I was in a crisis due to severe insomnia and anxiety and I called the Crisis center. The crisis counselor on the other end helped me sort out my racing thoughts and feelings, understand what was going on, validated my feelings and helped me come up with next steps so that I could get out of the insomnia episode. He was kind, compassionate, and didn’t sound rehearsed like he was reading from a script. It truly changed the outcome of my crisis. I am so glad Salem has a place like this that helps it’s community members in a crisis.

I went in for assistance in time of real need and was assisted right away with safe secure placement and stable care and wrapped around community planned care.i was very grateful I wasn't judged for my mental health issues.this is a great place for help.

I came here after struggling for about a week straight. I was hesitant to go here due to the reviews, but I'm glad I went. The employee I spoke with, Allison, was very patient with me as I was still in pre- crisis while speaking with her in person. There was a long wait, but it was well worth it. She was kind, gentle, and non-pushy with the sensitive questions they have to ask. She acknowledged how I was doing at that moment and encouraged me. After coming here I was finally able to eat a meal and sleep. Something i couldn't all week long. Please give them a chance, because if you don't you're missing a chance for yourself.

I see a lot of bad reviews and I don't know why. They have helped me multiple times in the four years I've lived in the area. They helped me get on medication in the beginning, they helped me find a doctor's office where I could see a therapist and psychiatrist at the same place, whenever I call for advice during a crisis they always have a therapist or some other type of professional there are to talk to me even at like 3:00 in the morning. I think it's possible that some people come here seeking drugs like Xanax to abuse or sell and leave bad reviews when it doesn't work out but I'm just speculating because I have no idea why people would have so many bad things to say about this place that's been nothing but good to me.

I’m not sure why this place has so many bad reviews, I’ve interacted with the staff at PCC twice, once in person, and once over the phone. Both times they were extremely helpful and kind to me, during really rough times in my life. They’re one of the only places a trust right now to help me. They’re professional and helpful. I hope this review helps someone. ♥

They let me sleep in the lobby when I was homeless. Psych help wise? Hit or miss. At least I was seen and got prescribed meds. Couldn't afford the copay, but meh.

I was here a few years ago in a rough period and they were helpful. Hopefully the same goes for this visit.

First people you need to realize how hard their job is. They must weed out fakers and the real issues and problems. I was having a very real problem. I was having what I'd call a beyond a bad day. I called them for help as I was severely suicidal. I'd reached out to 4 other facilities and hospitals with no help. When I called they immediately answered and tried to help as soon as I started to talk. I was very truthful and that I had an attempted suicide plus plans to make sure my family and husband would be ok without me. They asked if they could stay on the phone with me till my husband got home to bring me in. I really appreciated that. I thought I was hospital bound for sure. I hate hospitals as I've been physically sick from a young age spent too much time in those places. So I went in. No real wait time. They took their time with me and looked at what we could do before a hospital stay. We put a safe plan in place. They are a great group. I liked Kat right off. I really think since that they work with the homeless and alcoholics it makes their job even harder on them. I'm sure some are repeaters. Not really sick. With me they did more than that. They helped me feel better and I didn't feel so alone. Lots of programs to look in to and the ABLE group. I think if you go in yelling and screaming you'll be treated that way. You come in with a true problem they'll work with you definitely. Thank you.

Good drop in service but don't waste your time calling in they hardly answer. They don't take appointments, it's drop in only, hard to find when looking for building.
