Mala menu is legitimately spicy and authentic. Not for people who are seeking regular Chinese. They have a normal Chinese menu but if you are looking for authentic Sichuan food you can get it here. I had the boiled fish and tofu

Very good traditional Szechuan food. The ma po tofu was amazing and the ma la wontons were the best I've had in a long time. My friend got the General Tso's chicken, which I joked was the least Chinese item on the menu. It was also great with a special Szechuan twist on it. I will have to come back and try more on the menu.

No dine-in despite the listing, but a lovely lady opened the door and gave me some free rice cakes before I walked off.

Please change your listing. Still, 5 stars ❤

If you're looking for bland, breaded and deep fried American Chinese food, go elsewhere. If you're seeking delicious, spicy Sichuan, then Great Wall is your spot. Mapo tofu, Sichuan green beans, eggplant are all great. I'll miss this place when is closes in December.

I’m no connoisseur of authentic Chinese/Sichuan cuisine but I have eaten a lot of American Chinese food over the years, and this place is fantastic. Generous portions, everything is well seasoned and spiced, and the food has always been ready for pickup on time, even with a $200 order. Just feels and tastes like better quality than your average takeout.

Crab Rangoon was marvelous. A bit over cooked but still delicious. I got the beef and broccoli and fried rice. Really fresh, well made, and the taste was great!

Great neighborhood spot for take out Chinese. I love the ma la menu for that mouth numbing spice. I always mean to take a picture but find myself devouring my food first. The meifun options are also well made. I haven’t had the American Chinese food here so can’t speak to that.

This is a nearly twenty-year institution in DC known for its spicy dishes and hearty portions of Chinese American comfort food. The owners are lovely people! ❤

I love this place.

If possible, Great Wall, please stop limiting your DoorDash delivery radius. Door Dash generally delivers anywhere but your page routinely is either not accepting delivery orders at all OR says my house is too far.

We’ve been ordering take-out here for years and have never been disappointed. Fantastic food, lovely service, and a short wait! Anxiously waiting for the dining room to open because the food is even better fresh!

The food was good. Nothing spectacular. However, the atmosphere and service was great, and the prices very reasonable for s metropolitan area.

Our favorite Chinese carryout in DC. A cut above the rest, and the Szechuan food is off the map good.

Took my beau and his kids here based on the excellent reviews I found online and they definitely lived up to their stellar reputation!! The decor was clean and intimate and the staff was attentive and corteous. The food was delicious and very fresh. Just outstanding in every way. We are on vacation and it was worth the short cab ride to the Great Wall. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are craving authentic Chinese food.

The Ma La menu is where it’s at! The numbing effect was in full force but the flavor and spice level was perfect. Nothing was too hot or too mild. Ordered Ma Po tofu, Szechuan chicken, beef and broccoli, and sesame beef. Great all around!

The best Chinese in D.C., hands-down. I lived in the neighborhood for 13 years and got takeout here weekly. Healthy portions, great prices and it’s family run. The Ma-La Chicken lo mein is fantastically numbing-spicy and the steamed meat dumplings are the best anywhere. Yes, the TV is on the Chinese-language station for the staff, what more do you need to know than that?

Still the best Chinese food I've had in the DMV. Everything you'd expect from a Chinese restaurant in terms of choices, decor, shade thrown by the staff, but it's all enjoyable and they get the flavors right. Large portions, so you can usually share. No reservation needed, and they do have take out.

All the way from San Diego and we loved it! We like szchewaun style food and the flavor is delicious. Uber driver said he eats here, too! Orange chicken, fried dumpling, fried rice, brown sauce yummy, veges fresh, yum!

Second time, delivery to the hotel, was scrumptious! Triple delight, chicken noodles, and house fried rice. $40, but worth every penny for delivery. I met the driver at the hotel entrance to keep it real! I had plates and forks because I read the previous review that they were not provided.

When I think about amazing Chinese food I think about Great Wall Szechuan. This spot has all the classics like Kung Pao and General Tso's, but they also have some of the lesser known dishes that are really, really good. Things like Moo Goo Gai Pan and Egg Foo Young. If you ask them to make your dish really spicy, they will happily comply. Do your self a favor and go get some Chinese food from this spot!

点赞! 真的很地道很好吃! It's been our GO TO Sichuan Food in DC since last year! Very decent Sichuan Spiciness(not American Chinese food!), good taste in all different dishes, love the Mapo Tofu, Dandan noodles, chow fun, Sichuan style fried string beans, eggplants with black bean sauce... definitely will go there to eat when things are opened up! Want to try more other dishes too!

Both dine-in and take-away are delicious. Try the MaLa menu for a very hot and spicy kick you don't usually find at other take-out places. Staff is super friendly and helps when they can. Be ready to pick up the order if you want it quickly because this place is popular. My go-to Chinese place in DC.
