Very scenic and a great place to find peace and tranquility. An awesome and fun fishing spot with plentiful bass at Canthook Lake. Made lots of new friends and repaired part of my soul.

Did some wilderness camping at Porcupine Lake about two miles off trail on the east side of the lake. Great Northern and Ice Age trails lead through this area, so there are some nice established campsites that are easy to hike to for beginner backpackers. I’ll definitely be back to try other areas of the forest, probably yet this summer.

My friends and I have all kinds of fun running ATVs swimming and cookouts on the many trails and at the many lakes throughout the nicolet national Forest.
It's just too bad that summer is over.
There is so much to do in the nicolet national Forest.
There are walking trails ATV trails dirt roads lakes you can hunt or fish.
during the spring summer and fall you can pick wild blueberries raspberries wild strawberries choke cherries blackberries various different types of nuts various different types of mushrooms wild onions and the list goes on and on.
During spring summer fall and winter the nicolae national Forest is a photographer's Paradise if you just know where to go.

This is the best national forest in the within 50 miles of butternut wi! The are wolves here and they will eat you so be careful. There are also bears, mountain lions, porcupines, coyote, Bob cats, and hillbillies. There are no deer here, they all got eaten by the wolves and bears and hillbillies.

Absolutely gorgeous and very accessible forest. A wide variety of habitat for a diverse selection of wild game. The ATV trails are awesome as are the manners of 99% of the trail users!

It was so quiet and peaceful at Two Lakes campground. Our site was right on the water for a beautiful morning sunrise. We went fishing in Bass lake right there and you can catch any size fish in that lake for any age range. My kids enjoyed catching the small blue gills and sunfish as I reeled in some nice size Bass.

Trails were pretty good, one more good snow fall and trails will be much smoother. Can't wait to go again! We saw deer and a pileated woodpecker on our 32 miles of snowmobiling!

Saw a porcupine! Very great spot to do a multiple day backpacking trip. Contact the ice age trail office to get a phone number for someone who can shuttle you away from your car!

I enjoy driving from Rhinelander Wisconsin to Blaine MN. One of prettiest rides in fall during the colorama are on Hwy 70 and through this Chequamegon-National Forest.

Beautiful, and unspoiled beauty of the caliber in the Midwest is hard to find! I went in late winter/early Spring. Great for stargazing thanks to low light pollution. Attached is a picture at the boat launch at East Twin Lake 3/14/21 @ 4:30am. The sky is so dark (bortel 2) that the zodiacal light can be seen on the north side. Light pollution on the right is coming from the town of Clam Lake

So accidently ran into this State Park there was a rainbow gathering the people were nice and it's a good park to go for a hike, don't forget bug spray and always check for ticks before you get back into your car. It is kind of hidden but if you live the outdoors you must explore this park

Tons of hiking trails, wild life, camping and sections to explore. Several visitor centers and resources available across the northern part of the state. I have hiked many miles in these woods and it's a unique experience. I've never ran into other people in the backwoods on remote trails.

Love it up here. Something about driving through the Northwoods, you just have to roll the windows down. Spectacular national forest campgrounds and great little towns to explore. Some of the best bars in all of WI up here too.
