The White Cottage Snack Bar

The fish sandwich was delicious and huge. The onion rings were fresh and homemade. My husband also liked his burger. I wish we would have eaten outside along the river. Cute place.

A fun place for lunch just a short ride from downtown area. Many seating options along the river or inside. Easy to order food and or ice cream (separate windows). Was really glad we chose this place to try!

Ben and Jerry’s is a brand I grew up with as a kid and to now learn about the history was incredible! I greatly enjoyed learning about the different types of ice cream made in the factory. The ice cream selection is extensive but I highly recommend taking the time to read the menu and see what’s new.

Soft serve ice cream was incredible. Loved sitting by the river and enjoying the sweet treats.

Great char broiled burgers, fish sandwiches, excellent fried chicken, chili, bisque etc. Great menu, quick and affordable. Cool fifties era music... (Pretty and professional servers too lol).

Why didn't I take any photos of this super cool little roadside place? After an amazing round of golf in the mountains, I was starving and had zero idea where to eat. I was visiting from Texas and it was my first time ever in the area. On a whim, I pulled in to this joint and it was awesome! The burger was fresh, hot and had a great flavor! With perfect weather, sitting outside was beautiful. After my ice cream I was on my way, hoping that one day I will be back and bring the wife!

Our table got two cheeseburgers, grilled chicken sandwich and a whole belly fried clam dinner and the food was great! Place is having work done because of rain/flood damage but still running. Cash only but they have an ATM. Not fancy just good food and can be busy.

I received cheerful service from the girl at the cash register, and enjoyed the open wi-fi while I waited for my order, clam chowder and roasted corn chowder to go. The roasted corn chowder was smooth and creamy and perfect for a chilly day like today.

Very beautiful river view with "the best fried clam in Vermont". Cannot beat the combination!!

I couldn’t decide what flavor to get so I asked the woman working here what she would do.

She wisely asked: why not get both which was the absolute perfect answer and one I had not considered.

So I got a scoop of vermont maple walnut mixed with black raspberry. Incredible and thick and what you would want from a vermont ice cream.

Can’t wait to come back!

Ice Cream was phenomenal! Great little place and nice area by the water with chairs.

We finished watching all the balloons launch at the Queechee Balloon Festival. We hadn't had dinner yet. The vendors at the festival were closed, closing, or out of supplies. Besides after 2 days of Festival food or budget was pretty battered. Since it was late on a Sunday our options were limited, We were heading back to the campsite so I could grill some burgers in the dark when we saw that White Cottage was still open and serving. It is a simple roadside diner with a great spot on the river. Seating is inside or out. The menu was pretty extensive and the pricing was good. We didn't ask about GF options. My son's strawberry shake was too much for him to finish, so I got to find out it was tasty and had chunks of strawberries. It was definitely a good stop and someplace we will have to put on our list to go back when we are this way again.

This was our second time visiting. Everything was great. You can sit by the beautiful river and eat which is nice.

A wonderful place to grab a quick bite! The prices can't be beat. Eat your meal inside, Or sit in a swinging table outside. When you're done wade in the water right outside. If you're with kids, bring a towel, they will definitely want to play in the water This place only accepts cash

Thank God we stopped here on a whim because hours later the place got flooded out along with alot of Vermont! The banana splits were delicious, and it was nice being able to sit outside to enjoy them while the weather was nice for once!

The best whole belly clams. Portions are huge! A summer must to stop in! Make sure you eat outside to enjoy the view of the river!

Breezed by here twice on trips and loved the food both times. Family run and cooked - nice big menu, nothing fancy but lots of variety and choices for kids. Desert too.

I had a huge burger and was so glad I didn't get fries. I couldn't have eaten it all. The burger was absolutely scrumptious, too! I will definitely be back.

My husband, toddler, Leonberger, and I love this place! Food is always good, and the river is gorgeous!

My wife and I found this to be a true gem in the rough. The greeting was pleasant, good food selection, food made as ordered, in a very cute, neat-as-a pin eating area. Restrooms clean, which for us speaks to behind-the-scenes caring. And the cherry on top: food was delicious! Good serving size, well prepared, no corners cut. The only thing I would recommend is making sure there's an American flag out front, along with the cool car! We have A LOT to be thankful for. Highly recommended! Thank you people and keep up the good work!
