It’s an older property, but very clean and the customer service was amazing. The little restaurant in the parking lot was delicious too.

I reserved 2 executive Queen rooms for a wedding party. The service went above and beyond. We were able to check in early, rooms were very very nice. Would highly recommend.

If you want luxury, then spend big bucks at the Pfister or Ambassador. If you want a plethora of amenities, then the Marriot or Hilton will suffice. But if, like me, you have people to visit in Mequon or nearby east side, and all you want is a clean comfortable room, then that is what you will get here. The ambience is pure simplicity, circa 1950's-60's, and if you are not from Milwaukee, then you are most likely unaware of the rich history of this motel. For decades, Chalet on the Lake was a 5* restaurant where even the middle class found a way to dine once or twice a year. Dressed in your Sunday best, it was an elegant and delicious dining experience, and kids like me loved petting the owner's St. Bernard, Heidi, who greeted all the children as though she were theirs. But if you abhor historical landmarks and hate the cold, as some here have suggested, then you might want to consider avoiding Milwaukee in the winter, and go stay somewhere where you overpay for a warm working shower and cozy bed because the hotel spent its money on modern decor and amenities you may never need to use. This is 5* bang for your buck--or is it Bucks?

Very friendly staff upgraded us because of A/c issues. Great room. Clean. Close to lots of stores and restaurants. They are in the process of updating.

I’m not going to lie, I was hesitant with my first ever “motel” stay. But this motel far exceeds any expectations. It’s cleaner than some 4-5 star hotels I’ve stayed at. The bed was very comfortable. Close drive to Milwaukee. The bar attached (Crave) was a delight. We plan on using this place to stay for future trips to Milwaukee.

I know nothing about the hotel itself. The review is for the Crave bar that is attached. We live a few blocks away, and this has become our go- to dinner restaurant. The burgers have a lot of variety and great taste. My wife has many food sensitivities, and has found the salads to be delicious! The cost is affordable, especially for the area, and the service is quick and friendly. Indoor & outdoor seating available. We rarely drink alcohol, but they have an extensive bar available, too.

I was pleasantly surprised by this place. I was skeptical when we first arrived and saw it from the outside. It just looks like your typical motel. Once we stepped into our room however, my mind was changed. The room was immaculately clean, you can tell this establishment is well taken care of. The check-in was fast and the staff member friendly. They aren't fancy but they provide all the basic amenities you'd expect in a motel (mini fridge, microwave, iron, blow dryer, tv, soaps, lotions, etc.), and a continental breakfast is offered in the morning. For the price, this place can't be beat.

We usually go to this motel for a getaway because it is so clean and very reasonable. Unfortunately our home had a fire and we were at the motel for a month. They staff and housekeepers were so accomodating and friendly and it was very reasonable for the room we had and what a nice motel it was for the price. I would HIGHLY recommend this place. Cleanest motel/hotel I probably ever have been to. Housekeepers are amazing.

I stayed here for about a month and a half between the sale and purchase of a home. The room was very clean and quiet. The general manager is very polite and accommodating. He gave me a special room with no doors between rooms to make it quieter for me after I told him I was a light sleeper. They give you a nicely discounted rate if you stay for a month. I slept like a rock every night. I would definitely stay here again.

If a no-frills, safe, clean, and affordable location is what you're looking for, this is your destination! I needed a location to remotely work while my dog was at a specialty clinic and this was perfect! Will definitely stay again when it's time for his check-up.

I really love this place. I absolutely love how almost everything is original from the year 1988. It's very rare to come across vintage places, and it's very well maintained and clean. The people who work here are super friendly and they even have their own restaurant/bar! It feels like home <3

Nice clean room with small flat screen TV, microwave, coffee maker and fridge. The restaurant and bar on the property is small but very nice and has good food. Two other restaurants with bars are across the street and also have good food with decent atmosphere. Older Motel and shows some wear, but the people we met (Amy) were extremely nice and since we drove a Semi truck and trailer on to their parking lot, they went out of their way to make sure that some parking areas were left unoccupied so we could maneuver our way out without having to wake people up and have them move their vehicles. All in all a very nice place to stay and we will stay there again.

This is one of our favorite places. We stayed here many times and have never gone wrong. Mequon is a very nice place to start your bike trip down the beautiful paved trail that runs all the way through Ozaukee County. [rooms are a bit old school] << I wrote this a couple years ago and it's out of date. Rooms now all very modernized. But the price is great. The rooms are neat and clean. David is always nice to you and efficiently gets you set up for a good night's sleep.... also in covid times, you can check in and access your room without going into the lobby, hallways or any enclosed spaces with other people.

I have been staying at the Chalet Motel for many years, since 2003. It's quiet, comfortable, convenient, and affordable. The room is always squeaky clean and has basic amenities; fridge, micro, Wi-Fi, etc. The staff are American, very friendly, and genuinely greet you when you arrive. My last 4-night stay was smooth and comfy. Even the housekeeping staff were super nice! I don't like or trust the bigger Indian operated motels. This is a locally owned and American operated outfit, and it shows.

Amazing rooms for the price. Been to my fair share of cheap motels while traveling to save money, and the Chalet has been the best!! Clean bathrooms, nice comfy beds, good coffee, and a microwave and mini fridge in all rooms. So nice for the price. Arrived at 5am (long road trip) and the staff let me and my boyfriend check out three hours past check out time for free!! Super friendly people in Mequon. Next time I make a trip to Milwaukee I am without a doubt staying here!

Nice staff, locally owned non-chain hotel. Good location, a minute away from I-43, 10 from Cedarburg.
Older facility gets constant upgrades.
Our bed was very very comfortable, and we have been back on account of that alone. (Yes, that comfortable)

My wife and I stayed here for two nights. We wanted to stay here because it was close to Milwaukee (and we have had bad luck with hotels in Milwaukee) and close to Cedarburg which was our main destination because it was Oktoberfest that weekend. Walking into the office I was even impressed. It was spotless and smelled clean. Walking into the room I was even more impressed. We stayed in a King Deluxe Room and everything was perfect. Immaculately clean and the bed was super comfy. I called down to the office for 2 extra pillows and they said come right over. When I got to the office I asked for 3 instead because my wife was pregnant and didn't bring her body pillow and they happily complied with three very large pillows. Overall our stay was very satisfying and especially for the excellent price. We will definitely stay here anytime we come to Milwaukee area.
Also check out the restaurant the Centennial right across the street which I will be posting a review for as well. TO DIE FOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is an older motel, but completely upgraded. Very clean, quiet, with comfortable beds. Certainly can't beat the price. Crave restaurant onsite is really good as well.

This is a great place to stay when in the area.
