Uptown Cafe

Wonderful Mom and Pop run breakfast and lunch cafe. A block from the Morrow Hotel and right next to the Metro. The owners were fabulous and great to talk with. Was visiting D.C. with my Mom, son, and nephew and it was are go to for breakfast while we were there.

Food is amazing, coffee is delicious, and atmosphere rocks. This place is my comfort place during the mornings!

This is my favorite place in NoMa and one of my absolute favorites in DC. The food is fresh and comforting. The staff and owners are really nice warm people. You usually don’t get this level of service in DC at a counter-service restaurant.

The staff are a nice Korean family and they are the sweetest people. They even speak some Spanish!

No food photos because I ate already lol, but this place is really a hidden gem. I only wish they were open later, but I think they are smart to not overwork themselves. That’s probably why they are so consistently good.

This place is great if you want something good, quick and easy on the wallet. The service was very friendly. The pancakes were delicious and cooked just the way I like them; the perfect combo of crispy and fluffy. This will be one of my go-to spots in DC.

Great customer service and great prices. Not the fanciest, but the 5 stars is for service and just a solid breakfast. They don’t skimp on cream cheese with your bagel 🥯 (better get some napkins!) keep up the great work!!

My egg sandwich and pancakes were excellent, the staff is super nice especially to someone like me who was struggling to figure out what to order. This place is full of community and serves it well, an amazing place that hopefully doesn't get gentrified out of NoMa!

Very quick service! Nice to have an affordable place close to our Airbnb. Much less expensive than most places.

I came here to get some work done while I waited for a friend and decided to get some lunch. I ordered the "Logan" wrap. I must say it was very savory. Not only that but the staff is friendly, fast and clean. It almost reminded me of a NY bodega. Had a similar style and vibes to it. Highly recommend. Oh, I cant forget. It was sooo cost effective too.

Friendly staff and one of the best breakfast places in the area.

A great hole in the wall for breakfast. They get busy so if you can get there before 8 or after 9:30 then your wait should be minimal. Food is made to order and always piping hot. The owners are always on the register, and she is a bit clueless with things, but nice. I haven't had any issues. The omelets are great!

This place is across the street from my apartment and the staff happens to know my order by memory now. You walk in and are instantly greeted by the owners, the wife who runs the register and front of house operations, and the husband who handles the deliveries etc. The cook who works effortlessly on the flat top, max greets you with a smile and prepares the most delicious bodega-style egg sandwiches without breaking a sweat. Uptown Cafe has been a namesake of NoMa, DC and I would love to see it stay that way. Go check them out, and yes they are still open with contact-free takeout! You won’t be disappointed!

Great option for affordable, quick bites. Cross between a bodega and a diner. Pretty good sandwich, big menu. Fast counter service and big seating area.

Love this place! Super nice people, fast service, large variety of food and VERY affordable. I mean $5.25 for four eggs, two pieces of toast, and home fries! The only negative is that they are not open later, or on Sundays.

Really simple corner bodega with ripping good morning food and coffee. Nothing fancy at all, just simple, quick, & tasty.

The food is real. Solid prices. Tasty and hearty. I appreciate that my coffee and breakfast sandwich aren’t the same price.

Service was fast and friendly, and everything was tasty and a great value. Perfect place for a quick bite in the morning.
