Holiday Inn & Suites Wausau-Rothschild, an IHG Hotel

Recently, attended a conference at this hotel and Josh went above and beyond to make my experience at the hotel wonderful. Kudos to Josh for being an exemplary representative for the Holiday Inn Rothschild. Good on you, Josh, your service and kindness is noticeable and appreciated.

This is the second time we have stayed here. The first time absolutely no issues. This time the AC was not working in our room. After letting the front desk know, after that we got to meet Bob in maintenance! The passion he showed about this hotel is the best I've ever seen. Each of the Front desk employees were amazing and wanted to make sure they were doing everything for our stay. We ended up moving rooms, but had a great night's rest to start our travels back home. Thank you to each employee that we worked with, you definitely care about your guests! We will be back!

Stayed for work in the area. The hotel has a restaurant attached to it that makes travel very convenient. It also has a pool and nice fitness center.

From the moment we entered the building we were excited to stay here. Everything is so modern, clean and new. The guy helping me book our room was beyond helpful and made the experience great. The rooms are spacious and clean. I last minute had to ask for a bassinet and the staff was so great about helping us out. We were happy with our overall stay!

My family stayed at this Holiday Inn two weeks in a row and had great experiences both times. We were there for baseball tournaments with teams ranging from 9-14 years old. Paul at the front desk was very friendly. The rooms were nice, there were plenty of gathing spaces, and the hotel was extremely kid-friendly. The 2nd weekend, the hotel was packed for an American Legion conference and the staff took it in stride and made the hotel extremely hospitable. If I am back in town for an overnight, this will be my hotel.

Hotel van driver is so nice and always punctual. Front desk is warm and welcoming.

The moment I walked in I was very happy. Clean fresh bright. The front desk was very helpful. I was told online that it was pullout for my room And I was surprised by a very very nice trendle bed! very comfortable for my 2 children. Only thing is, they have no sheets in the bedroom for the trendle beds. They will kindly deliver to you. The pool area is very warm the hot tub is very hot. The pool is comfortable I was actually able to swim with my kids. The food was phenomenal at the restaurant. This will be place I stay every year!

I honestly had pretty low expectations from previous Holiday Inn stays, but was pleasantly surprised. I'm not sure if they recently renovated, but it felt very modern and clean! Front desk staff was very hospitable. The rooms were reasonably priced. If I'm ever in the area, I would stay again!

I stayed here three nights and it was great, the building was recently remodeled so everything is modern and clean. No complaints about the room, I was very comfortable. The staff was kind and helpful and the restaurant being in the same building is very convenient. If you’re staying in or near the Wausau-Rothschild area this is your best bet!

My stay was nice and comfortable. My room was a nice size for me and a few of my things. The front desk staff and housekeeper was very nice about refilling me with needed room supplies and answering my questions. I thought it was nice that Brandon the shuttle driver was able to assist me with my things and picked me up from the Stoney Creek hotel and drove me and my things across the street to check into the Holiday Inn.It would be nice if the shuttle drivers could take guests for city tour drives and shopping also.

I'd give it 5 stars- Only because my kid enjoyed the pool. It's a renovated hotel which is nice for sure, and I can say I had an excellent night sleep. The pool, hot tub, and fitness center was nice as well. Only issue in my opinion was the restaurant.. way over priced, and the breakfast totally sucked. As I stay at various Holiday inn express locations dozens of times per year, this was my only unhappy breakfast experience. Overall, I'd recommend staying here but keep in mind dining options in the immediate area are not good unless you're hip on fast food. Otherwise, it's an overly priced hotel restaurant option. God speed weary travelers :)

Quite possibly the nicest Holiday Inn to ever exist. The rooms were spacious & included a mini fridge where you could put your own food. The pool was good-sized, and the hot tub was great, too. The place was clean and well-kept. Would definitely stay here again.

I stayed here with my family for a wedding. They were so great to work with and the rooms were awesome. Very clean and well thought out! The bed was very cozy. Thanks so much for providing an exceptional stay 😊

Our group of 40 plus stays here annually for snowmobile races! Paul at the front desk is always fun, goes over and above interacting with the Beach Racing group! Love the newly remodeled rooms! Very clean! Hope you get the lobby furniture soon and everyone gets healthy to open your bar and restaurant.

Nice hotel, bed very comfy, wish I would have had the Whirlpool suite, there used to be a Whirlpool, but it was removed.
Ate in the restaurant and the woman doing carryout orders and maybe hosting, was griping about every order they made.
She stormed around the restaurant putting out negativity.
But the food was good. The room was nice (who watches TV in the bathroom?).

I really can't say enough good things about this hotel. I stayed there recently working a grueling schedule in the great outdoors and I had very little sleep (maybe 5 hours). I left after one night and forgot my pregnancy body pillow and I didn't realize it until I made it to my next job site 2 hours away. I called them, they found it and were so very accommodating! I felt foolish for forgetting it, but the staff is stellar and I should have it again soon. We will DEFINITELY be staying here again in the future.

Paul is the MAN! Had to switch dates last minute and he reserved another of the same room right away so we’d be able to make it. We had the king suite. Everything was clean, and the jacuzzi tub was heavenly. We got put on a good floor and didn’t hear a single person until around checkout time. I know Covid messes with the breakfast so I’m not gonna complain. Denny’s was right down the road :) definitely coming again

This was a beautiful place. Absolutely loved our room except we overlooked the pool area. They kept the lights on all night so our room was brite all night. The darkening curtains did not go all the way across the window. They went only a quarter of the way leaving 3 quarters of the window showing the light. Beds were very very comfortable.
