East of Chicago

Great pizza in downtown Warren! They have great pizza, wings, and subs as well! Staff is always friendly. The buffet has changed in response to the Covid pandemic. They catered a sub employee lunch for my workplace, and everyone loved it!

After a long day of traveling, we found ourselves on a stretch of interstate with few options. Scanning Google maps for any upcoming options, my son find East of Chicago 17 miles away. Reviews looked promising, but ya never know what you're gonna get in random small towns. Upon turning off the interstate, we were initially worried. We didn't see much of anything. A few miles down a lonely stretch, a darling little town suddenly came into view. As we pulled into the lot for East of Chicago, we admired the quaintness of a cozy small town, complete with beautiful murals on the sides of really old buildings.

We hit at an off time... no longer lunch, but not quite dinner either. So there was no buffet but we were ok with that. They were changing out server shifts, so we had to wait just a few minutes, but didn't mind since we showed up at 3 in the afternoon. We were the only ones in the place. It had nice atmosphere. Lots of local photos from over the years. This place was so clean. Including the restrooms which were cutely decorated and had updated working soap and paper towel dispensers. Absolutely Immaculate.

Our server was an absolute gem. I wish I had gotten her name. The ticket says Tia, but they didn't wear nametags so I'm not sure if that was her or not. She was very helpful with our decision on what to order. She knew the product well. She had a very upbeat personality and was very outgoing. She gave a perfect balance of conversation, checking on us, and leaving us alone for appropriate lengths of time to enjoy our food and have our own conversations. I could tell she was proud of the work she did and often connects with her customers. She even helped direct us to the local dollar store to buy a phone charger and wished us well in our travels. Such a friendly lady.

The food was beyond delicious!
We started with the parmPops.... omg, easily the best "appetizer/side from a pizza place" we have ever had. Maybe even ANY type of restaurant! These little parm encrusted bowtie shaped bites of heaven were better than any other breadstick, cheese stick, etc we have ever had. Light and fluffy on the inside, with a delicate crispness to the outside. Excellent flavor. Paired perfectly with the marinara. The pizzas were incredible. Same light/fluffy/crisp as the parm bites. Beautifully topped. Excellent flavor on the cheese. Several innovative options on the menu. My kids opted for classic pepperoni on pan crust. I went with the taco pizza on pan, which far exceeded my expectations. Instead of pizza sauce, they used salsa, then added taco meat, then topped with cheese and baked. When baked, they added fresh lettuce, tomato, olives, shredded cheese, and sour cream. It was like a taco salad on top of a pizza! It was incredible!

Our only regret was that we live 4 hours away and won't be able to visit often. 10/10, would visit again!

Loves the buffalo chicken sandwich and buffalo wings Chicago fries were great as well efficient delivery food was hot and fast to arrive sweet folks as well will eat here anytime I’m in town again

This place is SO good! We stopped at the Comfort Inn off of I-69. We were happy to find that they delivered! The entire experience was great, very friendly staff that took the order and the delivery guy was great as well with a quick delivery and friendly manner. The pizza was the BEST!! I’ve never tried the Chicago style, so we went with the Hawaiian and a Chicago melt on the Chicago style crust, it was so delicious! Our favorite was the Hawaiian. Lots of toppings piled up on those medium pizzas, thanks for a great pizza!

If you like good pizza this is a place to go! They also have a pizza buffet. I ordered carryout, and I wish you could have smelled that pizza on the way like I did LOL! They were timely, friendly, and appropriately priced. We would definitely go back there.

Our waitress was super sweet. Buffet stayed stocked during the time we were there. It was fresh and plenty to choose from. Definitely a great family spot to enjoy a meal at.

The pizza was really good, and the price was pretty good as well. The service was great.

Fun surprise popping into East of Chicago with 5 kids after a full day of swimming at Pine Lake. Great find. Buffett was a big win. Kids and adults left happy with full bellies. Staff was really kind and attentive. Final bill was more than I would have guessed. Wish the Buffett price was posted or displayed in a way that I would have known what to expect.

Salad bar was good. Dessert breadsticks were way better than expected.

Great choices for pizza, soup, salad, and pasta. My personal favorite is peanut butter and jelly pizza.

We ordered carry out and it was all so good! Thank you for a great meal on a busy night. The staff was friendly & helpful! Smiles are a great greeting.

This is the only EoC in Huntington County and worth the drive to get there. Terry has some of the nicest young people in our area working for him. Nichole and Lyrik are top notch employees and always make my visit a pleasant experience. Keep up the good work and thanks for wonderful pizza!

We went back one week later and I would not give another 5*. I won't take away from my earlier review. But we were very disappointed this time. We drive several miles but I will not be going back. I asked for the cinnamon twists and was told there was already a "dessert pizza-peanut butter& jelly" even though nobody was eating it. She said I could order a pan for myself. I ordered the smallest size to go. And asked if there was any kind of discount since it wasn't available on the pizza bar and was refused. I do not believe asking for even a one dollar discount was out of line. I guess customer satisfaction is not a very high priority. :(

We arrived only 15 minutes before the buffet time was over. But we had plenty to choose from, with the soup/salad bar and hot pizza. There was also the dessert type of cinnamon twists w/ icing. Our waitress offered hot potato soup from the back when I mentioned I was disappointed that it was empty. She kept our drinks full and was very friendly. We were satisfied.

Showed up in this small town on a Saturday evening and this place was packed and super busy.
The employees were friendly and attentive, although having to deal with some crabby self entitled grouches that were waiting for a table.
They had my to go order ready quite fast for as busy as they were.
Excellent food and quality.
Very clean building and everyone in the food prep area was wearing gloves and working hard.

First chance to order pizza from here. Great service from the call to place order to the delivery. Crispy crust pizza we ordered was excellent and the small order of CinnaPops were a fantastic finish for sure!! Plan to send more of my own business this establishment's way as well as tell friends and family to check it out too!

Awesome service and the PB&J pizza is the best.

Wife and I stopped by for a quick dinner. I enjoyed the buffet and really prefer new method. Everything was good, I was happy to be able to try all the different pizza, salad and soup. The frosted cinnamon bites were awesome. We will be back

Stopped in on my way from Indy to Ft Wayne, and had a wonderful experience. The pizza was ready and hot, but more importantly, the ladies at the counter were so helpful and nice! I can’t tell you how heartwarming it is to see a smiling face and welcoming atmosphere.

If you want a quality pizza and that small town friendly service, come see the folks at East of Chicago in Warren! I’ll definitely be back. (Go Dodgers)

Best pizza buffet ever

We went during a community fundraiser where some of the high school kids were earning money for a trip. The kids raising money were doing the seating/order taking/cleaning/etc. Surprisingly, it went very well and the service was great as well as the food. I appreciated the variety on the buffet and the soup was a great addition!
