Woody's Dewey Beach

Stopped in for lunch and this place did not disappoint. From the friendly staff, drinks, food it was all top notch. The special that day was "the monster" and as you can see from the pictures it truly was. Another must try is the the md crab and cream of crab together. The clams were done in a great broth and the bread to soak it up was a treat. Get yourself a signature cocktail/drink to sip on.

It is true what everyone says about the crab cakes here! They were so good. Huge pieces of crab meat. I had the cream of crab soup and my friend had the ying yang soup both were delicious! The Mac and Cheese was so tasty and cheesy. If you love live fried pickles these were at the top of my daughter's list of the best she has tried. Yes it is hard to find parking and a bit of a wait but it is so worth it!

When you're at the beach, you have to get some seafood so we stopped here for dinner on their dog-friendly patio. I went in skeptical of their claims of having the best crab cakes in Delaware, but I'm a believer now. The crab cake sandwich was as good as any I've ever had. I'd highly recommend getting the cocktail sauce with it.

Be warned that the sandwich is messy though...there is zero filler in these so the crab tends to crumble apart easily. The tater tots on the side were also cooked perfectly, with a satisfying crispy exterior.

Crab cakes are never inexpensive, but we thought the price of these was very reasonable given the high quality.

My family and I came here for the 3rd year in a row and we were happy as usual. We got the ying & yang crab soup, spicy green beans, black and blue shrimp sandwich, crab cakes, and fried shrimp. All the food was delicious per usual. Crab cakes are all crab meat and no filler. Spicy green beans were perfectly fried and a great appetizer. My only complaint is that they are always out of crab gazpacho when we come. Otherwise, it’s always a great experience!

Great place. Yes, it is true. They make the worlds best crab cakes. I've never had a more delicious crab cake. We also had Buffalo shrimp that was equally excellent. It's a fun place, great bar too.

New place for us so we ordered to share. Ordered
1- Cream of Crab soup bowl- it was creamy and crabby (meaning it tasted like crab).
2- Lobster Roll with spicy potato chips.
3- Crab cake platter (they are the winner of 2023) was excellent. The fries were extra crisp and tender and the crab cake was special, so special (With respect to The Church Lady, Dana Carrey SNL).
The food was so good, we agreed on not having dessert. That is a very rare state for me.

Was in the area and decided to stop in and try their famous crab cakes for a late lunch. We've been living in Delaware for Teo and a half years and have consistently heard that the crab cakes here are "the best."

A full six ounces of jumbo lump crab meat and very little else make these a culinary wonder. They are not over seasoned, and there appears to be absolutely no filler. I'm not even sure what they used to bind the crabmeat into that barely cohesive ball of deliciousness, but it works. If there is a better crab cake in Delaware, I would love to try it.

The Maryland style crab soup was also very good. A generous portion of lump crab meat bathed in a rich tomato base accompanied by mixed vegetables.

The onion rings were also quite good.

Overall, exceptional pub food in a very low-key, beachy, almost dive bar atmosphere.

Cute little dive bar with the best crabcakes around. The crabcakes are all lump, there’s so little filler that they barely stay together— just how it should be!

Been trying to get here for a while now. Have read so many good things about their crab cakes. Let me tell you, you will not find a better crab cake!!! No fillers just crab meat! I had the crab cake sandwich and my wife had the softshell crab sandwich both of which were nothing short of amazing! There are so many great places around Dewey definitely put this on your places to go... You won't be disappointed!!! Oh and get the crab soup as well 🦀

I had a late lunch with family. Enjoyed a delicious Bloody Mary with a crab cake sandwich. Possibly the best crab cake I ever had. Lumped crab meat with very little fillet. The crab meat was sweet and perfectly cooked. Service was friendly and efficient. Go there if you are at the beach in Delaware and like crab cakes.

This was the first time we’ve visited Woody’s Dewey Beach and they didn’t disappoint us. I know they are famous with their crab cakes so I ordered the crab cake sandwich with tater tots. The crab cake was all lump crab meat with no filling and delicious! Tater Tots were yummy too! My husband ordered the blackened chicken with their homemade chips and he said both were very good.

Highly recommend this place and we’ll come back again.

Best crab cake we’ve ever had! Came back for more the next day. Service was friendly and attentive. Great bartenders!

This place is awesome! I even did a repeat crab cake sandwich a second time because it was so incredible. Huge portions, lump crab meat and great bread toasted for crunch. The awesome bartenders wooed us with orange crush drinks and entertained us on both occasions with witty humor. They were also kind enough to share information about local happenings and tips. Key to Woody’s is to skip the line and eat at the bar or you miss part of the experience. I highly recommend. Best crab cake sandwich in town.

Seen they are to have the best crab cakes in the area, so we decided to try them out. My wife got the crab cake platter and loved it. The crab cake was literally all meat. I ordered the build your own burger and was not disappointed either. The burger had a good taste to it. Our son ordered Philly cheese steak and was finished before my wife and I. So it must have been good. I would definitely recommend making this a stop if your in Dewey Beach. Picture is the crab tots my wife ordered to share with our son.

Our family loved Dewey’s! They welcomed us and out tiny little dog. We decided to come to Dewey Beach for a mini action. We ordered several appetizers and entrees to include: Mac’n Cheese bites, onion rings, chicken wingettes, Salmon, Seaweed Salad, Ahi Tuna, and more!!! We drank water with lemon and every taste was delicious of the entire meal! Yum! There was plenty of good seating! Our wait time was only 45 minutes! Coming to Delaware? Visi Woody’s !!!

The best crab cakes and crab pretzels! Also, the owner saw me walking up with my mommom, and he put a ramp down so she could get up the curb easier. Then he gave me permission to park my car in his spot. His help was so appreciated. I'll give a 6 out of 5 stars.

Woody's advertises as the "best kept secret" in Dewey Beach and they are absolutely correct! Miserable day with the rain and wind but Woody's was packed! Service, food and atmosphere we perfect. Will be back again next time at the beach.

From Rehobeth to Ocean City, Woody's has the best crab cakes. Period. Everything else on the menu is also spectacular, right down to their homebrewed iced tea.
If they have it, get "The Crab Monster" (shown in pic): is a fried softshell crab on top of a crabcake sandwich. YUM!!!

Update: Still the best crabcake anywhere I have been!!!

Stopped in with friends because we had heard this place has the best crab cakes in the area. We were not disappointed. Woody's has a laid back beach vibe atmosphere. The crab cakes are amazing! There is so little filler and so much lump crab that I don't even know how they keep them together. They area but pricey as the price fluctuates due to the market but they are well worth it. Don't leave Dewey Beach without stopping in!

Grabbed lunch at Woody's and was very happy with what we ordered. Sky was our waitress and she was great. We tried the crabby tots, crab cake sliders and mac n cheese bites for starters. Everything was delicious. My kids really enjoyed the mac n cheese bites. The cream o' crab soup was delicious as well if you prefer a creamier soup. I had the soft shell BLT sandwich and my husband had The McDonough. Both very incredibly delicious! The ahi tuna was perfectly seared and seasoned. I would come back again for a bite to eat in the future! Prices were also reasonable!
