We had another wonderful experience staying at the Echo Lake Inn. It is filled with the charm of a small old New England Inn and has wonderful warm and welcoming staff, who are very accommodating to your needs. The location is perfect for activities during all the seasons, though we tend to go there in the Fall for leaf peeping and in the Winter for snowmobiling and Skiing. There is an outdoor pool on the property and a lake right next door for those traveling during the warmer months.

I absolutely love that there is a large and inviting sitting area and bar room on the main floor right next to their restaurant, as well as a game room downstairs with a pool table and darts amongst other games. I also love that a wonderful breakfast each morning is included with your stay in their restaurant and the dinner in there is fabulous. The chefs do amazing work, the French onion soup, the Angus ribeye steak with delicious potatoes and vegetables and the cheesecake were amongst the best I have ever had. The service at the restaurant was great and our Cosmo and Chocolate martinis were excellent. We will definitely be back!

I recently stayed there with my family on our ski trip and we were very well taken care of here. It is old fashioned Inn, in a cute way, with a very welcoming atmosphere. The first thing I noticed was the wonderful smell of pine trees that filled the space. Our stay was very pleasant and we will definitely be coming back.

Perfect little in for a ski weekend! Really enjoyed ourselves this weekend. The inn is a classic New England escape, filled with charm and warmth We were in room with a jacuzzi and I often am a little skeptical of those kinds of tubs but it was squeaky clean. The cherry on top that made me write a review was the food. We had an incredible meal - French onion soup and the duck were stand outs! The staff was so attentive and friendly. Smaller inns can be harder to staff and it’s clear that this is a well oiled machine! Stay here!

I stayed with my family during mid Feb for a little skiing trip and had the amazing luck to stay at this beautiful place.
The inn has this cozy, oldschool vibe; it has a jacuzzi, a tavern, restaurant, everything. The food is amazing (maybe a little bit pricey) and the crew and hospitality staff were super sweet and kind to us.
I totally recommend this place and I hope I have the good fortune to stay here again sometime.
P.S.: I loved all the gnome statuettes they have throughout the hotel lol

I just can't say enough great things about this place. I have stayed 2 years in a row. Once was with friends in one of the condo suites and one in a king suite. The rooms were all extremely clean. The staff and especially Tom the owner are extremely nice and go out of their way for hospitality. Truly gives you the small town feeling. The food is always done well and prices are very reasonable. The drive to Okemo is under 10 mins. If you haven't considered this place for your next ski trip, you are missing out.

Thanks for everything!

I stayed at the historic Echo Lake Inn for a long weekend to attend a celebration of life that was held in a large tent just behind the Inn. The food, atmosphere and service were superb, and the event could not have been more perfect! Family and friends had travelled from all around the country for the event and we all stayed at the Inn. It was so nice to spend quality time with friends in this special place.

The Echo Lake Inn is a great place to shift into low gear, and unwind. With comfortable rooms, a quiet atmosphere, and beautiful nature all around, it is very peaceful, yet there are plenty of activities to enjoy, like darts, billiards, board games, a swimming pool, and a jacuzzi. They have Wifi (if you want to stay connected) or you just could curl up with a book in the living room or in a rocking chair on the porch. I really enjoyed taking in the view of the lake during a walk in nature and then sitting beside a nearby stream.

With the great folks working there, you will feel at home and so comfortable at this lakeside retreat. I highly recommend the Echo Lake Inn!

My husband and I recently celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary at Echo Lake Inn. Echo Lake Inn was hosting a Murder Mystery Weekend which was an absolute blast! The food at the ELI restaurant is exquisite. 5 stars all the way, as is the courtesy and efficiency of the waitstaff, and the hospitality of the owner, Tom. We highly recommend a stay.

We were privilege to attend the first Mystery Weekend not only at Echo Lake Inn, but also the state of Vermont. When you walk through the doors you feel the old time charm with a super friendly staff. The food was nothing less than magnificent. The hors d'oeuvres they serve were to die for and super clean. The mystery was good trying to figure out who committed the murders.

The best of all personally is I left my Kindle reader on the bed and misplaced a diamond and ruby earring. The hotel notified us they had the Kindle and they searched for the earring and notified us when it was found. Excellent service and honesty.

We had our wedding here in May 2023 and it was amazing. We knew we wanted to have a venue with a lot of lodging (we had ~105 guests), an outdoor setting, and that included extras like catering. We loved that we had the inn for the whole weekend. We had a welcome dinner on the front lawn Friday night, our ceremony Saturday in the dell followed by the reception in the tent and an after party both nights in the inn's downstairs tavern. The food was great. Tom the innkeeper/wedding coordinator was great to work with, he knew his stuff and helped us a lot.

Not even a thousand year flood event less than a month prior to our wedding could derail Tom and his amazing staff from providing an unforgettable experience for all of our guests (and us!). They worked with us almost daily on making sure everything went perfectly smooth, re-arranging accommodations, and working round-the-clock to make everything about the weekend was taken care of and all we had to do was show up and smile!

Highly recommend for an event, lodging, or dinner.

This place is great. Come here for a ski weekend and had to change around the reservation as I was checking in. Everyone in the staff was patient, flexible, and accommodating. The rooms are clean and warm, and the restaurant on the first floor has a delicious menu.

Absolutely wonderful relaxing place to retreat to! I've had the most peaceful sleep of my life here and even got to do a bit of fly fishing in the creek just across the street. The staff is a pleasure to interact with. They served a delicious breakfast in a cozy intimate dining room. I can't stress enough that the food is fantastic!!! The food alone made the visit worth it 10x over. There's a tennis court and pool but I spent most of my time chatting with family and enjoying nature.

This is a quaint and cozy bed and breakfast. It was built in 1840s, thus the regular rooms, bathrooms and showers are compact, and the sounds travel freely. It is within a 5-7 minute drive from the mountain. The buffet breakfast was fresh and delicious. Home fries are the best! We were very impressed by the dinner and the vast wine selection! Everything was fresh and done just right. The duck breast was cooked to perfection! There is a large hot tub on the property, however it was being repaired on our visit. This old hotel has a nice calm atmosphere.

This is one of the best hotels I have stayed at. The rooms and common areas are old but meticulously clean. We stayed in the Tyson Suite and it was perfect for four people (two adults and two kids). The innkeepers make sure your stay is pleasant. The restaurant at the inn is also five stars and it had the most delicious food we had in a long time. It is close to the ski slopes, the Spring House where you can use the gym and pool with a daily pass and many local hikes. There is a reason the inn has been in business for over 200 years and the current owners are ensuring that it continues to offer a world class experience.

We came here solely for dinner and had a great experience. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. They first show you to the sitting room for a drink, of which they had great variety. I especially enjoyed the house made mulled cider. After a short while, they brought us to our table in the dining room and it was very inviting. Exactly what you'd expect for a cozy Vermont inn. Charming wallpaper, classic wood furniture, beams, and all. The food was wonderful as well, I enjoyed seeing venison on the menu and they prepared it very well. They also had wonderful soups and other various entrees. The entire experience was so warm and pleasant.

There was also a cozy sitting room with real fires burning, and another bar downstairs, but we didn't venture down there. Maybe next time!

If you are visiting the Okemo or Killington area, I highly recommend The Echo Lake Inn

Stayed there in the winter for a ski trip. Amazing for a romantic getaway. The staff is like family and every night we’d grab a drink and head downstairs for pool and darts. The breakfast was freshly handmade every day and the dinner was the best in town. The room was a bit small and old fashioned but that added to the coziness of the inn.

We were greeted by penny at the front door, after calling saying that we would be a little early due to a ski related injury. The staff were nothing but inviting to us, even offering ice right away, and helping us to our room. In addition, Tom, the owner, was very kind to everyone and kept the spirits high. Not to mention, even though the rooms are a little dated, they were clean and comfortable. The breakfast in the morning was fabulous too. I would highly recommend this inn to anyone in the area. The best experience I’ve had in a hotel for a long time! Best of wishes to others who stay there.

My wife and I had our wedding in August 2021 at Echo Lake Inn and it was absolutely perfect. We reserved the venue over a year before and throughout the entire planning process, Tom, Rachel, and the entire Echo Lake team were always ready to help and answer any questions we had.

From the very first meeting with Tom, the innkeeper and wedding coordinator, to the final busy days before the event, we knew our wedding was in good hands. We wanted a weekend-long wedding at a venue that could accommodate our 65-person guest list and Echo Lake Inn was absolutely perfect. All of our guests had a wonderful time and many told us it was one of the best weddings they had ever attended. And while the gorgeous surroundings and many amenities definitely played a part, it was really the people at Echo Lake that made our wedding a success. They took care of everything. From making sure our guests with dietary restrictions had delicious specially-made meals, to ferrying the guests who needed some extra assistance to the ceremony space via golf cart, to quietly ensuring my wife and I always had full water glasses on our sweetheart table at the reception, so we could dance the night away, the Echo Lake team never missed a beat!

Finally, as my wife and I held our wedding during the COVID-19 pandemic, we also wanted to express our gratitude for the effort and flexibility the Echo Lake team put into making our event as safe as possible. The gorgeous outdoor ceremony and reception spaces were perfect for us. Even during the dancing, the tent felt well-ventilated and spacious. The large porch meant folks could eat outside for every meal if they didn’t feel comfortable eating inside the inn, and the wealth of outdoor activities in beautiful Ludlow kept everyone out in the fresh air for much of the weekend.

We would highly recommend holding your wedding and or any event at Echo Lake Inn. The natural beauty, incredible professionalism, and amazing staff all combined to create an unforgettable weekend for us and our guests. We can’t wait to come back for a visit!
