We chose to celebrate our mom’s 80th birthday here on a Wednesday night. They were able to accommodate a reservation for our group of ten. I hadn’t been here for many years and was so pleased that it has kept its charm and continues to innovate with its food and drink menu. Our server was very well informed about food allergies and preferences and the service was very classy. We all left very satisfied and will definitely be back!

I went to this place to celebrate my birthday because everyone told me it was the best place. I really loved their beet tartare. It was delicious. Main course was ok, cause I was super hungry. Service was ok, but my server for sure was not interested in me cause I was alone and not drinking 🤣 for example she put bread on top of the used teabag into the dirty plate, btw look at the size of the bread, huge piece)) I put it into the clean plate for pic))
I didn’t get why I have to pay alcohol tax if I didn’t drink, but it’s ok. When I asked for the check, even though I didn’t want to eat desert she bring me a birthday scoop. It was very nice of her. So in conclusion: it was ok

This is one of the best fine dining restaurants we have been to. Our server Clemens was superb and a true professional--so attentive and efficient. Our appetizer, salad and entrees were perfectly spaced. He filled our water glasses without being asked, and filled our wine glasses just as we needed more wine.

The food was fresh, delicious and expertly prepared. My duck was the best I've ever had and my wife's halibut was amazing. The pear ginger sorbet for dessert had the same texture as a pear.

The ambience in the restaurant is nice, and it's perfect for a romantic dinner. Definitely will return the next time we vacation in the area.

We happened to be in Woodstock for a holiday trip and had the pleasure of dining here. It's not often you walk out of a restaurant thinking these people nailed it in all aspects - but they did (great food, cozy atmosphere, amazing service). Our server Sarah was wonderful and made the whole experience that much better. We will certainly be back if every in that area.

Absolutely fantastic experience. We didn’t have a reservation but they were able to squeeze us in. One of the best meals we’ve ever had. We had the crab cakes and the filet mignon, with the chocolate cake to top it off. Will definitely be making another visit soon. Thank you!

Being in Vermont my whole life, this is probably the best meal I've had in the state. The ambiance has such a classic new england charm and is not overly elegant and stuffy. Local art highlights the walls and candles burn on each rustic ly elegant table. The service from Sarah was top notch. She was knowledgeable, kind, and approachable. Last but certainly not least the food here is incredible. The savory profiterales were as interesting as they were delectable and the schnitzel was the best I've ever had. Not to mention the basque cheesecake topped everything off great. Couldn't recommend this spot more!

Very enjoyable evening. Our server was attentive and helpful. The Country Pate was very good as was the Smoked Salmon. I tried the Carré d’Agneau Royale (boneless Rack of Lamb) and it was very good. My wife tried the Magret of Duck (boneless Duck Breast) and very much enjoyed the preparation. I would absolutely come back.

Tonight my boyfriend and I dined at the Prince and the Pauper on their opening night of the outdoor patio space. Upon first impression we noticed the charming area with five outdoor tables, surrounded by beautiful raised beds, bistro lights and the outdoor patio heaters which not only provided ambience but also warmth for the chilly VT evening. Our waitress was lovely and very attentive throughout the evening. The food was prepared to our liking and the taste exceeded our expectations. We would highly recommend the Prince and the Pauper to anyone looking for a first class dining experience in Woodstock, VT.

During our mini-vacation in Vermont last summer, we visited this spot, highly recommended by relatives. A reservation is required, and they are SUPER popular. So, make sure to book a reservation 2-3 weeks in advance.

Since we made our reservation late (which was still 2 weeks in advance!), and we were lucky enough to get their last reservation available, at the bar counter. The bar was really beautiful, made with an antique wooden bar.

We started off with “Made in Vermont” cocktail section of the drink menu, and ordered Not-So- French Martini, and Maple-tini. Our bartender/server for the evening, Tracey, made our drinks and gave us the excess in small shakers. It had enough for a second glass! Thank you! The drinks were strong and flavorful, really nice!

We did Prix Fixe Menu. For the first course, we chose House Smoked Salmon and Count Neck Clams, both simply delicious. What an amazing start! Second course was a House Salad, super fresh and tasty. For the third course, we had Oven Roasted Atlantic Cod, and Carré d’Agneau Royale. AMAZING. They were both packed with flavor, fireworks going on in my mouth good.

Everything was so great, we couldn't just end there. So, we ordered Vienna Coffee with Irish Whiskey with some dessert. We sure how how to live! We ordered Vermont Cheesecake and Pistachio Milk Chocolate Dacquoise. The cheesecake is to die for. Oh. My. Goodness!

Needless to say, we had a wonderful time here. Everything we had was great, from the first drink to the last bite. Tracey took a great care of us the entire night, we feel like we had more fun sitting at the bar instead of at a table. This was the best dining experience we had in Vermont, and we will be sure to return for more the next time we visit Vermont!

Had dinner here last night. The pâté and ravioli for appetizers were outstanding. Salads for intermediate course was lovely with a fantastic vinaigrette. For main course, I had the pan seared scallops which were amazing and my other half had the rack of lamb which was more ample than your normal portion. Coffee was fresh, everything was wonderful. Service was spectacular. We highly recommend.
