Gene's Trout Fishing Resort

Rented a cabin with some friends for a few nights. Got a Jon boat for a day too. We had a blast, and it was the perfect place for a friends getaway/fishing trip. The cabins are nice, furnished, and a full kitchen stocked to prepare meals. Dining room table to eat at. They are set up like a 3 bedroom apartment, with a living room and all. Ours had a porch overlooking the river.
There is GREAT fishing here. All of us caught our quota, including our 4 year old girl who reeled in the best one. All of the fish we kept were rainbows large enough to eat. They have an area for cleaning your catch, that we used to filet them right there on the dock. We took them back to our cabin and fried them up; delicious!
Fisherman’s note: I’ve been here multiple times, and I’d strongly suggest to call ahead. Find out if the dam is open or not. There is much better fishing when the dam is not running. The current is just way too strong for good trout fishing while the dam is running. Great experience! Would recommend for fishing buddies, families, and even couples looking for a quiet getaway.

A really great location. The place is clean and the staff is very friendly. Very close to the dam, launch ramps and Dry Creek/hatchery. Will go back again for sure.

Best trout fishing in the North Fork River right off Gene's dock. Cabins are cozy or grand depending on your needs and have all the expected amenities for a longer stay. Staff very friendly and knowledgeable. Our dog loved it too. Thanks for a great stay guys!

Its simply gorgeous down here. This is a place where you can get your mind right. Rooms are more than stocked and clean. The grounds are stunning along with being next to the white river. The lake is right up the road so you can fish and spend the day on the lake without having to drive alot.

We have enjoyed our stay at Gene’s! We have caught so many trout and have had such a good time! The people here are so friendly and helpful with any tips to catch a trout!

We had a business/church group fishing trip planned out at Gene's Trout Lodge. Fantastic opportunity to bring your own river boat or rent one of theirs. They have docking boat slips for your boat with easy access to and from your lodge to their boat docks. Beds are so so but just a place to sleep for us. We care more about the river and easy access. Would suggest better towels, bed sheets/ blankets, updated bathrooms, and gas grills would be more accomdating. Overall ... Gene's is a great place to stay to be on the river.

I went here on a fishing trip organized by a former coworker: we fished for three days. Folks from all over the country come down to to do some fishing here. You can fish from the dock or rent a boat - we rented four boats. The boats have a swivel chair and a water pocket (not sure if there’s a better term) for holding your catches. The cabins are well maintained, with internet, cable, a fridge, microwave, some dishes, showers, beds, coach etc. If you’re serious about fishing this is the place to be.

We haven't gotten a chance to stay here yet, but we did stop in and check out the rooms and talk with the employees. Everything seems very peaceful and clean. Will definitely be staying here after me and my husband stoped in to visit and check everything out. They have great pricing.

Great place for a group of 1 or 2 people or for 20 or 30. We want to schedule a family reunion. They are all about making sure you have everything you need. We looked at 3 different size cabins and loved them all.

This place is great! Good fishing right from the dock, clean rooms, excellent location. I recommend doing at least one day of guided fishing. Request to go fishing with Doug! In all my years of fishing, Doug was by far the nicest, most knowledgeable, most accommodating, and most fun guide I’ve fished with. He put us on lots of fish and several nice big ones. Genes is a wonderful place to relax for a weekend. My only regret is that we couldn’t stay longer.

Great experience! As a Family we visit Mountain Home every summer and Scott and his team are extremely accommodating to a group with very little fishing knowledge to ensure great fishing is had by all.

The accommodations are perfect and close to everything g on the river!

Stayed here for 3 days. Great fishing. Amazingly clean and well kept Not to pricey. Caught lots of trout Left and realized I left my necklace. Called and Scott the owner went and found it right where I left it. Will definitely come back

Had a blast. Very quiet even though it was Memorial Day weekend. Lots of families but plenty of room to fish. Rooms are awesome. Fishing was great. The view was amazing. Very well kept. Definitely coming back for years to come.

After working many years in the hotel business I think this resort is wonderful! They were so accommodating. The room was very nice and clean. We stayed in a waterfront cabin with the most amazing view. I did not want to leave!

What a vacation, we loved the stay, the cabin #2 was awesome had all you needed to cook with. Loved the view from the deck of the river. The people who operate Gene's were so friendly, and our fishing guide Paul Strong was super. I would recommend Gene's to anyone loved the whole experience.

We had a wonderful time at gene's. This was our first time. So now we know to get a bigger cabin but other than that we had a great 3 day stay. Will definitely come back again.

This place is Awesome. From the minute we entered the cabin we knew we wouldn't want to leave. They have every aspect of the stay covered. We're already talking about going back and we've been home 4 hours. I highly recommend Gene's!

Went on a weekend getaway with the family. They can accommodate anyone. 1-2 person cabins all the way to 20+ person cabins. Clean. Wonderful staff. And we also had great neighbors. Will come back!
