Great local place with a wonderful hometown, friendly vibe. We love the salad bar with the home-made pickles, soup, and salad dressings. The steaks are excellent. The staff is friendly & helpful. If you have kids be sure to ask for a 'special delivery' from the model train!

Just ate there for our first time. Amazing people, great food and the service I cannot say enough good things about them. Will definitely go again!

This is a true local gem. We just moved to Dubuque and found it, just down the street from our house. The food was great, service was friendly and on point, and the atmosphere felt like growing up in little town midwest america. So with a visit.

We got the prime rib and half rack of ribs for takeout. Both were phenomenal. My husband was actually disappointed he didn’t get a full rack because they were so good he wanted more! Prime rib was perfectly done and delicious. All the staff from ordering to pick up were extremely friendly. I highly recommend!

My buddy and I are huge supper club fans, we grew up in Wisconsin :) There are a few critical boxes that need to checked off for approval. Someone who knows how to cook a steak, the option of a baked potato in its simplest form, iceberg lettuce side-salad (extra points for salad bar), & affordable stiff drinks. While traveling through Dubuque we came across Buddy’s. This place had it all, at top level. Everything was delicious and a super friendly staff to boot. Our waiter took great care of us & kept fantastic communication.

The food was awesome. My sister & I had prime rib & my mom & daughter had homemade hand breaded tenderloins. Food was great & very reasonably priced, will go back for sure. The only disappointment was the salad bar, it needs more like tomatoes, eggs, bacon bits, etc

Very good food! Most of us had steak. Very friendly, great staff. Waited a few extra minutes to get our table, but really nice bartender bought our drinks. Now that was awesome! Will go back again.

I live 3hrs away and would drive here just to eat again. Perfect food, awesome salad bar, very attentive and friendly staff. One of the best dinning experiences I have had.

Love it. Friendly atmosphere. Always have nice convos with bar tender or wait staff. Had my rehearsal dinner there. Catfish collars clam strips and any steak is marvelous. Have a kid ask for the train to drop of candy

Not many of these neighborhood bars left in town...great place for a couple cold beverages, and a fantastic place for a home cooked meal - any dish, you name it, is delicious. It's not the lodge in the mountains of Georgia, but it's humble, quaint and feels like home. Stop in and say hi to Terri, Spanky, and Angie. Choo choo...thanks Buddy!

My boyfriend and I stopped here on vacation. The food and the service were both amazing!!! We will definitely be back! Well worth the hour drive!

Came in from Arizona and were looking for some different food. My wife found Buddy's and we went with some UD baseball players and parents. The food was great and the atmosphere was enjoyable. Our waitress Jessi was very pleasant and amazing. Great little place to visit and enjoy a good conversation! We will be back again to enjoy more of he greta food!!

Stumbled upon his place by accident. It was dubbed the "best kept secret on the north side". That couldn't have been more true. I asked several life long Dubuque residents about the place and none of them had ever heard if it.

Went for prime rib. It was great. Very reasonably priced. Service was great. A nice little neighborhood place. I cant wait to go back

Old time supper club like the ones I always went to in Wisconsin. Small, intimate in the neighborhood. Buddy is real - and he is so welcoming. He really is a great host and owner. The food is awesome - soup & salad bar, steaks were solid. Mashed potatoes, etc. Home made. Makes me long for my childhood days. Makes me think about moving to Dubuque!

Small place with a big heart. Staff treated us like family, even though we said we found you on Travel Asvisor. The girls got a kiss dessert zip lock bag at end of dinner. ...THEN... they had the model train come out and dump another treat for the girls to catch. I could not recommend this place enough. Food, staff, and experience were all 5 stars.

What a great little neighborhood place. Very friendly staff and great food. The Ribeye I enjoyed tonight was done just how I had asked for it to be cooked. Close quarters so be ready to talk to guests around you. Loved it!!!

Excellent steak. The bartender and server were friendly and attentive. The server was quite funny and helped create an enjoyable atmosphere. Will definitely return.
