I keep returning to this store. They have everything I need. Staff is always helpful and friendly in finding my needs. Store lighting is good. Neat alleys. Store is very clean.

Out of this world service. I'll never go anywhere else. They have anything you need and if not, they'll find it. Always friendly, so helpful. You literally feel like family. Small businesses like this are something you don't much find anymore.

I cannot emphasize enough how wonderful of a customer service experience I have found at this store. “Family owned” seems to be thrown around a lot but this is literally a single family running this place and they could not be more welcoming. Their prices are at or under any of the chain places but their personal touch is at such a level I felt compelled to write this review. I have already been encouraging everyone I know to give this place their business and if you’re scrolling past this review I highly recommend you come through too! Skylar and Shane have been incredibly helpful to me three days in a row at closing time with various home project disasters I found myself managing. This family’s knowledge and approachability is special and I’m grateful to have randomly wandered in here; now, I have a go-to source for help and friendly advice.

Went in needing some resizing of holes for a broken chair. Not only were they resized, chair was fully assembled by staff (this chair was the bane of my existence lol). Hardworking, friendly, affordable, and it seems like everybody there loves what they do. Excellent welcome feeling being new to the neighborhood.

Just moved in few blocks away from this killer little, but BIG on options to tackle anything you want to accomplish at home!! Can't not mention that I always try to utilize the local choices over the corporate ones. And the gentleman that popped up when I walked in with a positive, attentive, and very knowledgeable personality/attitude walked me through all of my options to handle my plumbing problem!!! Screw Home Depot, Lowes, True Value, and Menards!!! I know where I'm going for here on out, for any hardware, plumbing, or whatever else I need something to tackle, AND support my local hardware store!!!

The ONLY thing that was not exactly great was figuring out where I could safely & smartly park my vehicle after I arrived today.

Outstanding customer service. They carry a good inventory for basic & emergency situations.

Excellent service from a community-minded business. They offer a lot of product selection for a small store. If they don't carry it, they can likely order it for you. Staff are always friendly and go above and beyond to help you find what you are looking for (or help you figure out what you should be looking for, depending on what project you want to accomplish). It is definitely worth going a bit out of your way to support a stellar local business like Quality Hardware that supports our local economy and community members.

Every time someone comes to visit me in Madison I point out this place when we drive by. It is absolutely unreasonable how much I like this hardware store. First of all, they always have what I’m looking for, even when I was looking for some obscure circular light bulb. Most importantly, they’re very helpful and very kind. I’ve gone in with a handful of parts to something and asked for tips on how to jerry-rig it together, and every time the person I was talking to seemed genuinely excited to help me figure it out. Also sometimes their dog is there and that’s just the best.

I always enjoy going to Quality Hardware. Not only can I walk around the whole place in 1minute, the staff always knows when I need help, and their happy attitude makes you want to talk to them. They might be small, but they always have what I need.

I needed to find a micro star kit or bit and he helped me find exactly what I needed at the lowest cost possible. Really great customer service and knowledge. I just wish they were closer to my home because I plan on making the trip back time after time.

I love having this place in my neighborhood! the employees are always so helpful and they somehow have almost anything I’ve ever wanted in stock. when they didn’t, they ordered it in for me! highly recommend coming here rather than a big chain.

I have been buying from Quality Hardware since 1965. The friendly employees/owners are extremely knowledgeable and, if they don’t have it, they will do their best to find what you need.

Probably the best hardware store in Madison, and I say that as a lifelong Home Depot devotee. The staff always knows what I need or how to get it, and has an unbelievable stock for the size of the building. They continue to conduct great business even when COVID forced them to fill orders solely for pick-up, and they always know what I need even better than I do. No complaints there. They can also order things and are great about knowing the depth and breadth of their own stock and shipping schedules, so if something isn't in I know exactly when to come back, or what would make an appropriate substitute.

Very friendly staff, and the inside is much bigger than it looks like from the outside, so it is a good sized store. A great local shop

I've lived near this place for almost a decade and have visited many, many times over the years for hardware odds and ends. Every time I've gone there I am immediately greeted and asked what I'm looking for. They lead me right to the item and ask if I need anything else. The staff is always friendly and very helpful to suggest alternative items if they don't carry what I'm looking for.

Compare to the times I've been to Home Depot, wandering the aisles hoping to find an employee to help me. When I find one and tell them what I'm looking for they say something like "Is that a tool?" (Yes, they asked me that once) or they just tell me to look somewhere else in the store.

If you need to buy anything at a hardware store come to Quality True Value. It's seriously the best. I'm going there now for duct tape and I'm pretty stoked.

Very helpful. It took two tries, but they found the right specialized nut for an exterior lantern (turned out to be metric thread, 2nd trip I brought one of the old ones with me, always the best plan)

Quality Hardware is such a gem in the Park Street community. Their staff knows what they’re doing and are always helpful. I’ve had nothing but great experiences during the 5 years we’ve lived in the neighborhood.

I’ve especially appreciated their response to the pandemic. A quick call to them and they make sure they have what you need ready for pickup. These phone conversations are quick with their knowledgeable staff, even for a halfwit DIY guy like myself. It’s also worth saying that they were THE FIRST business I saw using plexiglass shields in Madison after the pandemic started. They took it seriously and I’m forever appreciative. Plexiglass shield at the front door with enough room to hand you your products and take your payment. They’re actively keeping themselves and this community safe while continuing to provide great service.

This place is the best! I've lived in this neighborhood for 17 years and have been coming here through that time. It's been in the same family for 3 generations, and the Novotney family couldn't be more helpful or friendly! You will immediately be greeted when coming in, and they'll have what you're looking for in a matter of minutes. This is what a retail hardware store should be!

They are so, incredibly, helpful! Having been to all manner of hardware stores from big-box to small town shops and, generally, having little to no knowledge of what I need the folks at this shop have gained my business for all hardware needs. Rather than the usual anxiety of going to a hardware store and wandering around aimlessly, I get excited to go to True Value on Park Street! :)
