Kuntry Korner

When we arrived here to the gas station I was hoping to pick up something good to eat for Gilbert not just fried burritos or something like that. I took him straight into Kuntry Kitchen to sit down at bar. There's no rush here. Gibert went to wash up and I gave Melissa our order. The lady's here are busy doing the cooking, everything looks good and fresh.. Very HomeStyle. Breakfast was being served.
Gilbert wanted a burger all the way with no extras. He hadn't eaten in a long while. He had to leave home with no money no phone.
This is a good little place to take a break from a long drive or walk to sit eat and rest. They have plenty of space here in their dining room for many travelers.

I picked up Gilbert walking on 281/37 just before 1099, Exit 88. He had been walking for 3 days from Alice Tx on 281, was put in jail Christmas Eve, got out Tuesday went home to grab 1 bag to head to SA to start a new life at moms in Forestville Tx. He had walked about 73 miles when I picked him up. 5 miles 1 pastor gave him a ride.
I was traveling from Corpus Christi on 37. 281 & 37 connect so he was about 17 miles from that connect point.
He's feet he said we're very blistered. He had been beating himself up mentally while walking, saying he deserved this.. it was payment for the mess he caused.

His birthday is 8.24. Same day as my grandpa's. Funny thing I was just thing of this grandpa on Monday. He was born, raised and died in Alice Tx.
His travel stick had a ✌sign.
💜❤ p.s. after being in my car for while he said open the window to let the Bee out. I did. But then there was another🐝🐝. When we walked out of Kuntry Kitchen there was another 🐝 that ZooMed in front of Me. I had looked at TOBE.. thinking To Bee this morning b4 leaving home. So the Beez showed up. 🤣🤣🐝🐝

Great place to get some good ol' American breakfast. Connie is such a great cook, I think I'm gonna propose to her one of these days.

Small "homestyle" place that was amazing. Ladies were all super nice. My grandfather and I got the cheeseburgers with curly fries. Fries were crunchy, burgers were excellent. We kept seeing all the local construction guys come in, so you know it's good food for a good price.

Left about 5 minutes ago. Stopped for gas when I saw the sign that read “Try our famous burgers.” So I parked my car, went inside to try the burger. The menu said “Ask for our famous sauce.” So far this little, he in the wall diner has hyped themselves up. Best burger I ever had. I know where I’ll eating when I’m on the road!

Stopped by this morning on the drive up from Corpus and was smiling ear-to-ear when my breakfast plate arrived. If you grew up on homemade southern style breakfast this is a great place to try out. Best grits and biscuits that I have had after 15 years of searching across Texas. Sat at the counter and had quick and immediate service. Had a chance to talk to the staff/cooks and felt like I was back home catching up with a favorite aunt.

The gas station was just a basic, but busy, roadside Truck Stop. A little worn for the wear but you could tell they put a personal touch on it. There's a hotel/motel attached but that was not part of our stop.

Plenty of room to park, no other businesses around, and space to walk your pets if needed.

We stopped on Saturday on the way to Smithson Valley for a competition. Tacos were delicious. Girl at the counter was very nice. Everything was good except for the older Hispanic woman at the store counter. She was very rude. Other than that it was great 👍

Great food and friendly staff. Good place for the whole family.

I've stopped here for years and it is a comfortable station. The restaurant is basic but filling. The bathrooms are usable and reasonably priced. It's small but reminds me of many years ago when there were no stops between SA and CC

On our way up to San Antonio, we decided to make a quick rest stop. We found this lovely little Steak and Eggs restaurant at the Kuntry Korner. Let me say, I loved everything about my experience here. The server was very sweet and patient, never bothered us but to make sure our needs were met. The lady I saw working the fry/grill station was very kind as well and even came up to ask us if we enjoyed the food. The food. My gosh, I really felt the love in every bite I took. I had the Lil Hunter's Breakfast and my partner got the Mushroom Swiss Burger. We shared as well because from breakfast to lunch, every food was delicious and shared a similar consistency that made every bit melt in our mouthes. I rate this restaurant a 5/5 for excellent service

Always a pleasure a welcoming place to stop during travel or local visit. Great cafe too! Truck stop and motel plus unique souvenir and gift shop area. Kid friendly and clean restrooms too. A full truck stop of many years with shower wifi etc. Whether group trip or single stopper the Kuntry Korner open 24 hours is a harbour indeed!!

We stopped here on our way back home to OKC and were not disappointed. The anazing smell drew us from the convenient store side. They were short staffed but the food still came out quick and EVERYTHING was on point. My over medium eggs had a runny yolk but cooked whites, not burned. The bacon was crispy, but again, not burned. They had an amazing salsa to go with it that was spicy and tasted fresh and authentic. Hashbrowns were also perfectly cooked. The sw omelet was decent sized with great tasting peppers and wasn't dry. Biscuits and gravy were perfectly seasoned, great flavor, and had just the right amount of salt. Biscuits were also fluffy on the inside, not dry. Burger was juicy and you could tell it was made fresh to order, not just reheated. We have a chef in our group who can usually find something to comment on that could have been done better and she could find nothing. The food was so good and we are SO glad we decided to eat here. The duo that were working this morning were WONDERFUL!!! Absolutely would recommend stopping by, or driving out of the way for!!!

Breakfast is great, I really enjoy eating here. Always a place to stop and eat when I’m passing by. Great staff too.

Just stopped 4 gas....We end up ordering burgers fries & wings. Food was Awesome . No greasy fries or wings. They were perfectly crispy..As well as the burger couldn't stop eating it till it was done I would easily give more than 5 stars ...Glad we ordered food from here.

Excellent food! Hot and fresh, with big portions. I highly recommend the double bacon cheese burger w/ fries and a side of the homemade apple pie for dessert. Great place to stop on a long road trip!

Pleasonton's best cafe! I had the burger, side of hashbrown and a medium over egg. I would compare this style to Waffle House only without the drama or cigarette smell. Tasty burgers and the hashbrowns were divine. The egg was cooked to perfection, hard on the white and a stunning gooey yolk! Dont let the name off put you, this is a 3 in 1 stop. Venue is a combination gas station, diner and motel. There is a coin op washer and dryer you can use if u need to while u grab a delicious meal. Restrooms are older but as clean as you can hope for. Not the newest looking location but definitely worth the stop!

Definitely worth the stop. Clean friendly and good parking.

Stopped to grab some milk for my baby, we ran out our trip back home to Austin. They didn’t have any left in the coolers. The cashier saw my distress and went to the kitchen to grab me a cup. She didn’t have to be so thoughtful, but she was and we appreciated it so much!

Great service and a great cooking! Slyvia does an outstanding job as a waitress. She is always positive and upbeat. I always look forward to eating there when she is working because I know my meal will be prepared just as I ordered it. She is truly what makes this place so great.

I come here every time I'm in the area. Their eggs are large so you get plenty. They've always had my order correct and it's always made to my satisfaction. The staff is friendly and efficient even when very busy.

Amazing place!! Steak and eggs and cheeseburger were great. I asked for a salad instead of the french fries. Staff was the best and accomodated our changes. Thanks!
