Great place for a beach stop

My husband and I walked in here yesterday (9/11/21) with our 6 year old twins and were almost immediately confronted by the man behind the counter. He asked us if our kids just had icecream and pointed to the small to-go container I had in my hand. My husband and I were very confused and said yes we had just come from an icecream shop. He then basically told us that we couldn't bring our kids in there if they had just had icecream because he has clothes in the shop. I can honestly say that I have never been more insulted, disrespected, and taken aback as a customer. I had, in fact, taken each of my children to the bathroom after they had their icecream to wash their hands because I knew we were going into other shops and that was just the right thing to do. Confronting a potential customer just because they have 2 children with them is not the right thing to do. The irony is that our kids getting souvenirs was the reason we went inside this store. We took our business elsewhere and were welcomed without any problem. I hope other parents don't have a similar experience.
