Overly friendly service and delicious food.
I don't know if our server was the owner, cashier or chef but he did all of them lol.
He was such a Rockstar multi tasking and making sure everyone was ok. Soup and teriyaki were good but I have to say, those damn sushi.. WOW!!.Perfectly rolled flavorful sushi that I must try more!!
Definitely coming back.

Oh and their restroom have changing table with different size diapers for your babies! I thought that was cute and thoughtful of them.

Food is great. Authentic miso, fried shrimp, and other Japanese dishes. Honestly not sure Maple Valley deserves a restaurant this good.

Atmosphere is nice, especially when there is live jazz on weekend evenings.

Not the best sushi I've had, but not bad either. Still made my body rejoice when I ate it. Frankly the menu here is bafflingly large so I was surprised the food was as consistently good as it is.

Definitely give this place a try. If Japanese (and other Asian) food is your jam, I think you'll love it.

Ok. This place is the best sushi I've had since Montana and I've been on the road for about a few weeks now.
Portions are bigger than expected. That was actually really nice. Taste is 11/10 on the hot night roll, and the spicy tuna hand roll was extra good.

The owner was a blast to hang out with and his birthday bash was a ton of fun.
Music was pretty chill.
Cass fresh beer is good.
Will be back here before I head out on the road again.

A lot of Teriyaki places feel like fast food you're meant to take to-go, but this place is definitely a proper sit-down restaurant. Good beer selection, incredibly warm and welcoming owner and staff, and delicious food. I look forward to trying more of their food.

I walked in there at 8:45 and they closed at 9. Knowing what it's like to work in a restaurant and remembering when customers used to walk in at closing on me, I didn't want to put them out. The servers were just leaving and everything looked like it was buttoned up for the night. The owner (unfortunately I didn't catch his name) was so welcoming and pretty much insisted I stay and made me feel like he wanted my business. He offered me the menu which was EXTENSIVE. He suggested the yakisoba which I went with. He told me he would put it in a to go box but I could sit an eat inside if j wanted to. The food was ready really quickly. I paid and went outside and ate on the back of the truck. As he was leaving, he came to me and told me I could have sat inside. Then he had a conversation with me instead of running off to go home. Very very friendly people, the yakisoba was excellent, and didn't seem put out.about someone walking in the door 10 minutes before closing. I will definitely be back. I can't wait to try their sushi.

Thanks again.

Just Wow! This is not your average teriyaki! Their sauce includes an incredible fresh mix of pineapple and veggies marinated into tender chicken. I’m so impressed! It was spectacular! I favorited this place and will share with friends!

Tried this place out in response to some marketing materials we received at the house.

Overall I had a very favorable impression of the place. There were some things done very very well and a few things that need a little work, but I would return here nonetheless.

First, I'll start with what was done excellently - the food. They have a pretty expansive menu. The sushi was very fresh and extremely flavorful. These were high quality ingredients and it showed. We got a Hot Night roll which was phenomenal and a chicken teriyaki bento box. The amount of food in the bento box was very large. There was a good selection of tempura (sweet potato was excellent) as well as a little mini california roll. The teriyaki was very nicely flavored and the sauce had a good thickness to it.

The service was also a plus. The two team members we interacted with (I believe one was the sushi chef) were very nice and welcoming. In addition, they made every effort to make us feel welcomed back.

The environment is also nice. There was smooth jazz playing at lunch time and there were plenty of screens available if that is your thing. The Happy Hour Menu also looked impressive.

Now, the things that could be better.... First, this is a new restaurant (3 months) and I get the feeling that they are light on their staff. When we walked in (right after opening) there was no one there to greet us. We were allowed to pick our own table and once we sat down, we noticed that it hadn't been fully cleaned from the night before. This didn't look to be a wide spread problem, but it was a little concerning since we were the first customers of the day. Next, we didn't get a napkin during our entire lunch. There was a box of tissues on each table. I assumed that was in place of napkins until I saw a gentleman placing napkins on each table after we had finished our meal - something they didn't get to before opening. Lastly, the speed of service was disappointing. We were the first customers of the day and the only dine in customers while we were there (there was one pick up order). The food took a long time to arrive. We weren't in a rush, so this didn't bother us. Also, it kind of shows that everything is being made absolutely fresh. Once we finished, the check never came. We sat there for 20 minutes before getting up and walking to the register by the door. All told, lunch for 2 was about an hour an a half. It wasn't an issue for us on this day, but that could be problematic if you are on a schedule.

All told, this restaurant is a net positive, though. The food is superb. The other problems will get worked out with more staffing, which will come if they fet more business, so give them a shot!

I ordered gyoza and for sauce all it had was a packet of soy sauce. I realize that you can use soy sauce for them, but that is not usually what comes with gyoza for dipping, I’ve literally never been just given soy sauce as a dipping sauce for gyoza.

Overpriced for the portion and quality of the food. And good luck getting a refund at a place where they count how many napkins you get.

I went here for the first time for my birthday dinner. I was interested to try the local ramen house.

Upon entering, we were asked if we had to go orders. We stated we wanted to dine in and were told that, "take out is really good and popular."

My order of Miso Ramen came with pork dumplings. When we asked about it we were told they all come that way. When we referenced the menu to double check, pork was not listed in the miso ramen.

The sushi rolls were amazingly stale, dry and one was inedible, in my opinion.

To be brutally honest the overall experience was overpriced, lacking, and strange! I do not recommend and will not be back.

My wife and I were hoping for teriyaki for dinner. We stopped by this restaurant around 4:35pm and the door was open, but nobody was at the front counter. We rang the bell and a guy in the back said "we're not open!". I asked "when are you open?" and he said "I don't know, maybe 5:00pm". We left never to return. If the guy was the owner then he has no clue how to treat customers. We will never return to this business, he doesn't deserve it.

Small portions, high prices, and the beef is borderline inedible. I ordered the broccoli beef and although the meat was sliced thin it was so hard to eat!! We won't be going back.
