October Country Inn

Been a while since I stayed at a "real" B&B and I was not disappointed. Room was comfortable, breakfasts were excellent (but, be warned: if you're lucky enough to have the sour cream pancakes, they will RUIN other pancakes for you forever!), and the hosts are two of the most genuinely nice people I have ever met. It's a bit pricey so be prepared (what isn't in Vermont on the cusp of leaf peeper season), but you won't be disappointed!

This is the best kept secret in Vermont. My husband and I just spent 4 nights here (snagged the last room!) for a vacation from the Atlanta heat and also so I could run the covered bridge half marathon in Woodstock. To say we did not want to leave is an understatement. The inn is gorgeous, spotless, and peaceful. We truly felt it indulged us and all our whims. We enjoyed the common areas filled with games/books and chatting with other guests during breakfasts but also enjoyed the privacy of our room and the outdoor grounds (so beautiful!). The food was fresh, local, flavorful, abundant, and delicious. The innkeepers were knowledgeable, helpful, and funny. The cookie jar was always filled with freshly baked cookies. This was not only great lodging, it was an experience in and of itself. We now feel horribly let down by all the other places we have stayed in the U.S. We will be back!

We had a wonderful time at the October Country Inn - so much so that we actually came back and finished our Vermont Vacation here, just like we started it!
The rooms and the house itself are just as you would imagine a Vermont Bed and Breakfast to be - quaint - perfectly furnished with comfortable yet classic antiques and run by the most charming couple you would ever want to meet!
Chuck cooks up a storm for breakfast - the scones are really fantastic (they should be boxing and selling those for take home) and on top of all that, it is perfectly located right near the Long Trail Brewery and also close to both Killington and Woodstock Vermont. I cannot recommend October Country Inn highly enough! Use the NJ Coffee mug for me - you won't believe the incredible selection of coffee mugs!

It's small, cozy, and very laid back with an interesting cow theme. The hosts/owners have great local knowledge and advice for skiing Killington, and it's a 10 min drive to the skyship base lodge. Breakfast is excellent, amazing food and just the right size portions. We will be back again for sure

We had a great stay at the October Country Inn. Edie and Chuck were very friendly and welcoming. The room was very clean and comfortable and the breakfasts were fantastic!

The October Country Inn is nothing short but the Best. The many times I have stayed there Edie and Chuck have treated me like gold. The Inn is VERY clean and well maintained, and the breakfast is out of this world!

I want to thank both of you for the hospitality and the wonderful breakfast with you both. You made us feel like family. (BTW: JANICE BAUMANN AND I REALLY LOVE YOUR QUILTS!.) The 4 of us had a great time and look forward to seeing you again.

Great hospitality, room for 4 was huge! Fireplace, fresh baked cookies, and breakfast was very nice. Right across from the Long Trail Brewery too!

I've been here three times and always enjoy my stay. The owners are great and the place is really nice. I would recommend it to anyone.
