Fries and egg rolls were AWESOME and I will be going back for sure for those!! My dude's corned beef sandwich was good as well!! The bread the sandwiches were on weren't my favorite but it was still good and wouldn't stop us from coming back!

I had a business meeting in Milwaukee, and we ordered for pickup from Jake's. I loved Jake's Reuben sandwich when I had a job on North Ave. 30 years ago--and it's STILL THE BEST REUBEN IN MILWAUKEE! Everyone else loved their orders too. Keep up the great work, Jake's! We'll be back!

Toasted corned beef was delicious. Very fast. Pricier than expected, but kind of worth it.

Delicious! We had the pastrami sandwich. It was tender and flavorful. Also huge. This is the sandwich every other sandwich wants to be! Next time I'll get mine toasted so the bread holds together better. Un-toasted this was a fork sandwich. Potato salad and coleslaw did not disappoint. Highly recommend.

Jakes has been around for as long as I can remember. The staff has changed, and it has also but it is still the only place in the neighborhood where you can get a good corn beef sandwich.

This place is so good. Toasted pastrami sandwich. Just like I remember it from eating back in 2016. Portions haven’t changed. I’d come by more if I still lived in MKE. I ended up taking home 1.5 pounds of pastrami!

What a cool place. It's been around since 1955, and now I know why. The sandwiches are amazing. Tons of meat on the sandwiches and really good corned beef. The staff was nice and in a good mood which made it a fun atmosphere. If your looking for a Milwaukee place this is it in my mind now.

Absolutely the best Reuben Sandwich to be found in Milwaukee... Possibly the Midwest.... Maybe anywhere! I've been a fan since my father brought me here as a child, living out of state, I visit whenever I'm in town.

Deli’s and restaurants display distinct rhythms in their day-to-day service, and occasionally, as it is with Jake’s Deli, the rhythm feels historic, almost spiritual, and essential to the sandwich itself. I park my car across the street from an old red brick building common in Milwaukee but out of place on this particular street. A sign that reads “Jake’s Delicatessen Since 1955” hangs from the second floor. I walk inside to find my friends sitting in a church pew-like wooden booth under a wall full of black and white photos boasting of the landmarks’ history. I place my order – the highly recommended Corned Beef sandwich with a side of chips – and watch the rituals of the room. They call my name, and over the next 60 seconds I witness the perfect sandwich exchange, one which all beloved locales should mimic. A distracted man in a dirty white apron drops a foil wrapped brick of flavor into a brown paper bag alongside enough napkins to clothe a toddler and hands it across the glass counter without ever making eye contact with me. I’m not special; I’m one of thousands of customers he’s served, and he has his carnivorous art to return to. Ten feet to my left, the other aproned man is complaining about something unimportant with a friend of his who walked in just after me. It felt local, felt like home, felt like a destination that generations of fathers have taken their sons to with an excitement that their boy only understood in retrospect as an adult. This is sandwich culture. It’s not as friendly as the overly popular coffee culture or as clean, but it’s genuine and unassuming.

The corned beef tasted great by the way, much more than great actually (I’ve found few who know their craft as well as this deli knows theirs), but it’s not the taste that makes this one special: it’s the history.

You don't know Milwaukee until you've had Jake's. There is nothing like it. The manager took care of an experience that could have been ruined. But it wasn't. My sandwich was made just how I like it!!

A big filling sandwich, the meat is tender and delicous. I'm no expert but I'd say this place does it right. Been around for a long time and still going strong as king of corned beef in Milwaukee.

I thought this place had one of the better pastrami sandwiches in Milwaukee! Very juicy, great cuts of meat, toasted perfectly. I would have preferred some Russian dressing instead of brown mustard but it was fantastic anyways. Also the fries were incredible. Bit pricy though.

My absolute favorite Diner to get Cornbeef sandwiches. Hands-down the best. Even with the new owner you kind of expect changes but food is still amazing as ever.

Far and away the best pastrami sandwich in Milwaukee. An old Jewish neighborhood with still remaining vestiges of history. Go, visit, give these folks your business!

Great Reuben and filled me up. Ate only half with the pickle and slaw, and saved the rest for supper. Cool old spot for really good sandwiches.

Heard a lot of good things about this place but hadnt tried it until today on my lunch break. They prepared my food very fast, the inside was clean and had an old-timey feel, location is convenient and just off north ave, everyone working there was friendly, and the food was delicious. Prepared and packaged well, good ingredients, and even the coleslaw was tasty which is usually a gamble. Would definitely come back & glad I tried it! Side note: respect the neighborhood if you come here, it's definitely busy but not "bad" - in regards to some strange reviews.

I have lived in four states since leaving Milwaukee in 1986 but every time I visit, I have to make my way to Jake's. It's the best corn beef I've ever eaten anywhere, including NY. Unlike most places Jakes corn beef is moist, tender and full of flavor. I wish I could order it online and have it shipped to me.

Jake's Deli is THE best and deserves the recognition. You can taste the soul and history of the business in every bite of corned beef. The place is beyond unique, and the location feels retro and cool. The staff was friendly, the location is safe, and the value is great. Everyone always wants to say something has changed or that it isn't as good as it used to be...it's just not true about Jake's. This place is and always has been amazing.
