Edit: Pluma has become my favorite bakery in DC. The baked goods are sophisticated, high-gloss, fresh, and delicious, which is rare to find! The bread pudding is to die for, with a mix of chocolate bread inside. The multigrain bread is also fantastic.

The pain suisse I had was fantastic, light and airy with an almond paste and some melted chocolate chips. It was clearly freshly baked in house and so delicate. The coffee is really good too!

Only comments would be the floors and tables could be a little cleaner but the food is worth it!

It took me a while to make it to Noma to try the croissants there! Omg incredible. They beat Christophe in Georgetown by miles. Incredibly fresh, tasty, fluffy. Can't wait to go back.

Walking into Pluma's bright tiles, dope lights, and high ceilings set the scene. The music playlist enhances your experience as a solo diner or small group. The pastries look next level. I went for the Sammy#2 with fennel sausage – the protein was mild flavored and a great base for the build the bread is perfect with a crispy crust and a soft core, I didn't taste any of the comte cheese but the egg was perfect for dunking. No doubt, I'm coming back – Pluma's got that neighborhood swag and good vibes.

The food is phenomenal! I had a scone, pumpkin chocolate bread, and a chocolate croissant. Also had a cafe mocha. I wish I had purchased more for the long drive home. The service was also exceptional!

Love this bakery!

Highly recommend - their croissants and pan au chocolate are top notch. They also have cookies, savory croissants and lots of choices of bread. I haven’t tried it yet, but they do also offer a short menu of small bites.

And finally, they offer coffee! I’ve tried their Spanish latte thus far, which I have to say - was pretty tasty. I don’t think I would come here specifically for coffee, but definitely hit the spot when I was looking for my coffee fix while already getting my bread!

In my opinion, one of the best bakeries in the city!

Absolutely loved this little bakery/coffee shop! We got breakfast - the pork belly Sammy which unfortunately I didn’t get a pic of, but it was delicious 🤤 & the ricotta toast & cappuccino were equally amazing. I can’t wait to come back here every time I’m in DC!

This is the best bakery I’ve ordered from hands down. Every bake was perfect. Truly impressive.

We ordered the breakfast sandwich and croque…and for fun some cookies and a loaf of bread. Cookies were so good I wish we’d ordered a dozen. And the bread had a perfect crust and crumb structure. Highly recommend!

We came here on a weekend afternoon, and the store was full. The pastry is pretty good, and the coffee is also great. I like the interior design of it (e.g., the mid-century modern style, open kitchen). There are not many indoor seats, so if you plan to “work in a coffee shop”, this might not be the best option during weekend, but if you just want to enjoy some good pastry and coffee, then it’s definitely a good place! I love Pluma and go there at least once a month to get weekend pastries. The chocolate pistachio croissant is my favorite. HOWEVER, the staff just isn’t friendly. They treat you as if they were doing you a favor. The owners should address this issue to get a 5 star review.

I absolutely love Pluma. I steadily made my way through the menu after living nearby for a year. Their baked goods are fantastic (pistachio croissant and morning bun especially), but I really adore Pluma for their breakfast/lunch food.

Having tried mainstays (Croque madame, avo toast, breakfast sammy's, etc.) and seasonal specialties (ramp toast, fried chicken sandwich), I was consistently enamored with the meals. Their breakfast sammy #2 goes craaaazy with the double fennel sausage, the Croque madame was the best I've ever had, and the fried chicken sandwich blew me away given the sheer proportions, herbal flavor explosions, and immaculate bread. Also, definitely try the hot sauces they keep by the utensils.

Since they're a bakery, of course, their bread is top-notch, but they also source the rest of their ingredients exceptionally. While not cheap, Pluma always felt like a great use of money, unlike Union Market around the corner where everything feels overpriced.

A couple of notes: they only serve food-to-go, and since the kitchen is not their main purpose, hot food can take a little while. Be patient, and good things will come.

Pluma is amazing - great pastries, delicious coffee, and their avocado toast is some of the best I’ve ever had.

Amazing pastries, coffees, breakfast sandwiches, etc. Customer service is always nice and helpful. The only drawback is that it’s small and there’s not a lot of seating, but it always works somehow!

Probably my favorite bakery/coffee stop in DC. Great baked goods selection made fresh every day, great coffee, and a super friendly staff are very indicative of the care put into everything they do here. Solid 5 stars.

The baked goods here are among the best in DC. Can’t speak to their sandwiches or lunch items as I don’t usually come here for those. Prices are comparable to slightly higher than other DC bakeries.

Stumbled into this place by chance and am so glad I did. The coffee actually tasted great, a rarity these days, the quiche was quite satisfying and the cheesecake was perfection, melts in your mouth and a perfect balance of flavors. Will have to come back for more.

My god - some of the best pastries in DC. Coffee is also excellent. Only wish there was more indoor seating

Pluma is an elegant bakery that the NE didn't know we needed! The pastries are fresh and brought out of their open kitchen to the front counters throughout your time so there's always something new and fresh to try. The latte ($4) is possibly the best I've had in DC. The breakfast sammy has port belly, pesto, and an egg open faced on delicious - if hard to cut - bread for $9.5. I highly recommend the avocado toast with an egg ($5.5 plus egg). Seating is limited so probably not wise for a group over four.

We tried many different items at Pluma, and all were delicious. The plum lemonade is slightly sweet and delicate. The chocolate rye cookie adds subtle depth to a typical chocolate cookie. The croque madame was divine (two slices of bread instead of open-faced, which was a surprise, but quite good). This may be the only place I ever eat again at Union Market. Well worth the walk down the street.

Excellent cardamom morning bun and overall experience. There is a good variety of pastries available to order. This was my first time but I definitely plan to come back. The inside was also beautiful, really nice atmosphere.
