The Blue Water House

Absolutely perfect in every way! Our room was beautiful, clean, and perfect for watching the sunset. All three floors of the house contained interesting, beautiful, and quirky art. The location was quiet but close to town, the beach, and the bike trail. There was ample off street parking, too. But it was Rick and Tony (and Ringo) that made our stay outstanding. They were so accommodating and willing to help with anything we needed. And the breakfast-WOW! Tony is an amazing chef and prepared several different selections each morning. The breakfast alone is enough of a reason to stay here. We are really looking forward to coming back to the Blue Water House the next time we visit Lewes. Thank you Rick and Tony for making our stay amazing!

I've never actually stayed here, but I meet with the craft beer group often here. It looks like it's really fun to stay at. The rooms are decorated differently and there's all kinds of interesting items throughout. Also, great outdoor BBQ area. Short walk to the beach.

A really eclectic B&B with some very cool themed rooms. The manager/cook did a very nice job making sure guests had everything they need. The place is as described on their website. Definitely a place to return for a nice shore weekend.

Absolutely love this place. I've stayed here twice and have told all my friends about it. The location is amazing - a ten minute walk to the beach or back into town and a ten minute drive over to Cape Henlopen. The building itself is like Pee-wee's Playhouse on summer vacation and I love investigating all the art and decorations. The staff are so nice and accommodating and Tony is a great cook. The whole experience is like staying at your uncle's house. They offer beach chairs, bikes, and always have drinks and snacks available. Wonderful location and service for the price. Will definitely stay here again in the future.

This was our second year staying at the Blue Water House. We had an incredible time. The house is wonderful, filled with all kinds of art from the floor to the ceilings. The beach is a few minutes walk away. They prepare a wonderful breakfast for guests in the morning. The blueberry pancakes we had were made from fresh blueberries picked right from the bushes that grow by the beach. They are family friendly, incredibly welcoming, kind people, that make guests feel at home. We love the BWH and will absolutely stay with them again! ☺

We've been here before, so no surprises. The place is eclectic. The staff are awesome. Friendly and accommodating. Comfortable laid-back B&B. Nice selection of fruit, Danish, and muffins. They have a special meal each day, but will fix you something by request. This weekend was a delicious French toast casserole that was scrumptious. The kitchen is always open for coffee, water, and snacks. The balcony makes for a pleasant place to gather with other folks that are in your party. We booked for next year already.

A fun and family friendly bed and breakfast steps away from the Delaware Beaches. Was greeted at the door by the official greeter, Remy, who has his very own Instagram account! (Remy_bluewaterhouse)

Artwork covers the walls and the longer you look the more you see! The rooms are decorated and painted in a Florida Keys theme which made me feel right at home.

Rick and Tony are the perfect hosts providing snacks and water in the dining room along with a delicious hot breakfast made daily.

I highly recommend staying here if you want fun to be a part of your stay!

Really amazing stay and highly recommend! Everyone from the hosts to the guests were so welcoming and the place itself is incredible. The decorations and energy make you feel like you're instantly on vacation and it was nice to be within walking distance to some restaurants. Nice breakfast in the morning was a great way to wrap up our stay here.

My husband & I can't say enough nice things about our stay last weekend for our 46th wedding anniversary. We were treated so kindly. It was comfortable & a perfect place to kick back in an atmosphere that was so us. We will be going back again since everyone made us feel welcomed in a friendly & professional setting. We can't say enough positive things about The Blue Water House! Walking distance to the canal and shops as well as the beach. Rick and Tony are fantastic and you feel at home from the moment you arrive. Breakfast was fantastic with continual snacks and beverages in the kitchen all day long. The entire place was extremely clean and comfortable. We will be back for sure!

This unique b & b is a gem. From the minute we pulled into the place we were wowed. An awesome eclectic mix of wonderful items that will make you smile. Tony greeted us straight away and we wanted for nothing during our stay. Wonderful room, wonderful food, wonderful staff. Thanks so much. We WILL BE BACK!!

Feel like home everytime I come to enjoy few day s around Lewes..the cleanliness, the attention, the help ..Rick and his team had everything there for you to have a great staying.. Such a wonderful find! Funky, fun and very well appointed! They have everything from bikes, beach equipment to boogie boards. The bed was super comfortable and everything clean! The breakfast was a smorgasbord of delish food. Everything you could want. Great location too. A must.

Awesome, we had a last minute family getaway in mind. This place has everything you need. The art is fantastic throughout the whole house- the house is big and pletny of room for all their B& B guests. Everyone was super friendly towards our pup & kiddo. Free bikes to use ( and helmets) Free beach towels to use, snacks and water provided throughout. The owners and manager were super helpful with everything we needed. The cleaning lady was super sweet in getting my son a cot for the 2nd night we stayed over. The beach is only a 4 minute walk down the road. The town is a 7-10 minute walk away over the bridge. The rooms were very nice and unique styled. We went with our 12 year old son and pup ( 3 months old). We had help booking in a few minutes and got a really funky room the first night ( Key west room) it has a nice balcony area and look out to the street. The second night we had a smaller room called beach room wth shells on the walls and everywhere ( really funky fun place to stay). the shower head changes color which was really fun and cool. Their was a "back enterance to get to the back yard area" . There is a small yard for dogs to use. Their is a library area upstairs to read books ( 3rd floor) and a community dining room where you get your breakfast and coffee. The place is clean and really nice- I recommend staying here. The owners have 1 older dog and one younger one the older one does not move around to much - they are both friendly. There are cats that stay outside in this area and 1-2 on the property but they do not go near people they just hang out. There is an outside area to sit and cookout if needed as well as parking for your car when there. There is a hose to hose off from beach. The beach was nice and family friendly. We will be back we really had a nice time here. The food and snacks that were provided in kitchen were really nice and everything was covered no issues with bugs or germs here! I would recommend booking ahead to get the room that you want each room is a bit different and unique in its own way.

No way to describe this key west themed, small and low key funky! A sensational treat for your senses from fabulous bronzes to the Manager’s son’s art—every wall in room and hallways and all 3 floors! As friendly as it gets, the Blue Water offers up a breakfast that is overwhelming and delicious! Homemade by Tony…”I have pancakes, waffles, scrambled eggs, omelettes, chainsaw alerts, vegetable omelette, any breakfast meat you’d like. I made fresh muffins this morning along with health bars and a special spice cake.”There are bagels cereals and anything to go out for a quick American breakfast if you like that instead of feasting out!

Fantastic place, can walk to Lewes Beach, and to town for dinner or shopping. Great breakfast, comfortable rooms. Decor is just amazing. Rick and Tony are super friendly, and make you feel so welcomed. Already looking for our next trip. And we love Remy, the dog, and Tony's son!

Eclectic doesn’t begin to describe the Blue Water House in Lewes, DE. Our first—-and not our last——stay this week was a combination of out- of- body experience, and a 48 hour release from reality—-which was exactly what we were seeking prior to a holiday weekend packed with normal!

Nothing about this place was normal!

No disrespect, but when you check into the Blue Water House this is no Courtyard Marriott or Hilton! Your imagination is completely challenged when you step foot into this first rate lodging and Bed & Breakfast experience!

Just as you arrive, The personal service from the owner—-Rick—--who is visible at the property daily—was warm, cordial, and professional!

Walking through the Inn before checking in, we were also able to view other rooms and meet the staff, while exploring the amazing collection of artifacts and detail that make this the most interesting place I’ve ever seen in my three decades of global travel.

Every evening in the Hemingway Room, the bed, double shower, paintings, wall hangings, and furniture made us feel as though we were in another country with all the strappings of being on safari!

Absolutely fantastic location within walking distance to the charming town of Lewes DE, which hosts a handful of superb bars, pubs, six star restaurants, and shops, Also Blue Water House is only a mile from the famous Cape May Ferry! Not to mention, it is also only two blocks from the gorgeous private beaches of the Delaware Bay, and Blue Water House has a fleet of bikes at your disposal for touring around Lewes!

Meals were delicious, and chef Tony’s culinary creativity matched the decor, while there was also everything you’d need to replenish your thirst and/or or appetites for late night snacks.

This place just puts smile on your face that you can’t explain until you visit! So, If you are up for something interesting, different, fun, relaxing, beautifully bizarre, and absolutely abnormal, put Blue Water House and Lewes, DE on your list! The gents running the house are extremely kind, informative, and the breakfast is outstanding! Very clean and comfortable! The art and decor of each room and floor and outside fit perfectly! Our first time and we will be back!! Thank you!!

WOW! The Blue Water House, Lewes DE....it was absolutely fabulous. The decor in every room was beautiful and tastefully done. Our room, the Hemingway, was spotless, well thought out with a nice deck, bath and shower area were large with a full array of towels, lotions, shampoo. The bed was super comfortable, cable TV, wifi, plenty of lights and even a mini fridge. The owner, Rick, has some great decorating ideas. I never in my 59 years seen rooms that were so tastefully decorated. Tony served breakfast. This can can certainly cook. Each dish was delicious. Breakfast served with a full assortment of eggs, yogurt, oatmeal, fruit, cereal, etc to meet anyone’s taste, Snacks were available 24/7 in the kitchen and free. Both Rick and Tony were superior hosts. Such great people who were both on site to tend to our needs. My family was very happy with everything. What else can anyone ask for who is looking for a Bed and Breakfast in Lewes, DE? Terrific location, great food, great accommodations, terrific owners, along with wifi, cable and everything else anyone would want while vacationing. Oh, and if you need bicycles, lounge chairs, beach towels, they got those too. Definitely, this was a great choice. Highly recommend.

Blocks away from the bay beach, location is wonderful. The staff is friendly and helpful, place is so fun! Offbeat hotel but incredibly well maintained and clean, both in rooms and common spaces. AC is great too, outside temp was in the mid 90's and humid and rooms stayed cool the whole time. We had a room with a balcony and swing which we relaxed on in the morning.
