Jones Trailhead

This is the east end of the Heritage Trail near Terre Haute Indiana. This trailhead is located south on Chamberlain behind the large church....parking available for 10+ cars. Restrooms are available at the rest stop less than 1/2 mile from trailhead and inside Hawthorne Park 2 1/2 miles west. This is a very nice rails-to-trail with lots of shade and interesting sight like activity field for DePauw and lake in Hawthorn Park. I felt safe on the trail as there were people using the trail and no areas of concern regarding "dark woods" areas. I enjoyed the small park about 3 miles into the walk next to the stream which flows through the area....not safe for wading, etc. Sitting benches are located throughout the trail. Good walk with kid but no "associated" playgrounds. There is a nice playground on the church's property but not sure it is available for the public.

Great place for an outside run, walk, or bike. The trail goes for a while and runs behind Rose-Hulman. Trees on both sides for majority of it, which is great for shade on super hot days. I run while my kids bike, and have never had any issues.

If you see a man wearing a blue coat near the memorial, approach him and give him 5 dollars. He is the Keeper of the Trail, and must be appeased in order to pass safely. In exchange for your toll, he will provide you with a token, which must be worn at all times.

Always enjoy biking on this trail. Its busy but smooth, has plenty of shade and greeters, makong our biking/exercise even more comfortable.

I cannot believe I have lived here so long and just now experienced this trail. I live super south and this trail is worth the drive!

I'm a proponent of this trail. There are benches, a clean restroom and water fountains along the trail.

Awesome trail from (East Glen) through the back of Rose Hulman then to isu campus. Poke' stop as well

Lots of parking for motorized bike carriers, and a great place to stop for a walk at lunch.
