Went in for acrylic nails and a pedi to match. The pedi was fine, the tech took his time and was really friendly. I let them know I would be taking engagement photos the next day, so I’d be getting professional photos taken of my hands.
The mani still came out like this. Honestly, I think it looks like they glued blue teeth to my fingers. The tech didn’t prep the nail at all (no cuticle cutting or trimming natural nails). I asked for short, with a round shape. Neither the length or shape came out the way I wanted, even after he filed them into squares and then I asked to correct it to round. The nails are also very very thick and unnatural looking. One nail is even the same length as the natural nail underneath, which completely defeats the purpose of getting tips put on at all. I could have had my natural nails painted and seen a similar result.
It was late by the time I was “done” so I told them I’d come back the next day to get them fixed and they seemed to want to make it right. I’m going in tomorrow to see what can be done before my engagement photos. Overall, not my favorite experience here. 4 stars because they’re always very nice and hopefully tomorrow they’ll be fixed.

EDIT: Went back the next day right before getting my photos done. Kayla fixed them herself! They turned out great :) I added a couple photos from the shoot to show the difference!

I moved to Milwaukee from Orange County, Ca and was in dire need of a polish change for an event I needed to go. I found North Shore Nails when there was a scheduling mix up at another salon and my appointment was cancelled. Kayla (the salon owner) was able to get me right in and even stayed a little late to make sure my nails were perfect! I’ve been going to her ever since. Her creativity and attention to detail are second to none. No design I have ever suggested is too much. Everyone at North Shore Nails is always welcoming, the salon is super clean, they have every color you could possibly want and are always able to accommodate last second appointments. I promise you will love it if you go!

I am very impressed with the eyebrow service at North Shore Nails. The staff here worked very professionally and carefully, creating perfect eyebrow lines for me. I feel confident and beautiful with the end result.

Amazing nail service during covid! Best place to go for same day services 😌 Went for a beautiful mani and pedi with my boyfriend. We had an amazing experience with the staff! Kayla and Andy are amazing and super kind! Kayla responds very quickly to online messaging for questions and more info! i went in for my gel acrylic nails today and i was so happy with what i got! the staff were so friendly and kind helped me look at colors and my nail tech was so attentive to what i wanted and did the exact shape i showed him! (i’m not sure what his name was but he had blonde hair) the pricing was also amazing! i’ll definitely return and this is now my favorite nail salon in the milwaukee area(:

I love this place. Every time they've done my nails they've done an amazing job. Even if I mess them up in between visits they were extremely helpful in fixing them.

The people who work there are so nice. I also enjoyed their chair massage. They always offered me water and helped me on many occasions when I came in with a migraine. I wish every place could be as well-run as this one.

Kayla did such an amazing job and is very talented. She gave some great recommendations and really takes her time to make sure your nails turn out the way you want!

North Shore Nails really knows how to satisfy customers. Everything in this salon is clean and tidy. Staff are very cute and attentive.

When I started growing my nails back, I went straight to North Shore Nails for my first-ever gel manicure, and it's a beautiful, soft blue! 5 stars!

I’m trying to make this sound as non-cheesy as possible. This salon is just very special to me for a number of reasons. North Shore Nails is amazing. I recently moved to the area and had no idea where to go. I called other shops and North Shore Nails took me in as soon as I called and promised me a full set. They came through with their promise! Kayla does my lashes and Andy does my nails. Seriously some of the best service I’ve ever received. They’re genuine at this salon. They aren’t just doing this for money. These lovely people care about making you feel beautiful. Every time I go into the shop I am greeted with a warm welcome and I am treated with respect, total kindness and love. Since I began going there 2.5 months ago I have referred my colleagues and family members simply because I believe they are the best salon in Shorewood. I always respect a hard worker who provides for their family and each of the technicians do exactly that. Not to mention they do whatever designs I want regardless of how crazy they might be. That’s talent!
