The owner, I guess, "Gordy" had my car for a total of 9 weeks. I asked for a new water pump install and shortening of my rear control arms. He insisted that he could install Car alarms and called someone else to come and do it. They totally ripped everything out under my dash and now my car does not start. He hawked me down all day while I was at work asking for money to buy parts and after that I was unable to reach him by phone. I believe he uses funds from 1 person car to start work on other cars. My car did not move for a total of 2 months. I had to call a tow truck and get my car towed back home when I drove it to the shop in the first place. I would not recommend going back to this place for anything. He is a good "slick talker" but a bad business owner. Not too sure of his mechanical abilities. I paid a total of $1000 and I had to get my car towed home.

Merlin Automotive had my car for 56 days. I asked for detailed updates and never received specifics. In the first weeks Gordie Gerber missed and appointment with the adjuster to go racing. He than asked for the deductible which he said before receiving my car he would pay and I paid him after he told me specifically not to give the money to his mother. On day 38 when I asked for a specific update he responded with " The adjuster is dragging his feet and I'm doing my best bro." Gordie's response was the first I have had heard of an issue with the adjuster not arriving and I questioned why he didn't call me to have my insurance company intervene, but he never responded to that question. I than reminded him that this is a business relationship and I was very prompt in ensuring he received the full payment and updates leading to making the payment in the amount of $18, 017. He never responded with same treatment or shared the same professional courtesy. I then discovered that he would not share details on how he conducted research to follow GMs instructions when doing work to my vehicle. He defaulted to his years of experience. I own a 2016 Corvette Z06 and wanted to be assured that the work to the vehicle was being done correctly. He never provided documentation proving he was or any documentation during the whole process to include a receipt for paying the deductible. I had to call the police twice to receive my vehicle back from Gordie Gerber. I than discovered that he was not a USAA Approved shop after stating he was upon reception of my vehicle. He threaten me with harassment, fraud and stated he would not release the vehicle until my insurance company sent him a letter of release. None of his statements were true after exposing his lies through a 3 way call with my insurance company. In conclusion I have not received the money for work not done after paying in full or a true itemized receipt reflecting the work done. The receipt I received stated that all work was done, but I had to fill my truck with parts for him not completing the job in a timely matter, not being a professional and not being truthful. My car does not start and my trunk will not open because he is immature. Stay away from this shop. I am a retired Veteran that has held a security clearance to this day. My service to this country in the capacity of a Soldier serving 4 deployments to Iraq and Afghanistan is a testament to my character. The Gerber family is one of two things or even both and that's sadly misinformed or criminals. If you choose to do business with them I'll let you decide.

Poor business practices and shoddy work. Very slow to get work done. I'm pretty confident they wait to get paid for one job to finance parts purchases for the next job so, you wait for long periods to get anything done. Then, when the work gets done, it's not always done properly. I had them do a rear disc brake conversion and new differential installation (limited slip with 3.55:1 ratio). I later discovered he left the original wheel studs installed on the axle shafts, which were too short after the brake conversion and only had about 3 threads engaged on the studs holding the rear wheels onto the car. I had to replace them with longer studs for safety. Also, after the differential installation I had a sound from the rear end in right turns that I initially thought was tire rub on the wheel well. I finally got around to replacing the rear springs and shocks myself to eliminate the possibility of tire rub, but still had the sound. I finally tore the rear end apart and discovered the differential carrier bearings were not pre-loaded with enough shims when it was installed by Gordie and his crew. The carrier had lateral play which eliminated ring gear/pinion backlash when the left rear wheel was loaded up with force (from turning right). I ended up replacing all the bearings and properly shimming the carrier to eliminate lateral movement and put the backlash within specs. Noise is now gone and I don't have to worry about my wheels falling off on the road. I'll give him credit for doing a reasonable job on my exhaust, but I had some other work done by him and feel compelled to go back and inspect those items just to make sure it was done properly. Beware!

Gordie has had my car for over a year.. very little work has been done and after sending it to the blast shop he left the 1966 mustang out in the weather.. he then cut out the floor pan and never replaced it.. he was paid 100% up front and refuses to give a refund or return phone calls.. I'm having to call the police to get my car and parts back.. do not do business with Philip "Gordie" Gerber.. or his mother.. they are crooks.

They will act like they are cool and will not screw you over like a typical mechanic. But they do promise! Came for a simple job which cost me triple the amount.
