FDR Memorial Bookstore

What I loved about DC is going to all of the memorials. Lincoln being the busiest but you also have some that are kind of hidden. The FDR memorial was definitely less crowded and not many people were over here. The statues of Eleanor and FDR with his dog are huge when standing next to them. You’ll see more statues that represent the stages of his life (Great Depression, WW2, FDR in a wheelchair). You’ll see quotes and a beautiful waterfall. I can’t speak for parking because we walked everywhere. It’s a great way to get your exercise in.

This bookstore and interpretation center sits in the midst of one of the most incredible monuments on the mall. FDR was president for four terms and saw the US through some of it most difficult trials. This bookstore features some explanations of the memorial, can be the start of an NPS tour, and provides some souvenirs and drinks for visitors. Always check the NPS site for this and other monuments, as the NPS often has tours of the monuments where they point out facts and other things “hidden” in plain view.

It’s a nice tribute to FDR, there’s a few things to walk around and see. Some of his quotes are engraved along the walls. The waterfall is beautiful as well.

Walking the Memorial is a really good way to understand the impact of this President on the country in his four terms.

Cannot review FDR Monument so I am posting the pictures here. Monument is huge, one of the best presidents ever.

Didn't actually go to the book store. Just north of this location is the famous shot of the Jefferson Memorial with Cherry blossoms.

Small and limited bookstore and souvenir shop for the FDR memorial, which a lot of the bookstores for all these national mall sites.

Overall, still quaint and had a little bit of insight on the history of FDR, before and during all 4 terms of his presidency.

If you like reading up on history, this place has a bit of info, or you can get a book with further details. Also the rest of the memorial goes through the 4 terms of his presidency as well.

I have never been here... Though I think it is actually not bad.
