Hotel Dewey

We scheduled a last minute weekend getaway here at the end of October and were very happy with the stay. For the price, I had no expectation of views but our northwest corner room on the second floor had a pleasant view of the bay and you could see the ocean if you leaned over the railing of the wraparound porch.

The staff was very friendly and the location is excellent, with several great restaurants (I'd recommend Woody's, Dewey Post, and Dewey Beer Co) within easy walking distance. The rooms are clean and the beds are comfortable.

This hotel is not for everyone though. The rooms are showing their age and could use more maintenance. If chipped paint, noisy plumbing, and dented furniture are going to offend you, find another option. The nearby Rusty Rudder nightclub is also very noisy well into the night on weekends, so light sleepers who turn in early might not be happy here.

I was extremely happy with my stay at Hotel Dewey. The staff are incredibly nice and were very accommodating! I was very happy with my room, and I really like that there is a hot plate and kitchen sink so I wasn't only stuck with eating out all of the time. I also loved that I had a balcony and felt very relaxed the entire time I was there. I will definitely come back!

I have been staying here for 16 years & have always been a happy customer. This is a reasonably priced hotel with clean rooms in a great location, the beach is only a block away and there are numerous restaurants & shops close by. Plus they allow dogs. The rooms have recently been updated with new paint and new bedding. The beds were comfortable, plenty of clean towels & toiletry items provided too. I'm already looking forward to coming back next year!

We were traveling with our dog and just passing through overnight. The room was very clean. A nice kitchenette was a great feature, especially if we were staying longer. Short walk to the beach and restaurants!

Visited Dewey and stayed here for the first time with our dog. Under new ownership and renovations were done to the rooms. Overall, staff were very friendly and didn't bother you at all. There is a small grass area out front which was nice I didn't need to go searching. The rooms were clean and comfortable. I was very impressed and the best part is it's in a great location for the beach, bars and resturants. Wouls definitely stay here again and reccomend to others.

My wife and I and our two dogs stayed here for vacation in June and it was EXACTLY as advertised: a beach motel offering a relatively spacious room with private deck and very close beach access... AND dog friendly! On top of that, the staff were very friendly and helpful with anything we needed. For the price and the location, this is a great find. I'll definitely be staying here again!

We stayed on the top floor. The left side of the building has bay views. Room was clean and staff were nice. It was worth saving $100 per night compared to across the street at the Hyatt

Decent room, private balcony with chairs and a table, friendly staff, convenient location, free on-site parking.

I stayed here on the weekend of June 5th with my wife. We came here for a beach weekend, and selected this hotel for it's proximity to Dewey beach and Rehoboth beach. Dewey beach is about a 5 minute walk from here, (you're literally across the street from it) and Rehoboth beach and it's boardwalk is about a 35-40 minute walk. But it is a nice walk through a cute neighborhood area.

You're also close to several restaurants and bars, we went to Nalu and it was a nice time.

Great place to stay! You can't beat the location, quick walk to the beach, all the bars and restaurants. Rooms are kept clean and up to date. We will be back again next year for sure!

Hubby and I always travel with our golden retriever, Riley, and we love Dewey Beach because it is so dog friendly. We started staying here before it changed hands and we love all the improvements being made to the property. The rooms are spacious and filled with lots of natural light but my favorite thing (besides it being steps from the beach and bay) is the private balcony. Other hotels/motels in town offer rooms that have windows that face out into parking lots or other areas that get a LOT of foot traffic and that can be quite unnerving for a dog so we love that once we enter our room, all Riley has to deal with is a beautiful view of the bay. The rooms are very clean and quiet and the wet bar is a nice touch as well. They have recently installed new wide screen tv's and they offer free wifi and coffee in the lobby. Another reason we love this place is the staff, starting with Erin. The first time we stayed here, before it became Hotel Dewey, we were greeted by Erin who has so much love and enthusiasm for the town that she can't wait to share all the area has to offer - you certainly couldn't ask for a better spokesperson, that's for sure and her smile and joy is contagious, we love catching up with her on every visit, even if we're just down for the day. Amy and Beverly are also amazing, they go above and beyond to make sure your visit exceeds your expectations. If you want to be in the heart of the best beach town in the world Hotel Dewey is your place - feet from both the beach and the bay and so many restaurants, shops and bars within walking distance that you never need drive anywhere plus there is always something special going on in town.

So happy I could bring my dog. The room was clean and had everything we needed. The bay view was SO pretty,especially at sunset. Only one block from the ocean. Close to several top rated restaurants.

Great value for the price. Attentive and friendly staff, clean rooms and good room service. Very short and convenient walk to the beach. I will definitely use this hotel when I come back.

Clean, quiet, beautiful views. Not much more I could ask for. Fridge, freezer, stove top. Wonderful balcony..walking distance to so many venues we had an absolute blast!

I got what I paid for, I received all of the amenities outlined. The staff were extremely accommodating and they paid attention to detail without being invasive. A much needed break, plenty to do in the area, plenty to eat and plenty of sea 🐟
