, hiking, and mountain biking trails that lead both uphill and down by the river.

I hadn’t been to this park before. It is large. And has sportsfields and trails. I went for the recycling. It’s a nice park!

Amazing place close to Indy to go mountain biking. PSA since no one told me this: you need to say something when you see a horse, you can't just sneak up on them or they'll get spooked. Always say hi to the horses. Very bad if you forget this like I did. The nature is solid even if the White River is a little nasty in places. Can't complain about this awesome park.

Great park. Gets muddy closer to river after a lot of rain. Great hiking and biking trail. Also allows you to bring horses. Playground for kids and also sports fields.

I really like visiting Southwestway Park for mountain biking but there are trails for all types of users. Trails are pretty well marked and range from horse only to shared use to bike only. As a rider, Southwestway has probably the best jump line in Central Indiana, and some of the longest descent and steepest climbs north of Brown County. There are several loops and it can be a little confusing finding your way around without a map. Once you figure out the layout, you will find trails ranging from beginner to advanced. You can easily get in 10 miles of riding without getting bored.
