The Works Café

An excellent option for breakfast. The sandwiches are good, and the bowls are okay. I wish there was less quinoa and more veggies in my bowl.

The food was amazing, the employees were awesome and they even had a kids' nook that kept my three young boys entertained for at least an hr. Loved everything about this place.

This is a "white no frill" place. The food was as expected. Not over the top but not any second assortment either. I had a smoked salmon cream cheese sandwich. It was great. It came with onions as well. As with everything with cream cheese, it was added thick enough to get all over the place. I had to get extra napkins so as not to get the cream cheese everywhere.

Very cute atmosphere! I love all the details inside this cafe. We were just passing through town on our way to Maine. My caramel latte had immense flavor. My partner’s carrot mango smoothie was really good too. The bagel sandwiches were just okay. It was a different kind of cheese than Im used to and threw me off.

Excellent fresh made bagels, wide selection of flavors and cream cheeses. Great coffee and chai, and delicious VT cheddar on their breakfast sandwiches. Coffee is serve it yourself, they just give you the cup and the flavoring. Highly recommend for a quick bite!

2023 update. When I first moved back to Brattleboro, this place seemed a disaster. But the managers there have made excellent improvements. I feel bad because I think when I moved back, maybe there was a chunk of new people, because a fair amount of them are still there and doing very well keeping the place orderly and working through lines. Much better

The food came out very fast and great. Their menu is very well formatted for anyone to come in, read quickly and find something they like. They also have a lot of seating available

Delicious food and friendly waitstaff! A wide variety of healthy sandwiches, paninis, and bowls for vegetarians. They have an extensive drink menu with an excellent iced Chai. Our meals were fresh and very tasty. Atmosphere is fun and very hippie Vermont.

Staff are always friendly, and the food is always nicely prepared and good. I get breakfast burritos often and always love’m:)

🥰 I looooove everything about this cafe... especially the good vibes... from those serving and preparing to those enjoying and consuming the delicious food and beverages. We had the Sunshine Burrito... OUTSTANDING... and grabbed to go 2 yummy almond croissants and the best chocolate chip cookie ever. If we lived closer, we'd be regulars... that's how good and special The Works Cafe is... ENJOY!!

You know what you're getting at this place, but I did get a few things I didn't expect. I have been to other "The Works" locations before, but the charm that downtown Brattleboro brings to this location gives it more of a "local joint" feel than any other location. One thing that really separates this location is the friendly and kind staff. I think I'll come back to this location just to see the kind employee Charlie again. They gave me a few recommendations that took my sandwich to the next level, and even pointed me in the direction of a few things to do around town. Their friendly attitude elevated my experience and made me want to go back for sure!

Love this place. Nice to go to to sit and relax. Have something to drink or eat. Watch people go by on main Street

I went here for two drinks "tropical sunrise" and "Brain freeze"
The drinks helped settle my stomach and the Tropical sunrise was very good. However the Brain freeze tasted a bit watery and not very sweet.

Other than that I will keep my original 5 stars because the place is clean, food is made practically in front of you and the service is good.

The breakfast sandwich was very good, and larger than I thought, got my monies worth. A great start to the day for people needing a boost.

Top notch food at a reasonable price and great customer service. Everyone who works here needs a raise! This place often gets BUSY in the lunch rush and the staff get orders out shockingly quickly and correctly, or are quick to remedy any mishaps. It must be so stressful managing it all! And yet everyone I’ve interacted with is so patient and kind- making eye contact and wishing me a good day everytime :)

Always delicious and reasonably priced!

Dana fixed me up with a delicious iced mocha latte with oat milk, today, as I was passing through Brattleboro, tired and weary after a long drive. The menu looked really good, but sadly I had to be on my way. Great atmosphere. And, Dana's friendly nature made my day! I'll be sure make time to dine next time I'm in town. Thanks, Dana, for the tasty latte! ☕😋

I have visited The Works frequently, and would consider myself a regular! Their emphasis on the foods they serve are - value and healthy meals. That said, I can never see past their awesome BLT on Sour Dough Bread. Each time I visit, I vow to try something different. But I always end up ordering this as it is so good. The Works has a varied menu, much of it Organic. They also have a great selection of Smoothies, salads and Sandwiches. Prices are pretty good. Service is excellent too. Employees are so polite and professional, and helpful. If there was one criticism I could make, it would be to add more areas where customers can sit and use there phones, tablets or other electronic devices while plugged in. As far as I can see, there is only two plugs available. If customers could plug their devices in, they would visit more frequently and stay longer buying coffees and foods.

I typically order and pick up. Always ready and delicious. Great salads!

Stopped by while traveling through town to get a to go breakfast for a hike . The sunrise grilled burrito is amazing ! The green machine smoothie was delicious and healthy. I try to replicate them both at home but can’t get it quite as good. The staff was hipster and welcoming . Coffee menu was solid. The place had many customers there to work and relax so if you want to dine in you can enjoy and not be rushed . Any place with local foods incorporated into a menu deserves to be checked out !
