Wildwood Cemetery

Loaded with Sheboygan and area history, its a nice walk on a nice day>

The East & South ridges offer unique views of the area and the South ridge is loaded with hitorical figures from the area.

It is a very nice kept cemetery. Their lawn maintence is great.

I made a huge mistake in purchasing a plot at the same time I was getting my dads plot.

I was my Dads P.O.A. After my dad passed away my health got worse. My sister decided to take over to help me because I was not feeling well. A meeting was set. This meeting was supposed to be about my dads plot and it turned out that it was also about the plot I purchased. My sister had no clue what was going on because all we were told was that the meeting was about my dads plot. What ended up happening was my sister and the lady at department of public works agreed on a person who gets the plot next to my dad, the one I wrote the check to, the one I signed the papers. I have absolutely no say to the plot.

Other then that they have been really amazing.

My father was buried at 93 years old at Wildwood in mid-February. His headstone came in mid-April. Over the past seven weeks I have been calling both Wildwood and Sheboygan Monument. Mostly following with Wildwood since it was in their hands from mid-April to install his gravestone. I have been in touch on a weekly basis. In mid-May I told them how important it was for my father Stephen Herm have his grave stone installed before Memorial Day as he was a Navy veteran in World War ll. Followed on a weekly basis and was given the reason that it was due to wet weather. I was very patient on this process but here we are on June 2. He still has just a huge mound of dirt 3.5 months (coming up one four months now) after his death. This is inexcusable and since my sister was in town today she confirmed nothing has been done at all and still a huge mound of dirt and grass is 8-10 inches deep. This is so sad for a good man who loved Sheboygan so much that he, my Mom and sister cannot be in a cemetery that takes care of these memorials to those departed. Please Sheboygan Public Works and Wildwood do something to improve this process when the families lay their loved ones to rest.

Was there on Memorial Day 2020 and was saddened to see how neglected this cemetery is. Grass not cut or trimmed. When I called to question I was told there is only one caretaker (it is big)
