Andre Chreky, the salon spa

I love Andre Chreky The Salon Spa. My husband and I have been going there for over 15 years and the team there always treat us with love and make us feel like family. André is an excellent stylist - I’ve received compliments for my cut all over the world - and Brigitte is one of the best makeup artists I’ve been to if not the best. Carla, Nancy and Linda are amazing colorists and they always do a great job with my hair - also get tons of compliments on my color. Rina does a great blow dry. Serena and Winnie are excellent with customer service and the team that takes care of hair treatments is also great. They have a real passion for their work and they care about their clients. During this pandemic I’ve missed them and my hair has DEFINITELY missed them.

My bridal party got our hair and makeup done at the salon. Serena was so helpful and accommodating. She was able to coordinate our large group efficiently and make sure everyone was finished on time. Everyone's service was excellent. My bridal hair and makeup were outstanding. The rooms that they have upstairs for groups are very nice and convenient. They truly care about customer service!

I have been going to Andre for 20 years (my husband has been going for 30+ years) and always look forward to my visits. Andre is a delight and a master hairdresser. He knows my curly hair and does the best cuts I’ve ever had. The colorists are amazing, and I constantly get complements. The entire staff are lovely and pamper you in every way.

One month update: the cut grew very well and the highlights and lowlights hold well. I get daily compliments. Time to go back for a trim soon.

, short hair done professionally.... You know the feeling. Got my hair cut by Andre, he’s mindful of jaw line and cheek bones and skin tone... everything that goes into a good cut and color. I got highlights and lowlights (I’m so done with “let’s just go witch-grey” fad) and it looks perfect. It’s not frumpy and it’s not like you’re selling vacuum cleaners in Germany circa 1980, which is what many salons downtown offer for the power brokers of the world (sorry, think Hillary and power suits). Andre kept up with current styles and he understands hair texture... I love it. One last thought, just remember Andre is the steward of a big shop full of talented women who had to make do through Covid, if you can get your hair done here (prices are on par with any other salon in that class and location), be as generous as you can afford.

MARIA WAS AMAZING! Was on vacation and Decided I needed a quick makeover! Maria was able to directly quote me and give me everything I wanted. She gave me the best balayage with rose gold tints! Her cut was always top tier! Will recommend her to everyone and anyone!

I was visiting DC on business and needed hair and makeup for a day of running around in the heat & humidity from meeting to meeting. I was very clear that I needed the hair and makeup to stand up to the elements and Stephanie did an amazing job. I was beyond pleased with the way it looked and how long it lasted. It even lasted through the next day - a full day of cross-country travel.

I absolutely love coming here!! The staff is incredible and always makes me feel like a celebrity with the attention and care they give me. Andre is a wizard when it comes to styling and I wouldn't trust my hair with anyone else.

I'm really surprised by the negative reviews. I have never had a bad experience at the salon. I have been going to Chreky now for 2 years. I'm a guy but I know the importance of a good haircut and the skill it takes to make it happen. Kin has been cutting my hair for 2 years now and he's awesome. I think like everyone my hair has little foibles (the sides poof out so often a week after someone else would cut it, I would look like a mushroom) and Kin does a great job of 'fixing' things so my cut looks good not just after 3 days but 3 weeks.

I also took a pregnant friend of mine here for a little pre-natal pampering (facial, mani/pedi, massage) last year. The service was great, the staff polite and focused on making it a nice experience for my friend. I would definitely recommend the salon.

I've had several haircuts with the fantastic Mindy and I'm always satisfied! She is creative, efficient and very knowledgeable.

The first time I went to Andre Salon (on a whim on a weekday lunch), I brought a photo of the haircut I wanted (Agent Scully, X-Files, circa 1999). What happened next convinced me that I was in the hands of a caring professional. After a couple of lifestyle questions and an in-depth look at my head (she looked at or touched my scalp, hairline, hair ends and flipped it around) Mindy explained that the look I wanted would be labor intensive with my hair type and with my admitted low-maintenance outlook, it would be difficult to maintain. She then described how my natural hair, the texture, the weight and width of the hair stands, my natural part and natural wave/curl could be taken into account to create a similar hair cut that would work for my lifestyle and look beautiful. Then, and this is huge, she asked me if I would give her suggestions a try (What? You mean she didn't just charge ahead?!).

A half hour later, I couldn't believe how great I looked! Mindy was 100% right with her suggestions, and the haircut she gave me was exactly what I didn't know I wanted! It was definitely Scully-ish and allowed my natural hair type to shine through without forcing it with products and equipment.

Now, I wash my hair in the morning, 2 drops of Argan Oil and air-dry. By the time I get to work on the bus, my hair is completely dry and had settled into big, loose waves. I usually leave it like this (so so easy and pretty!), but with a simple hair comb I can create a number of more formal looks.

I liked Mindy so much I sent my bosslady to her and took my Mom to the Salon for a spa day when she was visiting from out of town. The staff was so friendly to us, they made her feel special and beautiful. She got a new haircut that looks awesome too!

I don’t see myself going to another Salon as long as Mindy’s at Andre.

My wife and I have been coming here for 20+ years and absolutely love the experience. They offer an incredibly wide range of services, with a fabulously talented staff. They can definitely make you look your best for your special event or just every day affairs!

Impeccable work EVERY visit- color, cuts, shampoos and blow dry. Each phase always given with the utmost attention to detail and quality. The welcoming, warm atmosphere just adds the extra fabulousness to the whole experience. I live out of state and now only go to Chreky Salon upon my visits to D.C.

I have been going to Andre Chreky since since 2006, they are the best! The entire staff is customer focused and professional. I’ve referred friends who have also become loyal patrons as well.

Amazingly friendly place and absolute professionalism. Highly recommended.

Update 3/23 : Yet again another wonderful and friendly visit. Andre was very sweet in making sure that anything done style wise was keeping in mind with what I wanted, while also having the patience to offer recommendations and advice. Wonderful friendly staff, cannot recommend enough.

Maria did an amazing transformation (cut, highlights, lowlights) on my damaged hair!!! I highly recommend her. The salon was great.

I will definitely will be returning to Andre Chreky. They did my hair and make-up for a black-tie wedding for which I was a guest. They were so kind, professional, and quick! I actually missed my early morning appointment (GUHH!), but after reaching out they said that I could still get my makeup done there if I came right away. I did and let me tell you I came out feeling like a model! THEN they actually told me the could squeeze me in to get my hair done too!! It was a wonderful experience and I cannot thank them enough for their kindness, help, and speed!

Andre is the best! Just take a hairstyle photo, and he can do ir. Very creative and loves his eccentric clients. His staff is exceptional, too

After a serious surgery, I went back to Andre Chekry’s Saloon, I was very impressed about how Andre and his staff went above and beyond to accomodate my physical limitations. The affection and the excellent service were unparalleled!

Haircut with Andre is the best. i have been going to Andre for many years. Would highly recommend him. Staff is very friendly too.

This is a amazingly well-run salon. My colorist is the best ever, and I've never gotten anything but a fabulous haircut from Andre.

I had my hair and nails done her, and I am pleased with the result. Prices are good and service is professional.
