Martin Pottery Studio-Gallery

We stopped while on vacation and enjoyed talking to the artist/owner. He showed us a new technique he was working on and we bought a few pieces that featured sand from the local beach. He was professional and we enjoyed sharing stories. Definitely stop if you are in the area.

The pottery is beautiful! I have many different cups, plates and vases. I love them all and they are very durable. I have dropped my cup more than once and it is still in one piece ☺

Bought some beautiful mugs for myself and daughters. Love them! They are so special because they include some of our own Lake Michigan sand.

Stopped today because of a recommendation from Dawn at Red Forest Bed and Breakfast. What a wonderful experience. The artist took great time in explaining his process. We learned a lot about the pottery.We enjoyed our stop and loved all the beautiful pottery. We each purchased pieces .

I appreciate ceramic art and this work is beautiful. I found it interesting that some clays incorporated local beach sand. I bought a very small piece to support a local artist. I truly know the work, skills and expense that go into running a studio. I stopped today and the owner was throwing pottery where you could actually see him working! It's worth stopping and seeing the great variety of ceramics.

I love Mr. Martin's work. Its very refined and I think captures well the beauty of the surrounding area. Not only that but the customer service is incredible, and he is very personable.

Great pottery. Run by artist

Do not support this owner. My friend and I are young teenage girls who were visiting Manitowoc today. We noticed this pottery shop on the side of the road and decided to stop by. His work was interesting, and we were chatting with him about his pieces, as we really liked them. I took a picture of one of the mugs, as I was planning on buying a few for my mother and wanted her opinion. Upon seeing this, the owner got upset and told me to delete it. I sincerely apologized, and deleted the pictures. He then became aggressive and asked, “how would you feel if I took a picture of you right now?” My friend and I got very uncomfortable, and left. As we were walking to my car, the owner, an older man, stood at the window and took pictures of us and my car. This was very uncalled for, and he lost two customers today because of his unprofessional and creepy behavior. His work was good, but his nasty attitude does not deserve business.
