Authentic taqueria in Lakeway. The cute exterior is matched by a beautiful wood ceiling and clean/bright dining area. They serve breakfast until 10:30 and feature homemade tortillas. The salsa is bright and flavorful with a good amount of heat in the green and red salsa. The bilingual staff is accommodating and friendly. Patrons were a nice mix of folks and they were pretty steady with takeout orders and walk ins. I had the breakfast Gordita with cactus and egg. The tortilla was crisp and light. The layer of beans brought a perfect balance of flavor and texture without being drippy or soggy. I will come back when on this side of town.

This morning was our first time in. It was busy but no wait, which is always a good sign. The staff was friendly and quick to take our order and offer suggestions. We asked if they would be willing to make breakfast quesadillas which wasn’t on the menu and they did without hesitation and WOW they tasted amazing! I did bacon egg and cheese with the green salsa and my husband not egg ham and cheese with both salsas. We’ll definitely be back!

- Best chips and best salsa to go with it (I skip their normal red and green because I don’t like spicy. It’s “the sauce that comes with the chips”)
- Most of their meats are great, big fan of their al pastor and bistec
- Breakfast tacos

We're visiting from Pennsylvania and wanted authentic like legit no text mex (no offense) Wow did this place deliver. It was perfect and David our waiter was very attentive along with I believe the manager who had regulars he'd come greet. There's not alot of seating but inside but it's just enough and you know they hook it up in the kitchen, hot sauce is a very hit or miss for places but these guys did it perfectly that I had to request for some to take back to the hotel. I will definitely be back when I come to town again. Thank you all and stay blessed.

Nestled in the rolling hills of Lakeway, La Gordi Buena promises a taste of authentic Mexican flavors, and it certainly delivers. As a fervent food enthusiast, I ventured into this cozy eatery with high hopes, and I was not disappointed.

Upon recommendation, I indulged in their menudo, a traditional Mexican soup renowned for its rich flavors and comforting warmth. La Gordi Buena's rendition exceeded all expectations. The broth was robust, infused with a symphony of spices that danced on my palate with each spoonful. Tender chunks of beef tripe added a delightful chewiness, perfectly complemented by the earthy undertones of hominy.

Fantastic breakfast! This building has been here for 40 years, and this was a nice replacement for Sandy's. All of their food was very good. The rice and beans were spectacular, and I don't usually care for most places'. We will definitely be returning!

Coming from Houston, where you can find real taquerias on almost every corner, we missed that here in the greater Austin area. This place is legit! Real MEXICAN food and great service. Their piña agua fresca is great to start off with. Then you go for anything Al Pastor, with a heaping amount of their verde jalapeno sauce. Can't go wrong!

My first experience here, and it will definitely not be my last! If you are local to this area, La Gordibuena Taqueria Restaurant location used to be Sandeez Hamburger Hut. My first impression walking in on a very cold morning was how warm and inviting the place felt when I opened the door. I was meeting a group of 12, and I was extremely impressed with the quick and attentive service we all received. I ordered breakfast tacos and coffee. The tacos were amazing, and the coffee was fresh and hot! It was very obvious that every ingredient in the tacos was fresh and made to perferfection. If you love breakfast tacos , La Gordibuena Taqueria Restaurant is top 10 for sure!

10 stars 😍 located where Sandeez was previously. Loved Sandeez, but the new place is much cleaner inside. They have 4 salsas, I tried 3 of them. Hands down my new fave salsas, all 3. I had the Picadillo Gordita and a Campechano (beef & chorizo) Gordita. Meats were well seasoned and tasted great. Fast friendly service, freshly brewed iced tea, great prices, fresh ingredients. Def going to be one of my go to places, which means I’ll need to add the gym to that list. Worth it, highly recommend. ❤

Really great little spot for good cocktails and solid food! Julie was so friendly and everything was delicious. Highly recommend for anyone in the area looking for good Mexican food.

La Gordibuena Taqueria is my go-to spot for mouthwatering Mexican food. The tacos are a must-try – fresh ingredients, bold spices, and the perfect amount of kick. The restaurant's vibrant decor adds to the overall enjoyable dining experience.

Stopped by for a quick bite and I am glad I did. Had a beef fajita quesadilla with rice and beans which was really good. I passed by the location a bunch but had never stopped by before. This place is better Mexican food than the fancier restaurant down the road from it. The salsa with the complimentary chips is good and the mild green salsa that is bright out with the food has a nice spicy bite to it. I will be visiting again when I want a quick bite of Mexican food.

BEST BREAKFAST TACOS IN THE AREA! I know bc I’ve tried the places around here and these are hands down the best. So if you want the good stuff made by the right people, come here! Also, they have creamy green salsa, my personal favorite (and this place makes it right)!!! And on top of that, the two ladies that took my order were sweet, helpful and overall left me smiling. Thank y’all! Can’t wait to be back!!

I had the Birra tacos and they were amazing. Inexpensive and delicious. I will be coming back.

The food is always delicious, like, seriously delicious, it's made with love and you can taste it. The service is always stellar, everyone is always attentive, excellent customer service, specially Yuli, she makes me feel like I'm home, and I'm family, and for someone that's far away from home this is sooooo valuable, the food and service keeps me coming back, and I tell anyone that asks me where to find the good Mexican food. Thank You ❤

Everything on the menu is delicious. An absolute go to out by the lake!

Moved to where Sandeez Hamburger Hut used to be (Front of Lexus dealership next to Texaco). Tacos are still delicious plus service is friendly & great as always! Happy it's in now a brick and mortar in Lakeway.
