UCHU Sushi

Uchu is awesome. Some of the better vegan options we’ve seen at sushi restaurants in Portland. Great food; pretty, thoughtful presentation; great service; good house sake. Happy hour deals aren’t amazing, but better than nothing. They did forget to discount our sakes last time we had dinner there, but no big deal.

Omg! If you are having a sushi craving I highly recommend. Walked up and saw the sign that said "sushi and fried chicken" and thought that was a strange mix. Man was I wrong! You absolutely have to try the fried chicken roll!!!! (Add the bacon, it's totally worth it). I have a sensitive pallet but the spice mayo was a breeze. And added a nice taste to each bite. Please treat yourself!

Super vegan options, visited during happy hour for $7 sushi plates. Okra sushi is an absolute delight, don't be apprehensive.

Can't wait to come back for more sushi! Every visit leaves me craving for more of their delicious creations. The staff is always happy to recommend new dishes.

My family and I love coming here for their vegan items. It's my 4 y/o favorite place to eat.

The soy sauce is just the right flavor. It complements the sushi perfectly without overpowering it. The best I've had! Dreaming of when I can have it again!

I love coming UCHU Sishi. Prior to the pandemic I’d come here at least once a month for either lunch or dinner. My favorite spot to sit is at the bar top so I can watch the bartender mix drinks and if I’m sat further down the bar you can watch the chefs roll your sushi.

The service staff is always attentive and the drinks are yummy.

You might have noticed I ordered a lot of food for just me but I wanted a little taste of everything.

Delightful place with a great atmosphere. It seems to be harder and harder these days to get good service, but our server, Rae, couldn’t have made it a better experience. Will be back!

I came to get lunch with a friend from out of town on a Sunday afternoon. This place has a great atmosphere, perfectly fit for the cute neighborhood its in. We enjoyed our meal (my friend came twice). We ordered rolls, sashimi, nigiri, and the miso. Everything tasted fresh and great. Portion sizes for the price points are great, and the waitress and hostess were really kind. 👌

I haven’t dropped in to UCHU 🍣 for a few years now, so I planned a meet on Saturday with friends, and it was lovely. You can’t go wrong with anything in the menu, but The spicy calamari was the bomb 💣 and the fried chicken 🍗......... oh the fried chicken...... Low Key one of the best sushi spots in Portland.

Loveee this place. Both times I’ve been at busy dinner hours and barely waited to seat and food came out so fast, servers and hostess were super sweet. I’ve had the vegan chiang mai roll, vegan jalapeño poppers, and the lychee rain cocktail. All were super delicious; I normally don’t go out for vegan sushi as it’s often just plain veggies but there’s is so flavorful! Also incredibly reasonably priced. I paid around $35 for my sushi, my appetizer, a cocktail, and a 20%+ tip. For a dinner on Mississippi that’s not bad at all. A friend I went with, a sushi fanatic, who had the non vegan sushi also said it was delicious and very reasonably priced. They also have a happy hour when it’s even cheaper!

Surprised by the few reviews mentioning wait times as I have never waited at dinner time when it’s busy! But I’ve heard happy hour is a lil more busy; you have to expect that lunch time and super cheap food there’s gonna be a lil wait, no reason to leave a nasty review; just go somewhere else if you don’t wanna wait :) those are also the only ones that mention poor/rude service, which I don’t think that having to wait for service on a busy happy hour = rude, seems a lil entitled! 🤷🏽‍♀ Servers here were kind and working hard.

The sushi here was on point! Everything was super fresh. Also, the lychee black iced tea is amazing!! Will absolutely return here next time I’m in Portland!

The sushi was quite good. I've had sushi from all over the country. This place has some of the better quality rolls. A little on the small side. Good prices. Parking is a little tight. But one would expect that in Portland. We waited about 5 min ish before our server came to our table. It was about 1:30pm. But this was overall a good experience.

Great place to hang out with friends. Food is absolutely fabulous and staffs were welcoming.Highly recommend this restaurant!

Back in town and I had to stop by my favorite sushi place for lunch. This place still delivers and all the rolls are amazing!

This was the first time I went to a sushi restaurant and it was a great overall experience. I had a california roll, spicy tuna roll, and some fried ice cream. Everything was fresh and reasonably priced. The service was excellent.
