Parr Park Pollinator Prairie

The family had a great time at the Wildflower Butterfly Habitat in Grapevine in Parr Park located on Bear Creek Trail. There was not a large amount of flowers present but what we did see was great. I would suggest to bring some water on hot days and to go to the restroom beforehand since the only one is on the other side of the park near the splash pad. We will for sure be coming back next spring to see if any new flowers have popped up.

At first, it was hard for us to find this butterfly habitat but we figured we should park at the Parr Park and walk up there. It wasn't too far from the parking lot to get to the habitat area. We didn't see any butterfly nor milkweed(I couldn't locate milkweed), but as a butterfly lover, I wish we had more places like this in other cities.

Grapevine Parks and Receation started this project a few years ago. It's heat to see it the progress. Planting day for some new items today. 20 to 30 folks out in this heat to add to the plant diversity.

I love that we have a natural prairie that's been restored to not just a butterfly habitat, but all kinds of wild life that can be observed here.
